Here we have a balor taking out a silver dragon in this awesome cover illustration from Wayne Reynolds. This chaotic scene greets the PCs as they begin the Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Path, which launches this August with Pathfinder Adventure Path #73: The Worldwound Incursion. This Adventure Path uses rules from Pathfinder RPG: Mythic Adventures to make this a truly mythic campaign. As the release of this Adventure Path nears, I'd like to highlight some of the other things we're working on that can help support your PCs' venture into the Worldwound.

At the same time that Pathfinder Adventure Path #73 releases, a number of other products that help support the Adventure Path will be available, such as Pathfinder Cards: Wrath of the Righteous Item Cards, which allow you to hand players cards depicting the treasures they unearth during the campaign. Learn more about the horrible rift in reality that gives the region its name in Pathfinder Campaign Setting: The Worldwound. Need more information on demons to use in the Adventure Path to stop those pesky heroes? Look no further than Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Demons Revisited! Are there now too many demons around? Then check out Pathfinder Player Companion: Demon Hunter's Handbook for tips and tools that come in handy during a fight against the Abyss.

If all of that's not enough to get you packing your bags for Mendev, then stay tuned for the adventures of your favorite count and his trusty bodyguard as Radovan and Jeggare head into the Worldwound in Dave Gross' upcoming novel Pathfinder Tales: King of Chaos. Also, this year at GenCon the Pathfinder Society begins a new season with Year of the Demon. Mike Brock and John Compton will provide more information about that sometime soon.

O'rly?

Well, let's see how tough Alain is without his mount. If he has to go into a dungeon, he can't bring his mighty warhorse with him...effectively making him a watered-down fighter! He's objectively lame!

Also, Seelah and Alain are more or less obvious choices for an AP that features crusaders. Seoni's in there because it's been forever since we've had her in an AP (I think the last of her appearances was in Carrion Crown), and because of the perception among gamers that a group without an arcane spellcaster is doomed from the start. ;-P Merisiel is in there partially because she's my favorite and the last time I've been able to develop an AP with her featured in the art is, believe it or not, Rise of the Runelords.

Who was the main developer for Legacy of Fire?

I remember in one of the forewords to Serpent's Skull you explained that Rob McCreary had taken the role of Development Lead for that AP, but up to that point I thought you were the main developer for each AP. If that wasn't the case, and just out of curiosity, can you let us know who was the lead on each AP?

That was me.

I've developed:

Rise of the Runelords (twice)
Curse of the Crimson Throne
Second Darkness
Legacy of Fire
Council of Thieves
Kingmaker
Shattered Star
Wrath of the Righteous

Rob did the other ones, mostly, although I developed a few of them here and there—I did parts 2 and 3 of Serpent's Skull with Rob helping, then handed the reigns of developer over to him in full with #4. I also developed part 1 of Carrion Crown and part 5 of Skull & Shackles.

Thanks!

At first I thought you had made a mistake in your Merisiel comment above, but looking more closely, I now realize that although she was one of the pre-gens for Legacy of Fire, she wasn't featured in the art of any of the covers, so you'll be happy to know that you were in fact correct sir... As usual ;)

Ok James, if it's been since Rotrl since you ordered art for an Ap, Merisiel's presence makes more sense. Still, I'd love to see an all-weirdo Iconics AP. Balazar, Liriane, Reiko, and... Imrijka, maybe?

Well, first somebody needs to kidnap Erik Mona and force him to write Balazar's backstory...

I love the art! HOORAY!

I'd take you up on that, but given the choice between one pesky loudmouth and a ravening horde of demons, I think I know which will be the more entertaining challenge.

The demon kinda looks like Orcus from the cover of the 4th edition Monster Manual.

BAH! These are weak excuses for ignoring mythic dwarves! Who cares about skinny Merisiel or that dolt, Alain? And I'm usually showing more skin than Seoni, but you don't see me on the cover of an AP, do you? (well, my majestic beard usually covers up my private parts... except when I'm dancing the Sacred Dwarven Beard Dance)

Same artist did both covers, so similarities are understandable.

Well...

Spoiler:
... the first mythic NPC you encounter in this Adventure Path is a dwarf... so that should count. The fact that he's a bad guy shouldn't make a difference.

Hooray for WAR art!

Khorramzadeh definitely appears to be a Balor Lord with the Giant Template (also it appears he may have a few levels in Fighter as well due to the armor he's wearing). Hopefully we get to take him out and avenge that Silver Dragon. ^_^

A Dwarf demon cultist? You don't see too many of those that's for sure.

On a side note, we SOOO NEED one or two Cavalier archetypes that replace the mount ability (preferably with something teamworkish or perhaps a special cohort).

Don't expect Khorramzadeh to be that big... there's a bit of artistic license going on there...

Thanks but I was referring to an Archetype that replaces the Mount ability with a non-animal based ability (like focusing more on the Teamwork aspect or inspiring the troops and some such).

Awwww...nut bunnies. Facing a huge-sized Balor Lord would've been a fun mythic challenge (granted I'm still pretty sure it'll still be fun to face the Storm King). As for artistic license, while the artist also got one other thing wrong about Khorramzadeh and that's he's supposed to swathed in arcs of lightning. Granted, it's still a good picture. It's just a bit inaccurate.

Getting our artists to put fire OR lightning on our balors is a tough thing to pull off, and I don't know why.

Obviously he used the Enlarge Person (or Demon) spell on himself so he could more easily reach the dragon's throat for a proper VORPALED!

Grand Lodge

OK. I am a first level character, and I just saw the King of the Balors take out a Huge Silver Dragon. My first actions after seeing this is to change my underwear, then find some spot on the other side of the world to farm and raise sheep.
