Pathfinder Second Edition Character Sheets

Many of you are probably already dreaming up characters for Pathfinder Second Edition, writing them down in journals, carving them in ancient stones, or maybe even incanting them to the darkest corners of the Abyss. Others might be waiting on the official character sheets to begin their journey. Fortunately, that wait is over. You can grab both the full-color and printer-friendly version of the character sheet today!

If these aren’t quite what you’re looking for, you might instead opt for the Character Sheet Pack, which releases August 1st! This handy folder contains custom character sheets for all 12 classes, with expanded sheets for every detail you might want to record about your character, from the location of their gear to the name and stats of their animal companion. I must be in the minority of liking the colored version *ducks*

But really, i think it works quite well for my own eyes, though admittedly brown-less is probably my favorite.


For some reason, neither will print for me when I use MS Explorer.

If you reduce it to 4 "general" entry types, I think you are probably not that much less flexible. 2 less weapons but they can be of any type.

Also, if space is saved, that opens up room for a general notes area in the lower left. That could be for more weapons or anything else.


I just noticed that there is no place for Touch Armor Class (TAC) on the character sheet anymore. Are touch attacks no longer a thing, or is this an accidental omission?

Touch attacks don't exist anymore.


Would using more underline areas as opposed to boxed areas be better or worse? Although I could see it have a problem of clashing styles.

For example the stat to skills boxes could follow the PF1e "underline with gray text on it" method.

I believe touch attacks are resolved as reflex saves or rolls against a reflex DC now. So it's now "can you dodge the poke" not "can you poke someone."

Question - so in the Armor Class section, I get all of the TEML under Unarmored, light, medium and heavy. What are the TEML next to PROF and ITEM for?

In the first set you mark your proficiency with those types of armor, in the second you mark your proficiency with the armor you are actually using.

Hey there. So, looking at the sheet, I think I might be misunderstanding something, but what is the "Special 1st" for in the Ancestry Feats and Abilities section? I can't find it in the Core to save my life...


Here is the latest version of my hack of the B/W official character sheet.

Changes:

- Unarmed and another misc proficiency added
- Weapon and Armor proficiencies moved to a single section.
- Generalized the strikes and limited them to 4.
- Made the TEML font bigger and I spaced the boxes apart.
- Removed every single "PROF" box.
- Turned some text grey to make it easier on the eyes and easy to write over.
- Saved space in various places (like with the ability scores)
- Added a small notes section to the bottom left.
- Added a box to describe your armor. I should probably add something like that for the shield too...Hmm...
- Messed with the fields in the top front page. Moved things around so you have more room to write out alignment and size.
- More misc. little tweaks here and there.

Question, did you meant to make the attribute in boxes black as opposed to gray? (Just curious).

If so you might be able to save some more space by deleting the attribute boxes from the saves area, placing the grayed out attribute where the save value is written. Then you can move the proficiency boxes to be vertical as opposed to horizontal and move the Movement area to the saved space; Making the note section at the bottom larger.


I wanted to keep the attribute boxes black there to be consistent with the Skills area. But I am actually monkeying around with the save area right now to get some savings.

Yeah, not quite sure how to make a form fillable sheet just yet. Working in Microsoft Page Maker because it's what I have access to, and it's more than a bit sloppy behind the scenes yet, but will get it there.

That would make sense! I took another look and I could also see it being the place to write down things such as Keen Eyes for Halflings.

Data Lore and Undead DM, Color version fillable. I have taken your sheet Color version fallible no brown box sheet. I made it auto calculation version of it. This is version 1.0, I still need to add extra lines and boxes to auto calculate bulk and encumbrance and spells per day. So I need read those chapters more heavily before making those changes. Go to Sheet .

So Far it

calculation ability score mod based on score. and will auto populate it on the sheet were needed

it will add level and the appropriated checked box in each area and determine your proficient

total out attack bonus

total out All skill.

It also uses auto figure AC based on Max dex or dex mod what ever is lower.

It allows you to select Class Key score and it will pull the mod and auto add it into calculation.

Here is my updated hack of the B/W Paizo Character Sheet. I will work on adding form fillable, auto-calculatory goodness over the next week.

Changes:
- I made a few more tweaks to the Strikes area. It should be a bit cleaner now.
- I cleaned up the Armor and Saves area up top to generally declutter that part of the sheet. There is a tad more white space now and it should be a bit easier for the eyes to track what they are looking for up there.

