I never quite liked the flavor of "couldn't quite hack it academically, and my bloodline is much too muddled. But hey, smash the two together, and you get magic." The story above suggests that Halcyon magic is the combination of traditions. Perhaps Arcanist are the masters of this?

I think you can still keep the basis and chasis of the existing class; being a magical tinker of sorts, who combines two or more forms of magic, and gained excess to magical exploits as a result. But combining traditions leaves so much room for further customization and a much more compelling story for the class I think. Could still make archetypes or subclasses that dive deeper into the nuances of the compounded magic; such as melding innate and learned abilities of the Sorcer and Wizard; or the worship of nature and the Green Faith as the Druid that is truly divine like that of a Cleric. Perhaps even using merging magic and technology to create a psuedo-Artificer/pre-Technomancer.

Sorry if this is a bad place for this. Was simply my first train of thought right after reading the article.
Reading this makes me want the Arcanist class, should it return, to be a class that combines the traditions of magic rather than wizardly pursuits and innate sorcery. Still, I wonder how Rahadoum will be accomodate not only Magaambyan magic, but all the new Sorceror magic,
with even non-divine Bloodlines all easily able to access divine spellcasting via Crossblooded.
Even ancestries can access divine magic, and that isn't new considering planetouched and dhampir with such SLAs.
It feels like there is need for philosophical clarity in Rahadoum's laws, considering all this stuff is common enough,
so blindly associating it with "god magic" seems implausible to anybody with modicum of knowledge, which Rahadoum seems to possess,
although if there is gap between the theoretical and popular application in less enlightened quarters, that wouldn't be surprising.
I'm not even sure if there is any strict distinction of "divine" vs non-divine in terms of observable characteristics,
with traditions / essences overlapping,
and in terms of hostility to healing spells as exemplar of "god magic", that seems like specific rule can handle that...?
The mention of drought in northern nation made me think of Rahadoum, although I'm not sure if that is intention.
