Pathfinder Battles Preview: Gone to the Con!

Friday, July 5, 2013

Today is the first formal day of PaizoCon, which runs throughout this weekend here in Seattle. About 700 of our best friends are gathered at the Seattle Airport Marriott as you read this, playing games, throwing dice, and having a great time.

One reason PaizoCon attendees have to be happy is that all of them received a FREE Pathfinder Battles miniature in their attendee bags. Ladies and gentlemen, I proudly present you the 2013 Convention Promo Figure, the goblin warrior Konkrud!

Konkrud will also be available free with any $50 purchase at Paizo's booth at Gen Con Indy. Assuming our limited supply lasts, he will eventually also be available for sale here on paizo.com.

And for now, that's the only Pathfinder Battles miniatures reveal for the week.

We'll be making a Gargantuan announcement regarding the next complete set of Pathfinder Battles miniatures at the PaizoCon Preview Banquet on Saturday night, so expect a few big surprise minis reveals here on the Paizo Blog on Sunday.

Until then, I've got some player characters to kill, and a brand new goblin buddy to help me do the dirty work.

STAY TUNED TO THIS SPACE!

Konkrud for a convention exclusive?!? Great name!

Awww, man, but I'm not sure if I like the idea of going to a convention looking for Konkrud... ;)

Hope PaizoCon is going well. I'm jealous that I'm not there.

Liberty's Edge

What a *great* name! Who hasn't suffered from an attack by Konkrud at least once in their life? ;)

I love it! I will definitely be looking forward to picking up some Konkrud at Gen Con!

Err... well... ah, who cares, the mini will be worth it! ;-)

The suspense is killing me... and probably your PCs. I can't wait to see what is next. I'm excited for Skull and Shackles (besides the fact that I like the AP, the inclusion of water-themed foes is great). Here's to hoping we see a Gargantuan Greed Dragon.

Liberty's Edge

Ha! Great name.

I wonder how fast these will show up on ebay?

Wish I could go to these conventions in far off places.

Enjoy your convention people and keep us informed as you can. :-)

So anyone from the con got spoilers for us!?!?!? hahaha

Will this be the mini that Pathfinder Online backers will receive for free at Gen Con? Since the mention in the 1/4/13 blog post and the Gencon newsletter, nothing has been said about it. Or the certificate for redemption.

It is... and we'll be sending those redemption certs out soon.

Hey were there any buttons at PaizoCon this year? I always get them here afterwards.

The certs will be available before the end of July, but after Goblinworks' next milestone, which is in a little over a week. I told them that they could focus on that and make up the cert after they were done with the milestone.

Lisa,

When will the minis acquired through the kickstarter be shipped out? Is that still a long ways off?

There was one badge in the swag, featuring the con logo (a goblin doing a king kong impression on the space needle)

*All* of the physical products for the Kickstarter will ship together next summer.

Next summer? Ok, that's a longer off than I originally thought.

It has said "Estimated delivery: Jun 2014" on the Kickstarter page since the very beginning...

Oh, I never said “That’s longer than you originally indicated”. :) I admit it was my mistake.

Vic, it’s been so long since I’ve looked at that Kickstarter page I couldn’t remember what the date was. I just had come to think we were getting the kickstarter items before that, for whatever reason. Maybe I was thinking June of next year was the open enrollment and we’d get the other items before that.

Just to be clear, any Kickstarter backer who can't make it to GenCon will have to buy KonKrud when/if it becomes available in the storefront.
Do I have that correct?

Yep—I believe it'll be $5.

Any idea when we can expect the vouchers? I need to get mine to a friend picking it up for me and we are running low on time.

Sorry to necromancer this, but does Konkrud have his own goblin song?
