I think I see modular sized locations! And status effects? Bleeding? Possibly something similar to curses in MM? Also, gotta love that 0 for Deck number. Gah this is so exciting. I wish life allowed me to visit the pac-nor-west to come to the con. I expect full reports!
There will be more details forthcoming when the details are ready to forthcome.

No wonder there was a sale on the adventure card games in April. I bought a bunch of them. I guess I can still play them, but I wish I'd have waited now.
Someone said they're gonna have a base set and then have the APs as add-ons? That sounds pretty good.

Of course. I just love the tease! I really enjoy behind-the-scenes in-development stuff like this. Take your time, make it great, and we will be eager to see when you are ready to come forth!

I see there's a new keyword "local" applied to "check", which I'm assuming means "a check by a character at your location".
Lini also refers to "Animal ally", which is (again, assumedly) a welcome shorthand for "ally with the Animal trait".
It's good to see the "LCG-style" revamp is proceeding. Hopefully it'll work out well with the stores.

Ahh! Another reason I wish I could be at PaizoCon!
I don't know which I find more amusing: that there's a pony peeking out of the box, or that she's actually a light shield. :P
Ah, Elinnea, we wish you were at PaizoCon too!

I can't this year, but maybe in the future. Have some fun for me!

New Keywords
Spotted in the playtest cards.
Local = At a your location. Good idea, saves space, easily understood.
-----
Suggestions for Location determination.
-----
Remote = At another location.
Remote Open = At another Open location.
Remote Closed = At another Closed location.
-----
Suggestions for Healing.
-----
Heal = Choose 1 character at your location to shuffle 1d4 random cards from his discard pile into his deck. A card might have Heal(+2) which would equal 1d4+2 cards. Or a Heal(-2) which would be 1d4-2. Non-restrictive case, could heal yourself or another.
Heal Yourself = Shuffle 1d4 random cards from your discard pile into your deck. A card might have Heal Yourself(+1) which would equal 1d4+1 cards. Or a Heal Yourself(-2) which would be 1d4-2. Restrictive case of Heal, yourself only..
Heal Another = Choose 1 other character at your location to shuffle 1d4 random cards from her discard pile into her deck. A card might have Heal Another(+1) which would equal 1d4+1 cards. Or a Heal Another which would be 1d4. Restrictive case of Heal, another character only.
Heal All = All characters at your location to shuffle 1d4 random cards from their discard pile into their deck. A card might have Heal All(+1) which would equal 1d4+1 cards.
Heal could be Local or Remote, but Local is only case I have seen.
Just some suggestions.
Looking forward to the new stuff.

Can I just add my infinite thanks and support to Mike, the Sharks, Vic and all the others. Being able to always improve and reinvent this game and staying compatible with thousands of existing cards is just fantastic.
Oh, and selecting Crimson Throne is a blast.
We should finish our homemade evil adventure just in time.

Let me make this unequivocally clear: The new set will be compatible with all previous Adventure Paths. We think the new base set rules will make Skull & Shackles and Wrath of the Righteous more fun, not less.

Is there a release date announced for the new base set and Curse of the Crimson Throne. They both sound great
And if you’d like to be among the first to find out when the new version is coming out, you’ll want to make sure you secure your ticket to the [PaizoCon] Preview Banquet!

Happy Happy, Joy Joy!! (this is the grittiest kitty litter of all)
News, at last, I've spent this year sorting my character packs. I am looking forward to this new release. Can I take it that we will still have to wait until mid-to-late 2019 for this release? I have high hopes and need more news... so leak away, I'm listening.
Big thanks to Mike and all of the Paizo team for the behind-the-scenes work that has gone on in the last year.
EDIT: Some clarification please...
Are we looking at two separate releases here;
1. An adventure path (similar to previous ones)
2. A universal base set (for use with new products to be developed)

I think (this is only what I think, I have no information beyond these webpages) we are looking at two releases.
First, a universal base set that all future adventures and adventure paths will build from.
Second, a new adventure path that will be the first adventure path to use the universal base set. Think something more like the 6 adventure decks.
I'd expect the universal base set to be playable by itself, though perhaps not to the extent of an adventure path. But will it have only 5 scenarios? Will it have 2 adventures? That remains to be seen.
Will the 2 products be released simultaneously? No idea. I don't think there has been any mention of that one way or the other. But the adventure path can't be released before the universal base set, since it will be unplayable without it.
Will the adventure paths be 6 individually sold adventure decks? No idea. Maybe. Or maybe they will package them up as one big whole. It maybe as two packs of 3 adventures. Who knows (besides Lone Shark and Paizo)?
Can't wait until the banquet. For those interested, there are usually some people that post updates from the banquet pretty much in real time, particularly Painlord. I'll post a link to their thread when the banquet starts if you want to find out the news but can't be there.

I am hoping that the universal base set box takes a similar format to the current adventure path base sets. I am assuming that the universal base set will be added to over time as future development takes place. Since we already have storage solutions in place for this size of box we would not have to wait for storage solutions to appear.
I am interested to see what type of packaging we will get for the new adventure paths as well... many questions.

Is anyone able to video portions of this playtesting? I understand why this would not be possible for a new product, as this is a new approach to an existing product could we see some action as a taster?
While we have no plans to do so ourselves, we don't mind if people take pictures and video.

I'm also making a list that gleans the info for PACG. You can find it here

I understand what they showed isn’t final, but I sure hope they don’t stick with using proxies or using shorthand as was done in the play test as described in the thread linked by Hawkmoon. IMO, it adds unnecessary complexity, having to refer back to rulebooks if you don’t remember what a certain symbol means or having to refer to another card that represents what you are actually encountering and breaking the flow of the game.

Do you know if the date the character deck pdfs will be released will be revealed at the convention?

I hope they do stick with proxies, as they free up a ton of card slots that could be used for other things. Guild play uses them extensively and I don't feel they "break the flow of the game", even though we're looking them up in a PDF on a tablet.
Text/keyword and symbol shorthand is hard to judge, but I don't think it'll take that long to adjust once you start playing regularly with the new things. We picked up "invokes", "Trigger", and "Scourges" quickly enough.
As always, groups will vary. :)

I've read all of the info provided by Painlord/Hawkmoon269 (thank you very much by the way!) to-date and it's interesting to hear some of the new planned mechanism changes. Nothing I've read thus far feels like a significant change though. It's possible that reading about these tweaks doesn't translate to a 'good impress' of where this game is heading.
Is there any clue as to how the planned new base set will be populated. There are many questions I could ask here but as an example, I'll focus on just on LOCATION (since I don't want this to be an essay).
Will there be a range of small medium and large locations and how are these locations implemented (depending on the number of players or the scenarios)?
Are the locations type specific i.e. jungle/mountain/sea/coast/city etc? Or are they what we already see in curreent adventure paths i.e. 'The Bridge', 'Moutain Pass', 'House of Ill Repute' etc? Just what exactly has changed here.
In the next adventure path The Crimson Throne we know there will be an urban setting and wilds setting. Is this how the adventure paths will be split?
Will the location size affect combat in any way, by increasing or decreasing ability to pass barriers, banes or monsters? Will the size of location affect the number of characters that can be at the location?
Will the choice of barriers/allies/henchmen/boons etc. be location dependent or scenario dependent (or both).
Will we be seeing multiple base sets based around specific location themes i.e. Urban/Jungle/Desert/Marine from which we can draw for future adventure paths or will we just add new location packs to a single base set and similarly boons/barriers/monsters etc?
I need more here man, at the moment I'm just not seeing the vision of what is coming here... Perhaps I have missed the big reveal here. :(