Note: I could have moved things around more and "Tetris'ed" things to make a few boxes bigger here and there but that would have hurt readability, usability and general aesthetics. I mostly modified the front page. At this point, it should be solid (I might make some minor tweaks when I add form fillable/auto calc stuff).

The only other part of the sheet that needs some additional tweaks is the spell page but that needs a total redesign in my opinion and I dunno if I'm up for that. I think I would recommend that my players just track that stuff in a notebook to be honest.

I like the finished sheet. My one quible is you have some spare spacein the skills column, and the lines for recording your lores are tiny (base sheet suffers from this, too). Maybe you could add an extra lore spot and spred them out enough that the writting are dips below the spot for recording your numbers? It would be really hard to gauge without printing one out.

Abilities could be in two columns : physical on the left and mental on the right.

This would help add a few more lines for Strikes.

Spell sheet should have Cantrips, focus spells and spells share the same list with an additional field indicating the type. Innate spells would be separated and focus points too.

I do not know how to do all this regrettably.

I feel you about the TEML, It is do able on a sheet that does not auto calculate. There is no Armor spot on the sheet like there was in 1ed. So keeping tack of your characters Proficiency with Armor types got crammed were ac is located. Unlike the weapon spot that got it's own location. It made me really confused, why there was another TEML with nothing associated to it at 1st. Then I realized the the spot was for what was actually equipped and doing calculation.

As for doing that on sheet that auto calculated most everything. I am sure it is doable. I am, a bit novice at best. I am trying to teach my self the adobe java scripting that takes place in pdfs. I am not sure, how I would make a typed letter = a number value with out making and 2nd invisible box for each time I want to do that. I tried something similar before with 1st edition sheets. They got really buggy, if I had to many invisible boxed or tried multi coding in a single box. If I could get that stable, I would still have to go in and edit the sheet txt and layout also. It is way more work then it is worth. I just left the boxes there as check boxed.

Unlike undead dm version of the sheet. Since I am using them do math, I had to learn how to join the check boxed to a group and assign value to them. So only one can be active at time for them to have value. Other wise I would have to code a ton of exceptions, which leads to more bugs. So figure that would be easier. I was going to use radio buttons instead, Since they auto group and have different values. But found out you can't unchecked them, once they are checked. So went the route I did.

Prof Score on the sheets does = level + Prof mod, on my calculation sheet. All you have to do is fill in your level and every where you level is supposed to go it added it. then you check the TEML and then it add the value for that also.

Once there is a cleaner layout, Like undead dm and data lore are working on. I should be able to copy most of my calculation stuff over to their sheet now that base work of coding is done. They are welcome to steal them off my modded of their sheets. I kind of just wanted to get something out quick so character creation is quicker for my group and figured I share it and thank those guys for doing some layout work and box creation.

I did noticed an error in the proficiency calculations. If untrained in the ability or skill the proficiency bonus should be 0 according to the chart on page 444.

That one takes me to your D&D 5E sheets (thank you, I didn't have them yet), but I thought you mentioned that you did some for PF2E? After all, this is the Paizo forums...

As you have removed the proficiency value box from every roll/DC entry, maybe add them back as 4 entries in their own section?
Like, make a section "Profiviency" where you have 4 fields for the T/E/M/L values. This way, you can quickly cross-reference the values but they are only on the sheet once.

I think that is for Humans with the heritage that gives you the bonus feat (specifically for that feat)

I wasn't super pleased with the fillable version that was floating around; some little things were bugging me like some unaligned/sloppy field placement, borders left on some checkboxes, etc.

I created fully-fillable versions of the original sheets with automatic calculations for basically anything with a proficiency (AC, weapons, saves, perception, skills, class DC, spells), Maximum HP, and bulk capacity. Proficiencies use the little TEML boxes for calculations, so checking them on the sheet is actually relevant.

Because I hate automated sheets that make it impossible to use fillable fields that don't change much (if ever) and or print default numbers in the fields you might want to manually fill out because they change - say, if you're only printing a new sheet every few levels and are otherwise filling in numbers by hand with a pencil...most of the automation gets disabled if you leave certain fields blank. Level is required for anything with proficiencies, for instance. If you leave the ability scores blank, nothing dependent on them will calculate. Checkboxes are there to disable calculation of bulk or HP, but there are also fairly easy ways to adjust the calculations if you have a feat or something that would affect them.

