Perfect, thanks!

Okay, that I understand. In this case, they give you these alchemist fires that represent 1 treasure bundle each:

Lost on the Spirit Road wrote:

Rewards: Regardless of their initial interactions, the villagers are deeply grateful for the PCs’ help fending

off the rampaging monsters. They provide the PCs with two alchemical items (three if the PCs succeeded at two or three skill checks during their investigation) that they think will help the PCs defeat similar creatures in the Forest of Spirits. The specific type of alchemical item they receive is detailed in Table 1: Village Details (page 16). Each of these consumables represents 1 Treasure Bundle, for a total reward of 2 or 3 Treasure Bundles depending upon the PCs’ success during the investigation.

Which seems odd to me. Does that mean that you can use it during the adventure, but if you do, you lose out on a Treasure Bundle?

Going to give a little time to RP before I move you along down the road...

There is some Greek influence, yes, particularly in the native fauna--minotaurs, centaurs, harpies.

Unfortunately the player's guide isn't publicly available :( There's more of an expectation for the Beginner Box that you'll be playing in person and the GM will provide you with the player's guide (or the Hero's Handbook as it's called). It has a single-player adventure, details on character creation and how to play, but not much about the setting as I mentioned above. There's some blurbs about the area in the World Guide, but that's really it.

Okay. Are there any campaign backgrounds that may be available to us?

Is treasure like old 1e PFS where you get to keep consumables if unused? I am confused by 'each of these consumables represents 1 treasure bundle'. Does this mean that you either keep the consumable or get a treasure bundle? Or does it mean that at the end of the module, you don't keep the alchemist's fire but can use the money to purchase it if you want to keep it?

Toasty fights off the effects of the dark necromancy, feeling some of his life force being fed on by this doll! Toasty takes 14 void damage. But his retort is devastating as it blasts the doll across the dirt! Combat over.

The villagers are very thankful and give you a variety of items and food to show their gratitude. The old lady gives you all a big grin and shuffles into her home, re-emerging a minute later with a lacquered box and presses it into the Veiled Lady's hands, This was left here a while back. I don't know what it is, but maybe it will help you? Here it is yours.

It is easily recognizable to you adventurers as a pair of bottles of moderate alchemist's fire.

Will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 I do not see a DC, but I assume that is enough for a success, so 3 dmg goes through.

Creepy Doll -17 hp

The doll looks at all of you and its head lolls to the side as it grabs for Toasty's throat, its hand glowing a sickly green! Toasty, please make a basic Fort save, DC 18.

Void damage: 6d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 5, 6, 3) = 28

Remember that you get a +1 to that save from Krinolyn's forbidding ward!

Grand Lodge

Okay, I was wondering if they were making a new adventure for the revised box. I noticed that it is on the isle of Kortos. Isn't that, culturally, like Greek or something? I may change things so that Tama is more hoplite flavored...

EDIT: I don't see a Player's Guide for this. Do you have a link?

Grand Lodge

Where does the new Beginner Box take place?

EDIT: I would like to tie the backstory to the hometown of the box...

EDIT^2: Are they coming out with a revised Box?

Grand Lodge

Bump. ^_^

Grand Lodge

I can come up with something else too, if it is needed. I also have an idea for a rogue, a monk, and wizard. ^_^

Oop. I didn't notice that you had posted!

Horul comes down over Toasty's head onto the remaining doll! It reels with the hit! Reflex save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 Its head snaps up as it notes the casting bugbear and dives to the side, mitigating the damage a bit! Doll Green takes 10 slashing and 4 electricity damage!

Waiting on Krinolyn. Toasty, you may post your action, but I will adjudicate it after Green goes.

The remaining doll scrambles up, just in time to see its partner get immolated by Toasty's flaming club, with an unholy scream of pain and torment! Blue Doll is dead!

The creepy fae creature screams at Toasty, or at least you think that is who he is screaming at, and charges up to Toasty and Jack Toasty can take a Reactive Strike if he has one. Once flanking Toasty, he stabs at the Goblin!

