Player: James Martin
Amahl is just wrapping up The Stolen Heir and will be good to go within a couple days!
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
"Present or absent, we will allow you to speak so long as you do not lie outright or threaten the man with anything other than justice. He must know, as a public official, that even a hint of scandal is enough to ruin his career." Speaking as a public official in real life...Hoo boy.
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
"I don't think we can take the chance of using magic. If you fail, or even if you succeed, if he holds such coercion against the Society then we have truly failed in our mission. I believe you must use only your diplomacy and guile in this, Cypher. And I think we all ought to be there."
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Amahl sighs deeply. "Our mission is not to root out corruption, only to retrieve Thalia and secure military aid for the Society. If this Bryton can do that, I have no problem with telling him of the evidence we have and what will be done with it unless he's willing to make a deal. We have solid evidence on Koriana and Tercio Andares directly implicating them in our primary mission. They get turned over to Captain Demrick along with the evidence we have." Amahl nods at Shera. "I don't believe more evidence is needed for Tercio, he's well implicated here and I expect the alchemist will turn on him in return for clemency. As for Bryton, let's approach him first before we commit larceny."
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Amahl bows slightly to Cypher. "My friend, please do not mistake my disapproval for your tactics with any lack of respect. Your skills are very useful and quite impressive, but Saranrae teaches that we must strive always to live fully in the light. I do not chastise out of anger, but rather fear. I fear what may befall you if you walk too close to the shadows. You are precious to Saranrae and to us, as well. I wish only the best in life for you. I apologize if my lack of tact came across as disrespect. I did not intend it so."
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Amahl shakes his head. "Using their tools only lowers you to their level. You are better than that. If you consider it a challenge to lie and cheat, then imagine what a challenge it would be to accomplish the same goals without those tools."
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Once the woman is secured and her mooks secured and healed enough to be out of immediate danger of death, Amahl sighs. "Now, let's see if we can find those papers. Search this place, but be careful. I'd hate to damage the wares." Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Amahl sighs deeply and moves over to the woman. He looks toward the others. "She is a criminal, but she must live to face trial. I have a wand here that will heal her, but I need someone with the skill to use it." He hands his wand to whoever can use it and sets about tying the alchemist's hands tightly and gagging her. "Cypher, lying in the service of good only lowers us to the level of these criminals. Farith was right: she has admitted to a crime and should face justice. Let us heal her friends well enough to move them and see to bringing them to Captain Demrick immediately."
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Amahl nods to Cypher and drops his sword. Instead he focuses on nonlethal damage with his fists! Flurry vs Green, NL: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 damage!
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 Amahl shakes his head. "I must refuse, thank you. I do not drink with those with whom I may have a grudge. Especially one who is skilled with alchemy! I daresay you're more honorable than this, but I don't fancy being a newt!" He smiles, trying to make it plain he's not accusing her, just jesting. "As my comrade said, we're investigating on behalf of the Pathfinder Society, who wishes to secure aid for our defense of the World Wound. It was hoped that recovering Andares' daughter would make him view our request favorably. But I fail to see your gain here. What do you benefit if his daughter is missing? Are you hoping for a ransom?"
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Amahl notes the abundant stock and the displays. He nods in appreciation of the professionalism he sees. Out of respect, he decides to be direct and honest. "Koriana, I wish we were here on a mission of less importance and consequences. We discovered this note, perfumed with alchemical scents and in your hand, implicating you in the kidnapping of Thalia Andares here. In addition your man here looked very surprised to see her with us, which leads me to believe he was an accomplice or at least had knowledge of the crime. How do you answer these charges?" Amahl sets himself so that no one can sneak past him to the exit without him having the opportunity to stop them.
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 Amahl notices the surprise and nods to the man as Frankie heads over to the farmer. To the mustashio'd man he smiles. "Good day, sir! Do you happen to work for the shop here? Are you the alchemist I've been so eager to meet?"
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Amahl moves up in front of the farmer, drawing his sword as he goes. He sets himself and readies himself to attack if a dog gets close enough! Readied attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 damage!
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
"The Morillas? Like the current head of the Sovereign Court faction?" He asks his fellow pathfinders. "This alchemist, she works with your father? Why would she have motive to see you kidnapped?" Amahl's brow furrows. He's used to scheming in business, but to stoop to kidnapping?
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
"Indeed. Someone wrote this at an Alchemist's shop, or somewhere there is a lab at least. We ought to follow up and see what we find there." Amahl nods. "Miss Thalia, it is good to see you alive and well! You have a historian's eye, can you make heads or tails of this contract we found?"
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Amahl points out the alchemical smudges on the paper, though he cannot tell what they are. Seeing the box that Farith retrieves, he nods. "Let us put your agile fingers to good use, my cocoa-loving friend!"
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Amahl sighs. "But WHY are you taking a girl from Andoran to Galt?!? DO they not have women there already? Is she made of sex?" He ignores his wounds and attacks the man again. Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 damage!
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Amahl sighs. "I think all sorts of mistakes have been made 'ere, my friend! Surrender and give us the girl, and we allow you to leave without further harm." If he doesn't surrender, Amahl attacks in a flurry with his 9 ring sword! Sword: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 for 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 damage!
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
In case it matters, Amahl has the feat deflect arrows, so he will make himself a target of any archers. Amahl smiles at the thick Galtan accent. "Gentlemen! Surely we can all speak as men without resorting to violence?" Then the arrow flies. "Or perhaps violence is your language?" Amahl double moves up to the steps straight ahead, crossing the marked area on the map! Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Sense the damn motive already: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 Amahl nods. "You understand, Mayor, that our very presence in town may be construed as helping you, even if in private you choose not to speak with us. We too wish your daughter returned safe and sound to you. If you speak with us, you can insure she remains safe. We are very good at our jobs." Bluff: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Amahl bows slightly to the Mayor. "Mayor Andares, we represent the Pathfinder Society and have been tasked with offering our assistance in the recovery of your daughter. No disrespect to the Eagle Knights, but we are accustomed to acting quietly and covertly, sir. And we always get results." Amahl introduces himself, then each member of the team. Just shortening the conversation a little!
HP 25/25; AC 14, T 14, FF 12; F+5, R+5, W+2; Perc +7, Init +2, evasion
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16 Amahl smiles at the woman. "Good day, madame. Perhaps you could let Mr. Andares know we are here and at his service. We are here to bring the issue of his missing daughter to a safe and happy end." |
