I'm not really sure if it would work in this particular situation but aren't the spores are pretty much a fine most likely flammable dust suspended in the air. If they are you could use some form of flaming projectile and possibly burn away all the spores in quite a sizeable explosion. I know it works with flour and pollen if it is in a dense enough cloud so it might work in this situation too. Just thought I'd mention it.

Standing quietly on the descending platform, Anang stares up at the tunnel stretching away into the darkness above the group's heads, wondering quite how far under the ground they have ventured and feeling a vague fear at the countless tonnes of stone suspended above him. As the stone comes to a shuddering halt he steps off and moves carefully down the short tunnel, stopping a short distance from the slab of black stone and examining it for any clue to it's purpose. I have had a weird shortened semester, 8 weeks instead of the standard 10 and have had the same amount of lectures/tutorials/bits of work etc due as I would for 10 weeks so I haven't been spending a huge amount of time on the web. I can commit to 5 posts in a week but I might have to disappear for a few days every now and then just because the workload gets ramped up. Also, I'm cool with the SOP and I'm at GMT so I really have no idea what I am doing awake at 1.30am when I have to be up at 7 tomorrow.

As his eyes adjust to the darkness Anang stares up in wonder at the beautifully carved trees stretching off into the darkness. Moving slowly into the cavernous space he steps closer to one of the huge pillars and brushes a hand lightly across the detailed carving, before looking down and examining the dusty ground for any of the disturbances signifying recent habitation. He then turns and moves back out of the huge chamber, moving quietly up behind the engrossed Dworg and tapping and tapping him on the back to gain his attention before relaying his findings from the inside. Would make sense for Anang to at least examine the doors before we go through them. Be my first opportunity to do that classic rogue thing and check for traps. "Alright then, keep a reasonable distance behind me and I'll take a look-see at the doors the talking raven twins described."

Anang feels maybe a fraction of the wonder he would have a mere week ago at the group's sudden jump in geography, the events of the past few days inuring him to the seemingly constant stream of bizarre new experiences. As the mist clears he looks around with interest at their new surroundings, noting the bite in the air and wishing he'd kept some of the skins he'd collected over the last few days for himself.
Seeing Chops move Anang follows his lead and moves out from the circle, scanning their new surroundings more carefully for any sign of danger. perception1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 The sudden brightness of the sun creeping over the horizon dazzles his sensitive eyes.

Sorry I disappeared for two weeks, we got sprang with midsemester tests at the same time as a two week research project with an hour long presentation and report at the end of it. Spent all my time either in the lab, writing and doing sodding references, alsleep or revising.

Teral: Sounds good to me, could also be part of the reason that Anang went quite so far into the mountains and got himself possessed. Still trying to outdo his older brother even though that same competitiveness got the middle brother killed. Also, if you're going to name the middle brother just tell me so I can add it into my background.

Anang sighs as he pulls his battered and bloodstained armour on to his lap and begins scraping off the dried blood coating the inside of the chest.
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
Anang looks down with wonder as the wounds in his chest rapidly knit back together under Gilian's ministrations but notices with a slight sense of dismay that as the skin settles across the newly created flesh it has become significantly more scaly than the uninjured skin around it, shining like snake skin in the low light of the cave.
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
Would still probably be a bit bloody. Anang still has some pretty serious chest wounds I forgot about so a smack with a sword would probably open them right back up. At the mention of blood Anang looks down at his own chest and seeing quite a considerable amount of blood seeping from below his armour he sits down hard, a look of mixed pain and mild surprise on his face.
Damn, posted too late. Ah well. I think I need 18 hp to get back to full The snake skinned elf looks incredibly sheepish at Gillian's admonishment, his face darkening slightly with embarrassment. "I don't know why I didn't mention it... just wasn't hurting when Ilona got me back into my right mind and I've been wearing armour ever since, not really got a chance to check and see how bad it was."
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
Oh totally, I get the high rolls at pretty much the worst times, next actually life threatening fight I'll roll all ones :). Also, the Sepi were wrapped in cloth in the theory that as slashing weapons they are pretty useless for actual damage without sharp edges. Subdual damage all round is my guess. As Duncan keels over Anang drops his weapons and kneels down to check the large man's breathing, a worried look on his face. "Silly Bastard, should have called the fight if he was that close to blacking out." He lifts his hand from Duncan's chest with a sigh of relief as he feels the rise and fall of the man's ribs below his armour.
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
Anang grunts at the impact of the blade against his still damaged chest but grins up at the young warrior, a slight feral gleam in his eyes. "That's a strong sword arm you've got there, shame you've got the disadvantage in size." He steps lightly inside Duncan's guard and attempts another set of punishing blows to his stomach. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 251d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 271d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

After the long night of trailing Chops and the odd giant through the forest and seeing some strange sights as a result, Anang wanders toward the forge. He spends a few moments watching Sorok and Duncan's mock combat, feeling a slight urge to pull out his Sepi and join in but turning away and instead moving into the forge proper. He looks around with interest for a little while, picking up hammers to test their heft and so on before shrugging and walking back to collect his pack to collect his bedroll and get a few hours of shut eye before the sun hits it's zenith.

