Where to begin... I suppose I should begin with, well, an introduction. So hello, my name is Kelley, I'm a new editorial intern here at Paizo. It's pretty exciting. The crowd here seems awesome—my kind of crazy.

I'm a little ashamed to say that I've actually never played the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. I've played D&D once or twice in my not-so-distant-but-still-distant-enough past. Usually I ended up just reading the books and manuals for fun. Mainly I'm a fantasy book buff—can't get enough of them. I love to write—and edit. I think editing is almost as fun as writing, strangely enough. So I'm hoping I can get my feet wet here while I work with the editorial team. I graduated from the UW with an English Creative Writing degree (and I refuse to become a teacher, so don't even ask), so with any kind of luck, I will one day fulfill my ever-optimistic dreams of becoming an editor.

With that said... you'll be seeing a lot more of these posts from me as the weeks go on. Once I start getting my hands dirty, I'll let you all know how much awesome fun I'm having (or beg you to come rescue me... we'll see how it goes.)

Signing out.

And yes.. shun the teacher's work... there are other endeavors that you should aim for :)

My best wishes in that regard.

Hey, what's so wrong with teaching?

I'm a teacher and it's a brilliant profession.

Of course, if you aren't up to it...

teaching is a vocation and there are people who don't like it... I know i am one :P

i was a sort of a tutor some years ago and its cool when the people you teach something actually learns and do well...

but its hell when they don't care for it... so i for one prefer to stay away from the board :D :P

I'd recommend a semicolon in this sentence pair:

I'm a little ashamed to say that I've actually never played the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game; I've played D&D once or twice in my not-so-distant-but-still-distant-enough past.

Can't let the editorial intern get away without a punctuation critique!

You like editing?
Say, I have a couple hundred pages you should take a look at...

Nah. Your construction ties the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game more strongly to D&D than her construction, and in this situation, I think the looser connection is more appropriate.

We need pictures of her reaction when James kills her first character with some Lovecraftian horror.

He would have done better to point out that the 'actually' is redundant; it's actually redundant most of the time I actually see it.

Ah, Pedantry! How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

What Patrick said.

Coincidentally, I'm graduating this December (two quarters early! woo!) with, you guessed it, a Creative Writing major from UW.

Small world. :)

MacGyver could pull that off with a rubber band to spare.
