Female Human Cleric (Irori)

After the hill giants were removed from their seat of power, Amelia plundered their libraries and all information they possessed. She returned to the church afterward.

She accompanied Kimeon during his travels up to the point of the giants expulsion from the surface. They then parted ways amicably.

Amelia began a push in the church of Irori to seek out former "inhospitable" places in the world and even other planes. Amelia accompanied her fellow churchmembers on these expeditions whenever she was able.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

How does that happen?

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

I'm in, go for 3.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

So what is a good feat for 3rd level? I'm thinking something divine.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

A bell sounds in the distance, Amelia feels more powerful and closer with Irori.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

"I meant on the dogs, hopefully they become aggressive with each other, attack each other or cause distraction.
I have no proficiency with bows either. I'm not of any help at this juncture."

Amelia will step away from the descending hole and wait for the others actions.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

I have no such instruments available. However, I would suggest using some food; if one could toss some at or on the goblins that should be down there somewhere, or on the dogs themselves, they would eat whatever they landed on, thereby saving us the trouble and creating a distraction for other elements of the plan being produced now.

I have some rations I could give for such an endeavor.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

He looks up at Amelia and wipes his fingers against the wellstone. "Does invading a goblin camp get us any closer to our goals here?"

To Kimeon:
"While a goblin encampment was not part of the original situation, we may need to move through their area to continue into the mountain. Protected areas usually have items of value or secrets, both of which would appeal to me, but I would say to investigate the other side of the tunnel and ascertain if this is the only way to go. If not, then the other way may be avoiding issues and we still find secrets, I mean to say we further our goals here to find what has been happening.
Traps are what such creatures are known for, I am not the type to find them, I could find anything magical along the way, traps or otherwise."

OOC XP awaits but not necessarily what Amelia would do

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

After the worms are dispatched, Amelia moves up to see what was happening.

Survival check 16+3=19

"I see it as well, it has been used recently."

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

You seem to have survived the ordeal so all is well, what was done?

I can call the PETG and see if they will support any future rehabilitation needs you may have or cover costs, I'm not sure of the exchange rate of gold pieces to american currency.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

So that means the PETG will not notice if Kimeon levels to 10 at the highest.
By extension, everyone else could accomplish the same level of competency, so long as we were quiet about it.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Amelia will do a spot and listen check

Spoiler:
(both 1+3=4, critical failures)

After she stubs her toe and something gets in her eye while listening by cupping her hand too hard over her ear she tries again

Spoiler:

(spot 20+3=23 and listen 11+3=14)

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

To Kimeon:
I feel that going northeast is good and bad, may lead to something we don't wish to see or conflict with. There are too many variables here, we will have to choose. After a few seconds of deliberationNortheast for me then.

To Gronck:
What do you smell? What kind of thing?

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Search (7+1=8), nothing

Amelia will look at the last of the natural light as it fades from view. She will then press on with the rest of the group, she has committed to this and will see it through, no matter the cost.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Amelia will enter the cavernous mouth and follow the others, using the hooded lanterns light as the light source. She has her torch ready to be removed if needed.

Amelia will look for anything of notice on the walls and floor, caricatures and the like.

"It appears that we are not alone here, be wary" she responds when she notices the stools that appear to be recently used.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

"There are no magics at the entryway. The runes indicate either a warning or welcome, can't tell exactly. There are no viable threats at this time."

Amelia will try to remember the runes and have parchment and ink ready for future runes to be copied.
Int check (15+1=16) to recall entry runes at a later time

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Amelia casts Read Magic on the runes and prepares for anything that happens.

Detect Magic is cast on the doorway if everyone else agrees

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

spot (13+3=16)
"It appears we have hosts within the architecture of this mountain they call Moru."

"Would anyone mind if I checked for magics prior to entry?"

Offhand "I do like the view, however dangerous it may be."

Amelia will look at the runes around the entryway and try to decipher their script (6+1=7). If that does not work she will cast Read Magic to learn of their purpose if she is able.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

"I say we get up this mountain as quickly as possible, storms are coming within 3 to 4 hours I'd wager and were about half a day from the upper area of the mountain.
If we rush we might make it in time or deal with little of the effects that storms bring to this region, I'd like to see them as long as it was not imminent danger.

Does anyone have other thoughts as to the situation?"

Amelia will tighten the neck area of her hooded robe while talking about the storm. She looks at Kimeon and Gronck expectantly.

