The goal I'm looking for is wielding 1-3 Light Hammers which will explode on impact and then return to me (Sunbreaker Titan for any Destiny players out there).

I see two options:
1. Card Caster, which gives Harrowed Spellstrike. This specifically states "Beginning at 2nd level, a card caster can invest a single thrown weapon with a single touch or ranged spell as part of the spell’s normal casting time. The spell must target a single creature, and the spell’s range changes to match the thrown weapon’s range increment. This ability otherwise functions identically to spellstrike, except it can only be applied to thrown ranged weapons instead of melee attacks.

The problem is that even the Arcana Pool "can be used to augment only ranged weapons" which doesn't really do me any good, and neither Deadly Dealer or Role Dealer read as applying to anything other than the Harrow Deck to begin with, so no help there, either.

2. Eldritch Archer's Ranged Spell Combat states "Instead of a light or one-handed melee weapon, an eldritch archer must use a ranged weapon for spell combat." Ranged Weapon Bond and Ranged Spellstrike also specifically state ranged weapons. So it seems like there's no help there.

My question is this: Is there a method to make this character work that I am overlooking? (I will also accept non-Magus builds, this is just the class that I am most interested in.)

Caravan battle map is here. Check it and let me know if you would like to change your position.
A=Arkis
K=Kamali
W=Wolf
S=Shaco
Z=Zhoron
G=Guard
C=Guard Captain
P=Prisoner

I will update it in the gameplay thread with enemy positions once you verify your locations.

Character creation:
25 point buy
Paizo materials only - no 3rd party
Max starting gold
Max health every level
Use Background skills
Two traits, or three traits and a drawback

If you choose to write a backstory (I prefer one but will not require it), it must end with you arriving just outside of Fort Inevitable, River Kingdoms.

Fort Inevitable. Ruled with an iron fist by Lady Commander Audara Drovust, a paralictor of the Hellknight Order of the Pike. She has both complete civil and military authority, and makes nearly every important decision in the town. The Paralictor also carries the titles of high magistrate, tax assessor, director of public works, keeper of the treasury, and chief regulator of business and commerce. In such a freedom-loving place as the River Kingdoms, one might expect that the citizens of the town would chafe under the Hellknights' draconian rule. Instead, they seem to tolerate the Commander's heavy-handed method, preferring it to the risk and lawlessness of other nearby towns such as Thornkeep.

You can see it in the distance as the sun sets, but the caravan leader calls a stop for the night. Nobody questions the decision, even with the town so close; guards in these types of cities have itchy trigger fingers and deadly aim. No legitimate traveler wants to appear even close to threatening, just in case one of the guards gets startled. After the wagons circle, and a fire gets started, most of the caravan passengers find places to drift off to sleep but a few remain awake.

Other people remaining awake:

Hired guard captain - Tiberious Eagle-Eye
Various guards
Man in shackles - Michus
Hooded man - Artemis Baenre

What do you do?

Hello,

I'm in the same boat as others I've seen post here: deleted the original Gameplay post and messed everything up. Guess that's good to know for the future.

This is the link for the gameplay tab:

Thank you for your help.

Please check in here once you are ready.

I'm the only one out of the group with any significant experience. We're mostly interested in an in-house campaign rather than Skype, Roll20, or PBP.

I work a rotating shift schedule, have a lot of extra duties, and am currently in Buenos Aires, so having everything line up for an online session always seems nearly impossible. Therefore: PbP.