There are some other weird considerations, like it's possible to override the options in drop-down boxes for things. Level (in case you want to just keep having numbers go up for some reason, or you want to do a level 0 thing without a class). Ability scores, in case you're rolling up stats or something and need odd scores below 18. Ancestry/Class HP, in case future ancestries/classes have new HP, or if you want to add one-off or per-level permanent changes to Max HP.

Some care was taken for lots of little things for real-world usability. For example, to make sure that fonts would fit/be aligned appropriately and text sizes would change/multiple lines would be used if boxes had specifically limited space. Tab field order is a compromise between navigating the sheet quickly without a mouse and ease of mass changes. Tooltips explain some of the fields with some automation, so they're actually going to generally be relevant. At worst, they'll be blank or only be the all-caps names Acrobat provided as an initial starting point for automated form field detection. Fields all have relevant names, so it's easy to tell what field is what if you're making changes. The different spell traditions have slightly different shapes instead of checks in the little "book" just because I thought it was more fun.

I'll probably never update these again. It was close to 20 hours of work, mostly justified as doing it to learn how Acrobat works, since I've never used it before. I also don't write javascript, so if there are any eccentricities in my approach, that's probably why.

It's likely not perfectly "fillable" if you want to manually type (not write post-print) in every single field due to the automation on some fields that won't play nice. If people reaaaallly want a version with my carefully-aligned fields but zero automation, I might do it; basically it would involve removing scripts (pretty quick) and replacing a couple drop-down boxes with vanilla text fields, but I'm not particularly interested in maintaining this. Unless Hero Lab Online is terrible (I would describe it as "mediocre" for the playtest) I'll probably use it, anyway.

You can totally break some of the automation scripts if you put in really weird values (text when numbers or blank are expected), but it's just a character sheet, so that's fine.

Feel free to use the automation/form fields as a starting point for any altered versions you might have. If you just changed the background appearances on your own (colors/etc.) and have Acrobat, it's very easy to use the "replace page" feature under Organize Pages to just swap your versions in underneath the form fields. That may work with other editors. If you've moved fields around (i.e. Datalore), your changes would obviously require more work for the fields and calculation scripts, but this might still save you a bunch of time (particularly on the unaltered pages).

Awesome sheet. However, something seems to be wrong with the Arcana skill - it isn't calculating correctly. Keeps coming up with weird incorrect numbers.

Less so for.... pretty much anyone who wants to make power cards or homebrew feats for personal use. You shouldn't have to resort to pirating a font or registering as an official publisher to homebrew.
And it's not idea for Paizo to have to "approve" endless waves of GMs registering as compatible publishers just so they can make NPCs and monsters that look right.

Given every single character will have four or five feats that unlock different actions, being able to make cards or cheat sheets will be a must. And typing [A] and [A][A] looks lame...

For homebrew stuff, you could use unicode symbols to approximate:

Looks like it's broken in my 1.0 version, too, which means it's probably a typo'd field name (not super likely) or a bad version of the calculation javascript and not an artifact from my ill-fated experimentation with rich text formatting today. It's very likely it was left on an experimental version of the saves/skills script that's intermittently failing partway through calculation logic due to not having an Armor Check Penalty field. So far none of the test characters I've built happened to take Arcana. Mod and proficiency fields (used as inputs for calculation) look fine.

Should be a very quick fix (just copy/paste the script from literally any other skill) when I'm back on the computer with Acrobat.

Alright, have things expanded a bit further including a second page (although it's a bit sloppy yet). Hoping to finish before GenCon, but I work on this in my downtime at work, so can't guarantee it.

That one takes me to your D&D 5E sheets (thank you, I didn't have them yet), but I thought you mentioned that you did some for PF2E? After all, this is the Paizo forums...

I was suggesting it would be awesome if someone could design a sheet similar to the one I linked for PF2. I provided the link so others could look at it as an example. I do good work visually on sheets but I don't know how to make them variable.

Looks like it's broken in my 1.0 version, too, which means it's probably a typo'd field name (not super likely) or a bad version of the calculation javascript and not an artifact from my ill-fated experimentation with rich text formatting today. It's very likely it was left on an experimental version of the saves/skills script that's intermittently failing partway through calculation logic due to not having an Armor Check Penalty field. So far none of the test characters I've built happened to take Arcana. Mod and proficiency fields (used as inputs for calculation) look fine.

Should be a very quick fix (just copy/paste the script from literally any other skill) when I'm back on the computer with Acrobat.

I fixed them; it ended up being that a couple fields went rogue and got out of calculation order. I also went ahead and made the non-calculation versions.