Shortsword: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 Miss
Shortsword: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 9 - 4 = 15 Miss

Ramona thinks back to what she knows of these creatures. The creepy fae, is a Jinkin and its lowest save is Fortitude. She also happens to know that it is weak to cold iron. Critical success! However, she does not recognize the creepy dolls! She produces her doll, Banjo and with some quick finger movements Banjo starts dancing!

With a wave of her hand, a divine shield briefly shimmers before Toasty, and the Veiled Lady raises her own wooden shield...

Horul lands a hefty strike, exploding fire upon the doll before Toasty! The doll, however, does not seem to be affected by the poison at all... Is there any persistent damage from the fire?

Hopefully next week. I will be submitting Tama, half-orc fighter and smith. Found as a wee lad by Ameiko in her adventuring days and adopted by one of the Minkai families that served her father, Tama left to discover new materials and forging techniques. Oh, it is an older road, much less traveled. We warned them that it heads into heavier woods for several days' journey before rejoining the main road, but they were insistent on taking this road... she explains as she shakes her head slowly. Caravans stopped traveling that route because the kami and youkai thrive in that heavier wood. I hope that they have not angered any of them...

As if on cue, a scream rings out from Southern end of the village square, then another from the North!

Horul and the Veiled Lady help the old lady restring the charms, eliciting a chuckle, Well, that will keep the dark spirits at bay, to be sure.

The elder woman stands and watches the other companions playing with the children. She looks at Veiled Lady Krinolyn, You were asking about your friends, the X'ian couple?

After confirmation, she moves back to her bonsai before continuing, They stopped here to rest a few days prior, or was it a week, two? I am sorry, my memory is not as strong as it once was. I do remember that they had, oddly, decided to leave out the East road.

Grand Lodge

Cool, will keep an eye open! ^_^

GM Qstor, what are you thinking of running?

Grand Lodge

MACROS | RPG Chronicles | Slides

Oh, oh yes, I remember that couple. A cute couple they were! the elder starts when one of those paper charms falls on her head! Oh bother! Now I need to put them up again!

The old lady busies herself with gathering the charms, completely forgetting that she was in conversation...

You can do one of two things, you can attempt to make a Diplomacy check to try and keep her attention. Or you can make a Religion or Occultism check to help her replace the charms quickly and remove her distraction. Additionally, maybe the children playing out front may know something too... if someone wants to make an Acrobatics with them, maybe they can be befriended...

Grand Lodge

MACROS | RPG Chronicles | Slides

The old woman adjusts her glasses, Oh, gaijin, I am sorry. I get so confused sometimes...

She looks out at the playing children with a smile, It has been many years since I had their youth...

Grand Lodge

Oh, hello little one! You are a strange little kami... I have never seen your like before, the kindly old woman fully distracted from her broken charm.

Grand Lodge

MACROS | RPG Chronicles | Slides

As you all head over to the old lady's house, you see a bunch of kids playing out front. They seem to be trying to do handstands and cartwheels. When one falls over the others laugh and try the same trick...

The old lady is bent over a small pine and seems to be making small trimmings. As you approach, some paper charms fall from a thick braided rope hanging from the edges of her roof... Oh bother...

Grand Lodge

MACROS | RPG Chronicles | Slides

Good to know. I don't know much about what that means, so I will rely on you to explain it when it comes into play.

Grand Lodge

MACROS | RPG Chronicles | Slides

The woman takes in the information given, frowning, I don't remember anyone of that description. Try checking with old woman Uematsu. You can find her on the Western end of town. She's the one with the bonsai out front... She notes the puzzled look on your faces, Um, miniature pines.

As far as I could tell, those were 1e games and I much prefer 2e. But as was mentioned we are all going to apply for the Rusthenge to Seven Dooms game that Cellion is recruiting for soon. Here's hoping I get chosen!

