Divine Protection - This is an unusually powerful feat despite the existing prerequisites and it is very similar to the Divine Grace class feature for a Paladin. Would you consider updating the errata so that it also requires the character to also be lawful good? At least, that ensures that the feat is consistent with the existing requirements for getting your Charisma bonus to saving throws.

Thanks again ... :) yes - Sheila should be scowling. I know I miss the Florida folk too (now that we're in NZ). And I tried to do the "breathy voice" but got all choked up.

My initial reactions are as follows from the least favorable to most:

1. Brawler & Swashbuckler - why bother? We're playing a game about MAGIC and neither of these classes provide spellcasting options. So why even waste the paper to print these when you can already play a non-spellcasting class from the core book.
2. Bloodrager & Skald - almost as bad as the first category but only because these are based on the Barbarian class. Every Barbarian I've ever come across is nothing more than a min/maxed character. So why bother diluting that core class with spellcasting options.
3. Arcanist & Hunter - I consider these to be the "grey" class options. If you can't choose between being either: Wizard/Sorceror or Ranger/Druid then then these offer a nice blend. But just becoz you mix orange with red and get an orange-red doesn't mean you've actually created anything original (or any good).
4. Investigator & Slayer - rogue variants which I think have good potential. However, the rogue is easily the most customized character class already so am not sure how these will provide new true alternate classes. I also think I see some use of the D20 action point (where you get to add D6 to D20 rolls) which I'm not fond of (but will go into that more another time).
5. Shaman & Warpriest - interesting concepts and worth a read. I like the Warpriest becoz I'm sick of the Cleric as a hand-maiden to the figher classes. And I like the combination of arcane and divine in the Shaman.

As stated before, my initial reactions so I have yet to read the details. So more opinions to come regarding the structure of the classes. In addition, I'll probably create a PFS organized play character this week in the latter two categories and be able to give an actual character playtest after that.

Congrats Chris. It was awesome to hear you make an announcement today during our PFS event. Hope to hear many more. It was awesome to hear about our new VLs and GMs too. So far - I'm really glad to see the PFS community that you've help to build.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

:) Glad that everybody enjoyed the costumes ... I did the Sheila Heidmarch costume ... and confess that much of it was prepared just before I left for GenCon ... although I did spend quite a bit of time before then preparing it ... the tiara, necklace and wayfinder out of fimo; the gown was hand-painted (shame it didn't come out in the photo but there is a Glyph of the Open Road worked into it along with all the different faction symbols); there were 3 layers to the skirt: white petticoat which came from my wedding dress and two layers of blue knit ...

I am looking forward to more ideas from Paizo ... maybe another unique recurring character to costume as ... hopefully something which can be worked into their PFS scenarios which are my fav to GM, play and review ... thank you to Wayne Reynolds who inspired the costume ... looking forward to many others ...

Our group is looking for one or maybe two more players at GenCon 2013 to help us with the PFS special event on Friday August 16th at 7pm. You will need to have a character who is at least 14th level and the requisite ticket(s) for the event. We are looking for an amicable adult player whose character is primarily a damage dealer.

You'll be playing with a team of four 15th level characters - myself, my husband and my two best female gamer friends. We are a mature group who enjoy good company and have traditionally adventured with two other males - both who are unable to aid us. One got deported (druid) and the other has chosen GM-exile-hood (barbarian).

As such, you need to be comfortable gaming with women - we expect you to have above average gamer communication skills. I play a Paladin who specializes in "distraction". My husband (WhiskeyJack) plays a witch. One of my friend plays a Cleric - but don't expect her to be your wet-nurse. And my other friend plays a Monk - but don't get her upset or you lose your wing-woman.

Please feel free to send me a private message if you should be interested (or post here if you want rely on my ability to weed through the thread). We thrive on promoting a fun gaming experience for all: including our GM - who we generally develop a rapport with. We also believe that we work incredibly well as a team and hope you can help enhance that.

Hi Everybody,

Just wondering if anybody knew of a Pathfinder Society (organized play) module which gives the Handy Haversack as a reward item?

Thanks,
Amber
