Ultimate Campaign Art Preview!

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

The release of Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Ultimate Campaign is getting ever closer. Whether it's kingdom-building or leading an army, starting a business or crafting magic items, Ultimate Campaign is for all of the adventures that take place outside of the dungeon. The pages of the newest Pathfinder Roleplaying Game hardcover provide all kinds of useful information for your campaign, but many fantastic illustrations are contained within! Check some of them out!

Being a ruler has many responsibilities, but also many rewards.

Eidolons and other companion creatures are more fun when treated as a separate character rather than an obedient stat block.

Retraining rules allow you to replace a feat, change an ability score increase, or improve your hit points.

The quest to find a missing family member is a driving force for many heroes.

The section on marriage talks about how a spouse (or any relationship) can be an ally or an adversary.
Illustrations by Sam Burley, Eric Belisle, Lydia Schuchmann, and Maichol Quinto

Kingdom-building rules allow PCs to control their own country—or be the power behind the throne.

Followers, apprentices, and similar companions can be positive or negative plot hooks for a PC.

A character's lineage is a chain of characters linking a PC to the history of the campaign setting.
Illustrations by Denman Rooke, Jim Nelson, and Grafit Studio

Ultimate Campaign releases this May, preorder your copy today!

Valeros.... CASTING A SPELL.

Sort of Like Seoni as a Fighter from the Artifact book.

Assistant Software Developer

I removed a post. That was uncalled for.

So Erzen got an apprentice and then the apprentice became king? I'd like to see that story in the comic books

Is it just me, or does the picture with Ezren and the bandits make them look like they are giants?

The Stream and distances do mess with one's perception don't they.

THE CAKE COMES OUT OF HER.

Right now I have the weirdest "The Preacher" reminiscence, with the D'Aronique encounter and all the stuff at Masada.

It kinda hurts my brain.

Yeah. Like, I get it's a stream, but it's definitely playing tricks on my eye.

I'm glad to see how this artwork has examples of the different subsystems being introduced. Young characters, kingdom building, retraining... I wonder what the eidolon/animal companion one will be?

In the wake of the cheesecake-controversy threads, I want to register my approval of shirtless Valeros.

I like the Female Monk and Seoni(Wedding Edition).

I LOVE Boy Ezren! Trying to guess whether that's Ezren's grandson, apprentice, or maybe Ezren meeting his older self through time travel...mysterious!

Grand Lodge

I think Ezren's apprentice just likes to wear exactly the same clothes that Ezren wears... which is amazing!
The art team have outdone themselves once again. So many great moments with these pics.

Many Apprentices ended up where outfits identical to their Masters if only because of idolization of their Master.

Ultimate Campaign: Valeros opens an orphanage

Not gonna lie... That sounds like something within Valeros's Personality.

I know a lot of people hate firearms in their fantasy, but I don't think anyone can say no to Valeros and his guns ;)

Leonidas Versus Master Chief.

"I don't need fire power when I'm rocking these guns!"

I love the depiction of Seoni as a bride!

Yeah, that looks great! The only way it could have been better would have been with Imrijka in that outfit. Just kidding. Maybe.

And I like the idea of a section on marriage and family, and how your lineage can make trouble for you. That should be especially useful in a medieval-esque world where family ties could mean rather more than they do today, for both good and ill.

Great now I want to build a Higher Magic Westeros-esque campaign.

I want to see the rules on founding monasteries or temples. LOVE the art in this book.

Silver Crusade

Can't help but wonder: Who is the queen Seelah and Ezren are working fore there?

Same'd. Also hoping stuff for opening orphanages is in.

Run Kingmaker, crank the fey parts up to 11.

I can see it now. Mikaze's Orphanage of Monstrous Humanoids, complete with drow and goblin babies and run by orc staff ;)

I was thinking more of the House Warfare but with MAGIC!

You mean that Valeros knows how to count ? Up to one hundred ?

Talk about retraining his INT score

That was my reaction to seeing her.

Love the Seoni art; the wedding dress is a great touch. Not that I minded her regular outfit, but the conservative look shows a different side of her, so to speak. Also makes me ask who the lucky groom/bride/other is :)

According to NPC Codex Valeros has 12 INT. So... hardly ;)

His dump was WIS, apparently. Which makes sense.

Valros isn't dumb, but he likes other people to think he is....

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Means he doesn't get chosen to do the complex tasks as often.

I want to see Valros bench pressing anvils while Alain spots him

Alain would probably grease the Shaft since Valeros beat him out for the Fighter Job.

Is it just me or does that seem to contain a bit of Innuendo?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It's just you. That contained a lot of innuendo.

I didn't say how big of a bit there was now did I.

No, you did not. I stand corrected.

Aren't innuendo size comparisons best saved for the locker room showers?

I really love the picture of Ezren & his Apprentice.

I really like the art....hopefuly it is not like a movie trailer to a comedy that shows the only funny parts of a movie.

Meaning I hope the rest of the book is not stick figures.

Why is this not in convenient document format waiting for me to read?

Or better yet, illustrated by Ruloc?

Also rule 63 AM BARBARIAN wife gives me the squee-giggles.

I couldn't find the picture of Sajni in the book. Does anyone know where it is? Did it get removed?

Yeah I did not see it also.

I think it is in Pathfinder Player Companion Quests Campaigns and is a misplace piece or art in the blog.