You could speed up the drying process by stacking the skull tops near on top of or just outside the furnace. Might just be easier to go chop down a tree and make some bowls out of that though. Bit of fat as a sealant on the wood and it could work Anang had been sat just outside the tomb fastidiously cleaning the last of the blood off of his armour and weapons. When the Son passes stealthily followed by Chops he drops his pack down near the entrance and moves off after the Dworg, following his example and keeping out of sight of the Son. Ranger, I swear from the way you write the conversations with the spirits I can almost hear their voices, all b@*~+ing and complaining. It makes all your posts really enjoyable to read. Still shaken by his loss of control Anang moves out far ahead of the group, scouting for any signs of soldiers or game. With the sudden influx of freed prisoners to feed their meagre supplies were going to be stretched far too thin, and some fresh meat would go a ways toward helping the situation. As Ilona describes his actions during the battle Anang begins shaking and looking decidedly nauseated. When she offers a hand he waves it frantically away before half turning and retching up a great stream of congealed gore and lumps of flesh, the sight of the steaming pile causing him to gag and retch even more. Finally, his stomach aching and empty, Anang uses shaking hands to fish out his waterskin, rinsing out his mouth and washing the gore from his face and arms as best he can. When he turns back to Ilona he seems to have shrunk somehow, his eyes haunted and his shoulders turned inwards.
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
Anang's stare darts from Chops to Sorok and back again, following their conversation but showing no real sign of understanding. The Dworg's attempt at calming him seems to have no effect and he continues baring his teeth and acting remarkably like a cornered animal. As Ilona approaches the elf takes one rapid step back and raises his blades in readiness but something in her words and tone of voice makes him stop. A flicker of confusion mars the predator's rictus, a small crack in the hold of the demonic shard. The Sepi drop from his hands as the woman crouches down in front of him, the force of her personality beating at the darkness in his mind. Incredibly tentatively Anang reaches out a gore encrusted hand and brushes at the end of Ilona's lustrous black hair. The contact seems to drive a wave through his body, blasting away the dark tendrils holding his limbs taught and allowing his body to sag down into a heap on the ground. Anang shudders for a second and then rolls over, groaning as the pain of bloody furrows on his chest finally makes it's way back into his brain. Pulling himself into a sitting position the elf gives a little start at the proximity of the beautiful Sarcosan.
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
I could see that happening, not much mention of Celestials in the description of the Aruun but if there are demons there must at least be a few right? I could see the brothers getting very yin and yang. Anang starts going over the edge and Teral pulls him back and if Teral ever got a bit too holier than thou Anang could certainly set him in his place. Would be an entertaining relationship to rp, especially if you add in sibling rivalry which would possibly be compounded by Anang's shame at his 'failure'. I like both your character ideas really so I add my approval to both, with possibly a slight bias toward Teral, because well.. yeah.
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
Argh! Paizo does not love me at the moment. Pages keep not loading or taking forever and then when they do I can't post. As the dwarf approaches Anang drops even lower to the ground, baring his gore smeared teeth and hissing violently. His hands still clenched tightly around his Sepi twitch forward, ready to hack at anyone or anything in range. His face is devoid of any sign of a personality, the muscles taught in the tense rictus of a predator on verge the of pouncing.

Cheers Ragnar. Yeah I decided that Anang hasn't really been demonic enough yet and having him go all feral and predatory after taking loads of damage seems to work. Might be a little bit of problem when he gets back to the rest of the group though...

The fiendhearted elf finishes his leap atop one of the rapidly expiring sentries and with a flash of teeth and the singing of blades begins demolishing the body, splattering himself in gore and swallowing huge chunks of still warm flesh in the process. Between his own bestial growls of satisfaction and the horrible crunching of bones a particularly loud cry from the battlefield reach Anang's ever twitching ears and causes him to look up from his bloody meal. The elf's face is blank of emotion, his personality entirely subsumed in the single minded predatory shard left by the demon. A split second choice between finishing his meal and finding more prey and Anang leaps free of the bloody mess of a corpse, loping easily off in the direction of the battle. I guess I'll just spend my 3 rounds moving toward the battle. Could well be over by the time I get there but never mind.