The lady that Krinolyn approaches jumps slightly, then begins to shower the little leshy with offerings, but as if just realizing something apologizes, Did you just speak? Are you kami?

Although Sakakabe is the closest city to the forest of Spirits, it still takes several weeks of travel on a road that winds through the Osogen Grasslands to reach the Forest of Spirits. Along the way, you cross paths with travelers
heading south into Minkai, as well as the nomadic herders who call the rolling plains home, but none of them has seen the missing caravan.

When you enter the Forest of Spirits, the atmosphere changes drastically. The forest is cool, damp, and profoundly alive. Snow blankets the ground and clings to branches of towering pine and spruce trees. Birds, rodents, foxes, deer, bears, and numerous other creatures roam through the woods, keeping their distance from the road. The density of the trees suggests that logging is almost unheard of in this forest. Animals are not the only creatures moving out in the woods; you occasionally see unexplained movement in the trees and rocks or feel like someone is watching them. As you all progress through the forest, you visit several small villages, none of which have seen the caravan you are looking for. You can find signs of passage from several caravans and groups that travelled on foot, and the remains of campsites right next to the trail. However, there are no indications that any of these groups came to harm.

Eventually, you arrive at a village called Suboyashi. The village is thriving, with the villagers bustling about. Oddly, it is breezy, with almost a constant wind gently blowing through the boughs of the pines surrounding the village.

Grand Lodge

Is there a Players Guide for Rusthenge?

Grand Lodge

Yay! Okay, looking at peoples' choices, I will go with the Dromaar Fighter, and I am thinking of maybe taking either the Lost Coast Local background or Barkeep and be tied to the Rusty Dragon.

Grand Lodge

MACROS | RPG Chronicles | Slides

Is this intentional? Is Ramona making a dramatic entrance? ^_^

Grand Lodge

Ah. I am okay with that.

Grand Lodge

What is Ancestral Paragon?

I am okay with Free Archetype...

I am a fighter-guy mostly, with a healthy mix of monk. Wizard would be a bit of a stretch for me. Been looking at champion too, but want to see what Remastered does with it before I jump into that pool.

I am happy with Remastered, but am not averse to someone using PF2e standard if they want.

I think two or three others would be ideal.

EDIT: I thought it was a feat, so would that rule mean that you get it free at 3rd, like Free Archetype at 2nd?

Grand Lodge

I either want to play a human monk, or a dromaar fighter. Though a human wizard might be fun too...

Blackfeather Jack wrote:

”Oh my!”, Jack gasps. ”I hope they’re alright!”

He ponders the situation a moment, then adds, ”Do you know about the proper respect and traditions, or should we ask the locals about that too?”

The Venture Captain frowns, It is not my specialty, but treat them with respect and perhaps the villagers can give you information on particular traditions. Each kami probably has their own traditions and observances...

Krinolyn ”Veiled Lady” Styncorn wrote:

"Those departed souls, are they hostile? How about the kami?" she asks while soaking herself with the spent moist tea leaves.

Amara Li scrunches up her face, Many souls that cannot move on can be hostile, so it would serve you to be wary. Though most just wander. If you stay on the path, you should be okay... The kami, on the other hand are not normally hostile. There have been known instances of them attacking, but normally something would have to be very wrong for them to lash out.

Horul wrote:

So it’s a mission: save the soldiers Lin Po and Ti Lan. Can we get a map of the region to make a plan?

Of course, she unfurls a map onto the table, after the geisha clean the empty tea cups and plates from it. This is a very basic map of the region. Follow the main road through the forest, since that is the path that your predecessors took, and hopefully, you can find clues as to their whereabouts... They do not give any map more that what is in the slides, so it is pretty linear. She gives you the map she has so you have one in-game.

Blackfeather Jack & Veiled Lady:
You recall hearing something about the kami. They are mostly benign spirits that can sometimes possess living creatures, but rather than exert control they share memories with their host.
