Jumping up as the flickering began, desperately wanting to do something, but utterly helpless. Councillor Aibek called out Nexus's name and apologized over and over as she gripped Azerna's hand tightly.

In the panic, Aiday Aibek felt the warmth of Azerna and Rinat by her side. She hadn't noticed Rinat had shifted to their human form, until she felt a tight grip on her other hand.

I'm so sorry, I thought we had more time...

Those last words stuck in her mind as she sat in an inn near Katapesh's docks. Aiday had spent those first chaotic weeks trying to be the advocate councillor the people of Khalharum needed - helping them get out, helping them figure out where to go next, dealing with authorities and others who didn't really like hundreds of people suddenly coming in under weird circumstances.

Eventually, when most of the dust had blown in various ways, Aiday invited some of the women from her training group, the ones she had been giving special training, to a meal before they all went their separate ways. She gave them all a gift, some of the leftover Druchite material that she had carved with sigils during those early sleepless, before saying "Rinat and I are going to Absalom, I'm going to talk to Selena, tell her what happened, and then Rinat and I going to start looking for interdimensional experts who might be able to help. Absalom has some of the steadiest connections to some of the other planes so seems a place to start. Between that and the drops I was making...when I find them, I'll try my best to get in touch.

She held a pile of papers in her hand. She checked and double-checked their information. The papers were covered in names. So many names - Ayreth, Azri, Kara and Dosa, Xandrius, Elie and her family, Quera, Pelar, many members of the Yao clan, as many people as she could find, covering pages. Names of people and where they were intending to go. She rolled the papers up and put them in the map case with her sketched up maps of Khalharum, the unclaimed islands, surrounding seas with markers for the merfolks, and a page with the other list of names. Those who weren't there, the ones who made it not quite everyone - That Which Walks Besides, Kosi and her whelp, those of construct village, and a few others. There was one name she couldn't yet bring herself to write down among the missing. There was a familiar tree down the right hand side of a page.

That night, she stood with Rinat on the docks near a large ship taking on cargo and passengers. "I know you really wanted to run back. I did too - so so much. Thank you, for staying and helping. I'm not sure how I could have done this without you."

"We're going to find her, I'm done losing those I love. Maybe I couldn't win as a Shadow Champion or as a Councillor, and I don't know how long it will take, but we're going to find all of them, bring Khalharum back, free our friend from Deus, and be back in that inn eating your mother's cooking someday."

"You think so? Really?" Rinat shifted uncomfortable under the backpack. Spending so long in human form had been tiring.

In the faint light of the docks, she held up her hand with a bittersweet smile. Her symbol was still changing and in the last week, alongside the other three lines, a fourth green line had appeared wrapped around her first finger where Aiday now wore her wooden ring. Azerna was out there somewhere, safe with her tree and Nexus. They were all out there somewhere.

"Not all the time, but I'm going to do what I can to make it happen. I have promises to keep, my whelp." She gently ruffled Rinat's soft green hair, much as her own parents used to do, "and right now, we have a ship to catch."

Jumping up as the flickering began, desperately wanting to do something, but utterly helpless. Councillor Aibek called out Nexus's name and apologized over and over as she gripped Azerna's hand tightly.

Azri had a point that deities weren't always so immortal, but Deus - like Nexus - was more complex than one form, targeting anything would be difficult.

At the Gnoll's question about summoning big rocks, Rinat looked to Azri with keen excited expression.

The previous remark about Nexus being the nascent form, it was very similar to Aibek's own thoughts on what was needed, but it still raised niggling feelings that came out in a tumble, "I consider Nexus a friend and fellow Councillor, they have similar origins to Deus, but from what Deus has told us about her councillors, the differences started long ago. I do not command them, I don't want...but I do ask for help when needed, and you're right that with so much on the line, Nexus's unique knowledge might be the best way."

Aibek anxiously fiddled with the ring on the necklace, "Nexus? You're uniquely qualified to help us stop that and her...permanently. I would appreciate if you could help us come up with strategies for this. Even if it's just where to aim and what size rocks." Aibek attempted a weak laugh. Aibek got an uncomfortable feeling talking about Nexus's potential weaknesses in front people they barely knew.