Nightflier, I was perusing the paizo boards and came across this thread describing a new 'Predator' character class that someone is making. I know I could just do the same thing pretty much with rogue but I just thought it was awesome and was wondering if I could possibly switch out some class levels or use the class later on when they have refined it a bit more. Also, once I either kill or run away from the sentries where am I in comparison to the rest of the group?
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
I hate doing this to myself but isn't a 19 with a longsword a critical? Anang reels back a few steps as the soldiers swords carve bloody furrows across his ribcage, agonising pain leaving his mind a white hot burning empty slate for a scant few seconds. In that tiny sliver of time the shadow left on the elf's soul seems to awaken and uncoil itself. Tendrils of darkness burst out into his body, spiralling through and around muscle and bone and then pulling tight, making his entire body tense and spasm. One tendril flickers out through Anang's mouth, reaching toward the two sentries and just for split second he appears to have a four foot long forked black tongue. Then the elf's body jerks forward apparently oblivious to the copious amounts of dark blood welling out of the wounds on his chest. The first step is stiff but Anang's gait smooths rapidly in to the fluid light footed grace of a born jungle predator, completely focussed on the kill. Just as he re approaches the range of the soldier's blades the elf leaps, bringing a blade arcing down toward each sentry's throat. Attack against Sentry 1
If the critical confirmation is too low I'll add 2 to the attack roll with a fate point. Also, because I really don't want to die next round I'll use 2 fate points to maximise the damage on soldier number 1 so 11 damage and two to maximise the one of the damage dice on the other soldier for a total of 11.
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
The snake skinned elf swears in frustration at the ineffectiveness of his attacks and throws his Sepi to the ground, pulling a fresh pair from his belt in the same movement as he mutters a quick prayer to the far off jungle to make the fresh blades just a bit more effective than the last pair. With that he sets to work ridding the world of another two of Izrador's servants. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 111d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Okay, at this point I may just give up. I think I have had one roll above a 10 in the last 8 attacks. I think if it happens again I'm gonna spend a load of fate points, just to get the damn fight finished.
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
I'm not sure but I think Anang is off somewhere with two guard/soldiers? Have no idea where I am compared to the big line or the rest of the group somewhere along our original line of travel but past where the prisoners were chained up? For all I know I could be behind the line of soldiers at the moment but that would be silly.
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
Iniative, just in case 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 Seeing his Sepi bounce harmlessly off the soldiers armour Anang hisses in frustration and reverses the blades in his hands drives their heavy pointed ends at the soldier's exposed neck. Attacks both against one guard and I'm not sure if I'm flanking so I won't add the sneak attack damage.

Back, started a new year at Uni and the sudden influx of work plus the rigours of being on a society committee (ie. having to go to every single freshers event) got the better of me. Freshers week is over now though and I am entirely sober and not quite as sleep deprived so good times. I am sorry about disappearing a lot at the moment, moving back to student house and lots of going away for weekends and stuff has eaten up lots of my time. Happily I have now run out of money so the going away thing isn't a problem and I am in my house so that is sorted too. I should be good until after christmas now so yeah, keep your planning involving a rogue/scout.
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
I'll add a yes vote as well if that helps, not part of the original group mind. Nightflier, never mind. I was going to suggest I go more bestial with claws and stuff but I think I'm pretty much going to stick with Anang the way he is now. He seems to be working pretty well and the only APG I would really want to use only kicks in at quite a lot higher level. As for the bonus trait, I think I'll just go with either the Ambidextrous trait or Lithe Acrobat.
Male Danisil - Evil Subtype Wildlander/1 Rogue/2
Okay that just sucks, the big bug can hit ragnar on a 1? Craziness. Feeling his wounds knitting themselves closed Anang glances round at Gillian. Seeing the strain healing him has put on her, he turns back to the huge bug, determined to finish the fight as quickly as possible. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 112d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3) + 1 = 8 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 252d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 5) + 1 = 11 critical confirmation 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 I keep getting these double criticals, but in pathfinder the second one does nothing. Oh didn't realise that both bugs came up together. As I was the opposite side to Sorok I assumed I'd be flanking and added the sneak attack damage. In that case I'll add the other attack and the damage on the first was only 3. Attack on second bug1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 242d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 5) + 1 = 8

Hearing Sorok's warning Anang aims a final slash at the spitting insect and then sprints over to stand opposite the dwarf, ready to attack the first thing to appear from the ground between them. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 162d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 4) + 1 = 11 So, my first round is a single attack and move to sorok and then I'll ready an action to attack whatever appears.