If they pause she will say "You are the skilled survivalistic ones here, I am trusting you to lead us as quickly and ably as possible."

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Amelia will check the horse for anything, she carries everything on her person as it is.

Amelia will look up the path as far as possible, looking for potential threats and issues besides the obvious she can see; she mutters under her breath in Infernal about the path and its dangers.

spot 14 (11+3), since taking 20 is not allowed by RAW

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Before everyone leaves, Amelia states the following:
"The mountain trail leading off the point where Moru Road ends at is the Lost Pass junction. This ascending trail, known as the Moru Path, is the main access way inside Mount Moru; the official end of Moru Road is the Lost Pass, the way we just came. The only way to continue northward without going around Mount Moru is to take the Moru Path up into the mountain. (She points up the trail)

The Moru Path trail wanders up into the mountain for about a day’s
walk until it reaches the first tunnels into the Upper Areas inside Mount Moru, a little more than a mile above ground level. Nearly all of the explorers that come to Mount Moru use the Moru Path. The path ends, officially, at the entrance of the tunnels into the Upper Areas; the long trip inside Mount Moru then begins…"

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

"I suggest we send someone with scouting abilities ahead, I will follow him to keep him alive if something were to happen or drag him away.
Our order is important, as we need to compliment the abilities of those nearby, this could be a death trap if were not careful. I understand that is a known fact but I feel stating it makes it that much more important."

Amelia will not be riding a horse, she will attempt to lead one but if it becomes scared or tries to pull her into a dangerous spot she will release the reins.

Amelia will look through the Mount Moru guidebook and try to remember anything specific about the mountain and happenings near it. Take 20 on wis check=23 (I'm aware you can't take 20, I'm roleplaying as to say she is thinking very hard about this area).

Amelia will state that she overheard the bard talking about goblins supposedly in the area of the mountain base.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

If Gronck wishes it, I will cast Endure Elements on him to remove the feeling of wetness(it doesn't say in the spell specifically, just flavor textual).

While traveling, Amelia will try her best to keep the Mount Moru guidebook free of water or anything else that would damage it.

As to the lone wolf, Amelia will eye it warily at first. As it continues walking with them, when camp is made, Amelia will try to coax it close with a small offering of food and pet the creature. Amelia is prepared for the creature to react naturally and as such will move her hands and anything else away at the first signs of hostility from the wolf.

Amelia prepares Bless for the next morning, just in case.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

To Gronck:
"It is not a problem, helping others while pursuing ones goals go hand in hand. Don't eat the horses, for now, we may need them to come back."

To Kimeon:
"Did you discover what it is that you seek in life, a purpose? If not, I am willing to assist you with that if you wish."

Amelia will attempt to read the Mount Moru guidebook while riding carefully (take 10), effectively cutting her awareness down. She will look up every couple minutes to be sure she is with the group.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

To Tukonen:
"It may not be aesthetically pleasing, but I like it. I'm sure there are many places to explore, to plumb the secrets of the land. Danger brings rewards I want."

To all:
"In a world of dismal landscapes and rocky wasteland, of
calling winds and unnatural gloom, I can only imagine what there is to uncover. It feels like the land itself is trying to make you feel
unwelcome, I say let it come. I estimate the journey taking aproximately 3 - 4 days. I will be looking for any opportunity to present itself."

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Amelia will look at Kimeon and mouth "Honored"

Amelia will say to Gronck: "I prepared one magic for you, so you don't feel the wet."

Taking 20 on spot as we move, while riding very carefully. Spot total 23.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Amelia will curtsie to the crowd and begin the trek down the lonely road to Mount Moru, keeping a gait equal to the group.

OOC-She did prepare one Endure Elements for Gronck

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Amelia will stand and curtsie to the high priest when he is complete.
"You have my thanks for your hospitality. I may have use of the horn or one of the others to weild it in anger, I will be sure to discover its abilities; I'm confident you would not wish to see such a display.

I will keep the Mount Moru guidebook as safe as I can. I will attempt to forge a bond between the churches of Irori and Iri, so that we may assist each other in the future."

Amelia will move to the library and check Tukonen's progress, inform him of the proceedings with the high priest and bid him well for the night. She will take the Guide to Mount Moru with her, unless Tukonen is reading it; in that case she will have him secure it for her and return it in the morning.