With a look back to the Gnolls, Aibek asked "Can we arrange a time and place to meet soon to hash this out more? I'd like time to gather the other councillors to discuss this with Nexus before moving forward..."

The target being Nexus's mad doppleganger from another time-space-thing was certainly going to make that difficult.
Ability Score: +2 to Wisdom (+ associated raise in Will Save & skills)

Shadowdancer Level 2: HD, 8 skill points, +1 BAB, +1 Reflex

New-to-Aibek Shadowdancer Abilities:
Ki Pool: By spending 1 point from their ki pool, a shadowdancer can make one additional attack at their highest attack bonus, but they can do so only when making a full attack. In addition, they can spend 1 point to increase their speed by 20 feet for 1 round. Finally, a shadowdancer can spend 1 point from their ki pool to give themself a +4 insight bonus on Stealth checks for 1 round. Each of these powers is activated as a swift action. A shadowdancer can gain
additional powers that consume points from their ki pool as they advance in level and by selecting certain shadowdancer tricks.
The ki pool is replenished each morning after 8 hours
of rest or meditation; these hours do not need to be consecutive.

Shadowdancer Trick: Combat Trick - Precise Shot: Whenever you and an ally who also has this feat are flanking the same the creature, you deal an additional 1d6 points of precision damage with each successful melee attack. This bonus damage stacks with other sources of precision damage, such as sneak attack. This bonus damage is not multiplied on a critical hit.

Mythic Update:
Recuperation (Ex)
At 3rd tier, you are restored to full hit points after 8 hours of rest so long as you aren’t dead. In addition, by expending one use of mythic power and resting for 1 hour, you regain a number of hit points equal to half your full hit points (up to a maximum of your full hit points) and regain the use of any class features that are limited to a certain number of uses per day (such as barbarian rage, bardic performance, spells per day, and so on). This rest is treated as 8 hours of sleep for such abilities. This rest doesn’t refresh uses of mythic power or any mythic abilities that are limited to a number of times per day.

Master of Shapes Path Ability: Volatle Blood (Su): You may expend a use of mythic power as an immediate acton when you are struck in combat by a melee atack, if you do your blood violently explodes on contact with the air. Treat this explosion as though you had hit the atacker with a bomb as per the alchemist class feature of your ter. You and all other adjacent characters are effected by splash damage as normal. If you have discoveries from a source applicable to bombs you may apply them to this explosion.

Mythic Feat: Mythic Shadowblade Style
The shadow assassin can add any of the following weapon properties to his shadowblade (consuming an amount of enhancement bonus equal to the property’s cost): bane, frost, ghost touch, icy burst, keen, vicious, vorpal, wounding. Aibek can use all but the vorpal.

With the time skip, Aibek's feat from 7th Level will now come into effect:
Leadership: This feat enables you to attract a loyal cohort and a number of devoted subordinates who assist you. A cohort is generally an NPC with class levels, while followers are typically lower level NPCs. Base Leadership Score: 12. 1 Cohort (Lv 6, as they must be 2 levels below PC), 8 followers.

Cohort's update is almost complete, I just need to finish their class trait Personas.

Aibek now has the Shadow Champion armour that they've discussed with Pelar repaired with Druchite and Darkleaf Cloth.

I'll do a fluff-piece of the time skip and a post about getting to the bridge in a bit.
Aibek's update:

After Mihara left, Aibek talked a bit longer with the Leshy, both in general interest and to arrange to visit later after this trouble was over, preferably late one evening. There certainly seemed to be things that Aibek was happy to offer to help them with and talking to Azerna's little ones was more than a little entertaining whether or not Aibek got any aid in return. Also, their shadows seemed to enjoy their company as well which at this point was a big bonus.

Finally, Aibek headed down to the docks. Aibek had spent regular time talking with the dock workers so hoped finding a couple boats and people who would be willing - with appropriate compensation - to help rescue the missing.
