PaizoCon Online 2021 begins Friday, May 28th and runs through Monday, May 31st. The event features live seminars and live-plays on Twitch, games scheduled via Warhorn and run on a variety of VTT platforms such as Roll20, Fantasy Grounds, Astral, and D20Pro, an official PaizoCon Online Discord server as a general hangout for con-goers, plus new product reveal blogs on paizo.com, and more! Additionally, PaizoCon Online 2021 will feature the launch of Starfinder Society Year 4 and a multi-table celebration event for the Pathfinder Adventure Card Society!

Badges for PaizoCon Online 2021 cost $25 for the weekend and are available through our Warhorn PaizoCon page! Badges go on sale 22 Feb 2021 and player game selection opens 1 April 2021.

We’ve partnered with the Organized Play Foundation for GM recruitment. GMs who run four or more games during PaizoCon receive a complimentary badge. For a full list of GM benefits as well as how to register to GM, visit the Organized Play Foundation website. GM registration opens 16 Feb 2021.

We are working on the schedules and a PaizoCon Online 2021 homepage and will update our community with more details as they become available. Meanwhile, attendees can create a paizo.com account, get an organized play number, join the Paizo Events discord server which will act as the PaizoCon convention hub, and volunteer to GM through the Organized Play Foundation. On 22 Feb, attendees can purchase their weekend badge via Warhorn.

Ticket holders for PaizoCon 2020 who rolled their tickets over to PaizoCon 2021 will have their tickets continue to roll over automatically. Attendees may request a refund by emailing customerservice@paizo.com.

Very disappointed this isn't in person.

I feel genuine sympathy for those who could have and would have attended in person and are missing out on the experience. As someone who doesn't and can't, however, I'm thrilled to be able to watch all the seminars again.

I hope that, in a future where travel and physical gatherings are safe again, Paizo will consider streaming the seminars anyway for those of us unable to attend for financial or logistical reasons.

They did stream most of the seminars in 2019, so there is precedent for them to go back to doing that whenever they resume physical conventions.

Then again, the reports of "con crud" in pre-pandemic times were enough to scare me away from this convention even back then....

Wow, I'm doing so poorly right now, that I read your comment and realized I'm so desperate for in-person interaction that I genuinely miss even con crud. Obviously not with COVID, but like, just the regular light cold for a couple days? Heck yes. I would be thrilled for that in exchange for hanging out with a bunch of people again and just the rhythm of normalcy.

I'm not doing well, lol.

In 2019, I didn't even make PAX Unplugged -- and it was held less than 10 miles from where I live. Of course, given the condition of many big cities, I think I would want to be sure I went with a fairly large group this time.

A 'big city' is approximately thirty miles away from my home. I went alone last week on a bit of a 'retreat' I've been working the essential gig for far too long and it's been 'go to work, go home and 'vacation' was 'spend more time on the computer'. I very much needed to do that. The entitled customers of all persuasions and walks of life had me on the very edge of sanity..

Oddly enough, the folks in the city were *far more respectful* of social distancing AND mask-wearing.

The hotel I stayed at didn't have a lot of guests, and the staff was amazing and on-point.

If travel could be like that, and not the 'cattle car' - 'crammed in like sardines' of major conventions pre-COVID, I think I could go back to conventions physically at the moment.

I do *not* miss 'con crud', and I also do not miss being ill five or six times a year (this past year I've only been sick twice, sent home from work once as a precautionary measure.).

I hope whatever metric is used in the future takes into account more personal space for event attendees and masks if the guests feel they need them.

You may notice that I said that I would be sure to go with a large group -- it is not crowding that I am afraid of in a big city.

Cons are far too peopley for me now, pandemic aside.

Guess my time and money will just have to go to GenCon this year

I wouldn't hold my breath that Gen Con is going to be live as opposed to virtual. Indiana/Indianapolis is not showing any signs of easing up on restrictions and with the delays in getting the vaccine distributed, I seriously doubt the city will be ready to host tens of thousands of travelers.