With that, Amelia will retire to her room and sleep until a prudent time.
OOC-enough time to eat, dress, don armor and have 30 minutes before all must meet up

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Amelia will excuse herself from Tukonen's company after some hours have passed.
She will go to the high priests office and knock politely. If no answer, she will look for his quarters and do the same.

Her main goal is to find all information on the relic unicorn horn, its abilities, etc. Any and all information about the mount moru region, to include inhabitants, its complete history and legends. If such information is available in written form and is easier to distribute the knowledge that way, she will ask to borrow the tomes for the journey to use as a reference guide.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

wisdom check to remember the books information overall:

Spoiler:
11+3=14

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Kimeon said: "Those sweet rolls are baked fresh and come with honey. I'll be first in line at breakfast as long as they're around!"

Amelia will respond: "We shall see about that!"

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

To Tukonen, in a lower tone than normal:

Spoiler:
Dwell not on the halfling, such things can be redeemed. There is no reason to be nervous, I don't believe so anyway. Shall we go and educate ourselves further?

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Amelia will accept Tukonen's offering of his arm.

To Gronck:
"See you when the light returns to the sky. I can make it so that you are okay in the rain too."

To all:
"I am a cleric, so whatever needs one can think of in that capacity I should be able to accomplish. If nothing else, Tukonen and I will be in the library."

Amelia will depart to the library. She will attempt to find the high priest at a later time, as she had planned.

To Shaggy:

Spoiler:
Sense Motive check on Tukonen 17+8=25; words, posture and expressions

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

After High priest Deovain exits, Amelia will take a seat where she can, reclining at the same time.

To Kimeon:
"I am Amelia of Irori, I seek lost knowledge and history. What is it that you seek; I mean to say what is your purpose, if you wish to say that is?"

After a few seconds: "Where would I find these sweet cakes you refer to?"

To all:
"Is there anything that I can prepare for anyone this evening before we depart? If not, I will be in their library until the early morning hours; after I've spoken with the high priest if I am able."

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

As the halfling sizes everyone, Amelia will fix him with a stare.

Sense Motive on the halfling:

Spoiler:
20+8=28

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

To the high priest:
"I don't let looks deceive me, you must expect anything at anytime."

To Mr. Rake:
"What is it that you do exactly Mr. Rake? There is no point in assuming, one must know absolutely, at least that's what I believe."

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

To Gronck:
He said he will give us food and supplies to go to mountain. If we get unicorn horn at mountain, we get money.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

To the high priest:
"Who is the other occupant here? The one wishing to observe under a cowl?"

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Amelia will stand when it begins to rain, refill her waterskin, and stand there for a few minutes in the rain.

She will then enter the temple, looking for her compatriots on this journey. She will join them in the High Priest's office. Amelia will look over the cowled figure for any distinct features (spot 13, take 10). Amelia will let it be known that such a relic is indeed rare and she will enjoy the opportunity to search for it and if found, studying it and finding its abilities.

Upon greeting the high priest, "I am Amelia of Irori", she will conduct a quick curtsie to the high priest and the cowled figure.

Amelia will agree that both goals can be met, searching for the unicorn horn as well as the task of discovering the area of Mount Moru, thanking the high priest for his assistance. She will have a list of supplies ready.

Amelia will ask to speak with the high priest at a later time about all things concerning their journey, or when he is available.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Amelia has been looking over this large orc carefully since his arrival.

To Thavian:

Spoiler:
I agree with that thought, brute force does have its uses. We need to maintain some control over him though, he needn't destroy or prevent our retrieval of historical artifacts simply due to his emotional state.

To Gronck:
I am Amelia of Irori, seeker of knowledge and lore. From where do you hail and what is it that you seek?

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

"Poison, hm, that's something I haven't experienced yet."

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

To Tukonen:

Spoiler:
My need for knowledge is something I've had all my life. I will try anything once, that has brought some unpleasant results but such is life. I would like to travel abroad at some point but for now the church of Irori is able to sate that desire. I go on lore seeking missions for them, some of them are hazardous to my health but the end results will justify most things that happen to me.

Amelia winces slightly at being inferred to as a "master" by the bo, but she will accept the offering. She will have an apple and cheese and drink from her waterskin.
She will look out at the view, looking for anything that would be different or odd.

Take 20 on spot check: 20+3=23, anything seen?

To all:
"Be sure to gather any supplies you will be needing, this is the last bastion of "civilization" before the Morudhain lands and the unknown.
Any healing, church items and good luck charms actually, are available here."

