Dragons once served as the stewards of this land, commanded by Heavenly decree. Can you live up to their lofty expectations, or will you flounder and fail like countless kingdoms before you? Prophecy is dead and history hangs on a feather; even the slightest breath might change the course of peoples and nations. Strike out and seize your destiny in an uncertain future!

This massive 304-page gazetteer features a look at the history, cultures, and peoples of Tian Xia, with summaries of over 20 distinct nations and kingdoms on, above, and under the continent. It’s accompanied by a giant poster map displaying this region of the Pathfinder setting in beautiful detail.

When will the Lost Omens subscription be updated so I can start with this? This will be joining my collection, and I already have Highhelm.

Still bit confused on whether tian xia is split into regions or if continent isn't using meta regions at all :O

If I remember correctly, Tian Xia doesn’t have meta-regions; they were a contrivance for the 2e core and LOWG’s organization that proved to work quite well, and then Arcadia being mostly blank-slate meant they could intentionally design meta-regions from the ground up.

While I bet you probably could carve Tian Xia up the same way, my own attempts have always felt like forcing it.

It does feel bit inconsistent with other continents having them, but I guess its okay as long each of countries do get good amount of content each of them since meta regions did have benefit of "well, alkenstar wouldn't really gets its own setting book, but impossible lands could"

Especially since Tian Xia had like... 26 countries not counting darklands?

Entirely speculation here, but the book is called "Pathfinder Lost Omens: Tian Xia World Guide" like the original World Guide setting book, as opposed to "Pathfinder Lost Omens: Tian Xia" like Mwangi or Impossible Lands. Could be purposeful, signaling that more regionally focused books can now start coming from this part of the world. It also could just be an entirely different style of book. I hope it's the former though, this book is ever so slightly shorter than Mwangi and it'd be a shame if this was the only big setting release we got for Tian Xia.

I think this will be all for the time being. And if this book sells well, it will give more incentive to make additional books about Tian Xia.

There was talk of potentially doing Travel Guides for other continents if the first one sold well, and it gets exponentially easier for the team to do further Tian APs with the setting actually written - I’d expect both of those before something like a “Lost Omens: Minkai” deep dive.

I'd buy the f@$~ out of that book though

This and the other book regarding Tian Xia are what got me to start a Lost Omens subscription. I am looking forward to the releases.

Yes, there are over 20 pages in the Bestiary Chapter—all published under the ORC and in the remastered format.

There are some pretty great rulebooks coming out in 2024!

Me checking every day to make sure there wasn't a glitch in the matrix and the book is actually being released today

Any idea whether this setting book will spoil any relevant plot threads in Season of Ghosts? Just wondering if I can recommend this setting book to my players.

The (initial) goal, before the remaster kerfuffle, was to have the books release closer to the AP, so they would support each others. They are indeed very great books for your players.

I'm excited to be getting this one soon, it'll be fun to read all the entries for places, and I'm excited for the 20-or-so pages of monsters, I'm hoping that there's another Oni or two in there.

When is the character guide set for release?

Got my PDF, but is there a reason it's 350MB in size?

Also curious numbering for the book, being PZO13001. Are we getting a revised Campaign Core book as PZO13000?

Paizo always starts new "lines" with 1 (at least since second edition). The core rule book number ends with 1 (PZO2101). The very first Lost Omen book started with 1 too (PZO9301).

Player Core, GM Core, and Monster Core are PZO12001, PZO12002, and PZO12003 respectively.

Since around 2021 I wanna say, file sizes have been balooningi n size compared to how they used to look. Rage of Elements included an attempt at fixing that, but somehow it just ended up super low-res while still barely being the size they ued to be.

What monsters are included in those 20+ pages? Kami? More oni? Kappa?

The PDF for Mwangi Expanse is only half the size of this one and that was the previous largest one I've got, even being a Superscriber.

So I notice that the product description promises a poster map, but the PDF I received yesterday does not appear to have one. Did it just get missed on the digital version by mistake, or is there not a poster map after all? It’s be a total bummer if so.

Does this book have Tian Xia Darklands guide or only surface nations? How many pages for each nation in medium? Do we have description of local culturs of core races, like we have in Mwangi with Matanji or Mualijae?

MY BOOK SHIPPED!

*Yes!*

Wayfinders

Darklands get a section, with descriptions of several subterranean nations within.

Each section is about 8 pages, though some that incorporate a neighboring non-nation geographic region (like Minkai and the Forest of Spirits, or Xidao and the oceans) are longer on account of including the latter.

There's no bespoke ancestry descriptions (though all the ancestries we know are coming in the followup book are mentioned and integrated throughout) - those might be in the Character Guide.

*Looking at the map* Ooh, there are names I don’t recognize on here.

With the release of Tian Xia, I was looking forward to the Anito. However after reviewing the PDF, it appears that the Anito were not given a stat block or guidance on how to run in a game. Only that they are "nature spirits". Which is unfortunate as there isn't a "nature spirit" category like there is for spirit guides or house spirits. I wonder if this was missed by mistake or would be in the character guide in August?

Is that Shelyn sitting with Kofusachi on page 20?

Really intrigued by the *old, old* lore so far, and my brain invented what is probably a false connection to Starfinder.