They generally start the process of attendance early in January. We are now going into March with no indication of how it will operate. Given the lead times involved to get information out and processing time for hotel rooms, badges, event submissions, editing/approving events, signups, etc. they are going to start running out of time for those things to work efficiently. Not to mention, there is likely to be distancing and attendance limitations set such that they may need to have some kind of lottery just to get permission to attend.

Sorry, but I'm just not seeing it in 2021.

I don't get those. Make sure the url in your browser starts with "https" and not just "http". That's the usual source of these warnings.

(The extra "s" means "secure". Still not 100% risk-free, but its better encrypted)

I got the same result on my phone, using the link provided above. In the end I googled the Organized Play Foundation and followed links from there and was able to sign up.

Good that you managed to find a solution. :3

I'm confused by this though. :S

What is the expected wait to hear back about GMing?

The Exchange

I saw that some scenarios were proposed on Play By Post - Where can we obtain more information, such as the frequency of posting or will it be played by email or forum posts ?

To answer some of the questions above, I think I might be the only Paizo employee who is fully vaccinated at this point so having a virtual convention is as much for our safety as everyone else’s. We now know that the intention is for every adult to be eligible by the end of May so it was obviously the right call.

Right now the only seminars that we will conduct will be streamed so the convention will be more condensed then when it was physical. In 2019 I believe we had at least three breakout rooms going on simultaneously and one of the three was broadcast over Twitch. We only have one twitch channel so I expect we will return to that system next year. Know Direction has a long-standing tradition of audio recordings of almost all the seminars so they accessible. I suspect organized play activities will be more of a hybrid in 2022. I look forward to interacting with people online this year.

Since there won't be a "banquet" per se, when will we know when the big announcement presentation will be? It honestly matters for which slots I am willing to sign up for.

Non-VIP signups open at 6PM PDT tonight, likely to give time for Pacific timezone attendees a chance to sign up with everyone in later timezones.

OK, Thank you. I didn't know about the VIP/Non-VIP thing. Warhorn has VIP, but I thought that it the Warhorn-VIP's starting a couple of days ago. So that makes some sense.

Silver Crusade

Packed my schedule as much as possible with PFS1, PFS2 (VTT & PBP). Sadly, it can't be all four days, but should definitely boost my characters' XP and faction rep. Thanks, PaizoCon team!

Maybe it's just me but isn't $25 for an online con expensive?

There's no physical venue (generally by far the highest cost of putting on a con). Without that, there are some expenses of course but not much. I've been to physical cons (pre-COVID) that were only $20-25 for the weekend (and that had to cover venue costs).

$25 is a steal considering you don't have to pay for travel or lodging at the same time.

It's one-third the cost of the in-person PaizoCon. I'm completely okay with $25 for several days of PFS.

*salivating* this is when they will announce the names and themes of the new aps after str k's...and maybe we will get an up date on abosolm 2e book.

There isn't a single big announcement presentation. Erik Mona will have some news at the Kickoff panel Fri at 10 am and then other announcements will sprinkle through the event. We will do a summary of the big talking points via blogs as well.

I guess my only question, and I read through the comments to see if it had been answered and didn't see it, is if the 25$ registration is only if you are playing games? WIll the seminar's/break outs be on the official Paizo twitch or will a schedule be released?

Looking forward to the seminars but will be running games at home with the kids to keep in spirit of the con this year

Is it too late to register? I'd love to participate in games if I can, but my timezone (GMT +8; Asia/Manila) might get iffy...

The badge fee is only to play games. All panels will stream on our Twitch and the Discord is totally free to join.

It is not! We're accepting registrations right up until the last slot of games.

Anyone know if they are going to talk about an update on the crowd fund that they did for the new King Maker Adventure Path. If or when it will finally be released?

The crowdfunding page is updated each month with a commentary from James Jacobs. No word on if it'll be talked about at PaizoCon, but there's no dedicated panel about it.

HERE.

Make sure to click on the megaphone icon on the top for the updates.

Also, the last update mentioned tuning in to the opening keynote Twitch event today (Friday 5/28/2021), so if there's gonna be news about Kingmaker 2E, it might be then.

Says it's all heading into layout, which is great news. I can't wait for this, Kingmaker has always been my favorite AP.
