The Distant Flags

Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Distant Shores introduces us to corners of Golarion far beyond the Inner Sea, from the Arcadian nation of Degasi to the hobgoblin empire of Kaoling. Each city shows a slice of these foreign cultures, as well as adventuring potential for natives and visitors alike. Each also has a unique identity and aesthetic, typified by the various flags, banners, and crests the cities use to identify themselves:

From left to right, these are the flags for Aelyosos (the Iblydan City of Tides), Anuli (Holomog's City of New Beginnings), Dhucharg (the hobgoblin-run City of Conquerors), Radripal (the Vudrani City of Arches), Segada (the City of Keys controlling access to the continent of Arcadia), and Ular Kel (the Caravan City).

Distant Shores also introduce six new gods from across the world, along with five appropriate holy symbols:

These holy symbols reflect Ashukharma (goddess of canyons and cliffs), Kelksiomides (hero-god of gardens and orchards), Matravash (goddess of the Matra River), Omrataji (god of silver and silversmithing), and Psomeira (hero-god of seasons and spears). Not pictured (because we ran out of art budget): the holy symbol of Mazludeh (goddess of balance and community).

So Radripal is a Varisian city? That's interesting -- elsewhere that city was said to be in Vudra.

It's Vudrani. Probably a typo in the blog.

The flags are not listed in the correct order either, check the urls for each one.

i'm not sure the flags are in the right order either. The names seem to match the designs in a different order, ie the second flag would be more fitting for "City of Keys" than a nation of warrior women. The red and black one brings to mind hobgoblins more than not-indian city of arches.

Good catch.

For what it's worth, I've matched the flags with their cities on PathfinderWiki: Aelyosos, Anuli, Dhucharg, Radripal, Segada, and Ular Kel.

Th eflags are indeed out of order, but the file names still have them listed correctly.

Do we really not have art for the holy symbol of Mazludeh? the deity of the one region that is the least explored of all of them? O.O

if you didn't have the budget it's okay, but I'm just saying its a sad coincidence.

In which region is Mazludeh worshipped? Arcadia?

Anuli in Holomog. Her symbol is seven eggs encircled by a snake eating its own tail.

She also has a Heavy Shield as a favored weapon, and a lot of great details in her portfolio, description, and followers. She is one of my favorite Golarian deities so far.

Heavy Shield as a favored weapon?!?

I am not able to convey the physical antics being performed right now, in my excitement over this revelation.

Thank you both for the informative replies! :)

I, too mourn the lack of a Mazludeh holy symbol. <sniffle>

Maybe some art budget could be scraped up somehow? Maybe we could take up a collection, or something? (Not quite kidding.)
