Has anyone read the core book, GMed, or played it yet? I've found a couple of live plays on YouTube which I've enjoyed, but I haven't played or GMed yet. I'll post more when that changes.

My initial thought upon reading is that it will be a more serious game than D&D 5e due to the lack of a magic system. It will also be a more dangerous game considering how short and long rests are dependent upon the characters' location as well as requiring much more time.

So, I would like to ask for this simple favor; can someone let me know what its benefits are to a player? I'm completely drawing a blank.

It was short (no more that 36 pages) b&w printed with only cover in color, by some 3rd party publisher.

Adventure itself was early to mid levels (between 3rd and 7th level PCs, i believe) it's starts as usual 'bandits are stopping and robbing caravans' but unusual is there is no survivors. Once PC start to investigate, they discover some bandit leaders ( i believe there was humanoid bandits, maybe gnolls too) have a parasite on their neck. The investigation leads deep in forest to old hillfort, and then to dungeon under hill, where BBEG is revealed as escaped Osyluth trying to build a base of operation with help of parasite monster taking control of local area by expanding parasite controlled network.

There was one memorable trap in dungeon - sloped hall, with barricade at lower end, and a oil pipe at the top, operated from the other side of wall, that can be opened to make stide slippery, and set on fire as well (unfortunately, together with baricade)
I was once GMing an adventure but that was about 20 years ago and i no more have the printed book. You see, I've got a novel I'm (slowly) working on, that I plan to get published someday. And I was planning on including the mention of the Thrasfyr as existing in-setting, since it's a part of the open content on the Pathfinder PRD.

But, am I legally in the right to use the creature? I'd also like to use several other Pathfinder open-content creatures in the setting, albeit with different backstories (Gorzraghs and Neothelids are aliens, the Thrasfyr are the annoyingly fecund creations of a crazy wizard, the Aboleth are nuclear-waste-mutated Machiavellian catfish that infest the American South, ect.), so I'd like to know.

You can read what I've got so far here, setting-wise it's more like Earthbound or Dr. McNinja than Conan or Lord of the Rings.
It's not quite a a game-rule, but it is a "rule" per-say, so I decided to speak of it here.