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Along the way to the temple of Iri, Amelia will be observing the sights and taking mental notes of the area. Upon completion of the journey Amelia will take in a deep breath, sigh, "Looks like a fine place to live, simple and practical, I like the stonework. Have you a library?"

Knowledge religion check

Spoiler:
23 (18+5), what do I know?

About 10 seconds later
To Rann:
"Oh yes...need to speak with the High Priest. I'll leave that to you as it is your church or I can if you will be busy."

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

To Tukonen:

Spoiler:
Again we have the same goal in mind

"I am prepared. Shall we go priest?"

Amelia will readjust her pack and take a quick drink of her waterskin

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

"If everyone is ready, let us go.

Lead the way priest."

To Jack:
"Perhaps I was wrong in my initial thought, I was under the impression that those types did things for gold. Hm, oh well.
Also, you seem to have self control, when you feel it's necessary."

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Sense motive check on Jack Ketch's reply:

Spoiler:
19+8=27

To Jack:

Spoiler:
Amelia will give him a look indicating she believes him to be lying and says:
You wish to have your secrets, no harm would appear to come from that.

As for me, I've been cloistered all these years and finally getting a chance outside. (sarcastically toned)

I am curious about the ways of roguish types, it seems to suit me better. Too bad you don't look or act the part or I would inquire about learning the basics, which would of course require a transaction. I understand that is the goal of those types.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

OOC-Amelia took 20 to conceal her dagger, spot DC 23

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

Sense Motive check on the loud man and the fat man:

Spoiler:
14+8=22

Amelia will return the bow with a quick curtsie
To Jack:

Spoiler:
I am Amelia of Irori, and from whence do you hail?

If you have a knack for finding things hidden it would be quite the boon. Also to remove wards and the like that usually hide them, I can do so but i would rather save my efforts for when they are needed.

Keeping ones head is always a good thing, for without it everything would be much more difficult.

What is it that you do exactly? I can tell you what I think you would do but it is better to know it from the source.

To Tukonen:

Spoiler:
I would say "merry band" is a misnomer but we are of like mind in our quest for lore and our weapon of choice.

I am Amelia of Irori, what is your name and from whence do you hail?

Do understand that I intend to preserve as much as possible. I foresee possible conflict later when it comes time to determine who will possess the actual items or tomes, we will resolve that when it happens. I will make copies of all written knowledge, time permitting, while there or afterwards if we are able.

"Whispering conspiratorially to Tukonen"-Basically I live to uncover knowledge and share it with the world, no matter the cost.

What is it that you do exactly? You do not appear to be one who would risk themselves.

"I cannot speak for everyone hear, but I would not have issue with this arrangement."

Amelia looks at the priest: "Will this be enough people for your mission?"

Absently she says "Coming together so well, is this providence?"

OOC: Amelia would be speaking in a low tone with well thought out and fluid speach patterns, as it is natural for her

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

To Thavian:

Spoiler:
While I do not approve of the desire for exploration due to avarice, there is undoubtedly usefulness in this man.

To the priest:

Spoiler:
What you can afford us is appreciated. We will attempt to gather people for this venture.

Amelia will look around the bar for any suitable looking people, she will then mount the bar itself and proclaim loud enough to garner attention:
"Excuse me...we seek some people for a trip into the Moru country, those of hardy stature and world wise are most suited but if you have skills that help you survive and you can apply that to others it would be suitable. Please see the priest there (pointing at Rann) as he is the collaborator of this venture. No treasure hunters please."

When she is complete, she will dismount the bar and wait for any results. She will also clean the area where she was standing on the bar.

Female Human Cleric (Irori)

In a low tone to the priest and Thavian:

Spoiler:
"Advice and firsthand knowledge of the area is what I require. I will leave now or accompanied, whichever is most expedient for our needs.

What are your names, by the way? I am Amelia, as I have stated.

If we were to need a place to sleep for the night would that be available at the temple or would it have to be here? What I truly need in the way of supplies is parchment, preferably an as yet unwritten tome or bound pages; lastly one of those magic bags that hold anything you need in safety.

I feel I must inform you that it is my intention to, having recovered items of significance, be it penned or otherwise, to copy all of it twice for each church. The originals would be sealed away for safekeeping."

Amelia will refill her waterskin, gather and check all her belongings and be ready for if they wish to go as a group. If not, she will meet them at the temple. She will try to make contact with High Priest Deovain as soon as possible, for information about everything having to do with the venture.
