I have a pet pseudodragon! He guards my desk against unwanted intruders, shreds lackluster manuscripts for nesting material, chirps when I forget to go home at night, helps with insomnia, and spell checks documents for me! And if I can brag a bit... he was made by my mom for my birthday a few weeks ago! Apparently, it took her two years on and off to get him just right, with articulated and posable wings and legs, a tail filled with sand from the Point Arena beach (washed and cleaned, of course!), and sparkly hair that doesn’t quite show up as well in the photo as it does in real life. His name is Gwangi. Gaze upon his majesty!

And PS: That’s a map of the entire Stolen Lands just behind Gwangi. Think of it as an "accidental Kingmaker preview," even if you can’t really make out the details.

Gwangi?!

Oh man that was an awesome movie.

(and I suspect one that may be mined for inspiration for future adventures!)

That's beautiful James, and not the least bit awesome.
You have a damned cool mother.

That so awesome! I wish I could could get my mom to make me one these :-)

If your mom can mass-produce these things, I'm sensing a whole new product line of pseudodragon plushies for Paizo. Wow. That's a lot more alliteration than I intended. o_O

That's great. Start feeding it bits of silver now to fend off the super-sized imps that we all know frequent the Paizo offices.

Celebrity deathmatch Gwangi vs. Chumley ?

Also, mad props to Mairkurion for recalling the Korvosan Pseudodragon vs. Imp situation :)

It was indeed a great movie.

Congrats to your mom for her work, she is very talented, and he(?) is an awesome psudo-dragon.

Worst. Preview. Ever.

There's a long and largely overlooked tradition here of (alternatingly purposefully or accidentally) photographic things on top of or around notes, unreleased art/manuscripts, sketches, or whatever have you.

But you want this be even more of a preview? Gwangi would be a fine stand-in for a character appearing in Pathfinder #32 and likely elsewhere throughout the course of the AP.

Now say something nice about James's mom's dragon! O_O

Awesome, a dragon with a sparkly beard!
And doesn't he qualify as a wyvern?
;-)

I want to be plushed.

So, you're saying the "dragon terrorizing the countryside" in this AP is going to be Gwangi the pseudodragon? ;-)

Soooort of...

I'm envious. No amount of explanation or resume of published rpg material would ever enable my mother to understand what a pseudodragon is, much less know well enough to make me one. Wanna trade moms, James?

Nnnnnnnnnope. ;-P

James' mom's dragon is in an inversely proportionate relationship with James' accompanying Kingmaker preview.

I'm having the guys from CSI clean up the photo of the map in the background, they are filling in the missing details using a reflection off the mug. I'll post the map later.

The dragon is really awesome James! Your mother is an all star crafter.

See if you can get the Blade Runner folks to help you—they can just look *around* the dragon.

I love that scene. Heck, I love all the scenes from BR.

Until now I had no idea that I could love Mairkurion even more.

Uh, I didn't take m'lord Baron to be a treehugger...

What's wrong, Asgetrion? Mairkurious? (Thanks for making that up, Jade.)

Yep, BAH, one of my all time favorite sci-fi movies. I got to see it in an outdoor cinema on top of a building in Athens through a haze of cigarette smoke. Outstanding.

What's not to love my dear Asgetrion? There is an Order to everything.

From great trees that we lay low come long shafts for our cold spears and our ever busy slave galleons.

Let's us bring the Infernal Empire's brand of love to all the corners of Golarion.

Just so you know, when I finally get to have PFS characters, they'll go Taldor and Osirion. Gotta stamp out you Chelaxians and your brand of love, so-called.

Lab results just came back, and apparently Cosmo's DNA is all over the desk. Which is a particularly creepy discover to be made using a photo...

Ok, that's just wrong on so many levels ;-).

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I recognize that dragon. :)

For those of you who are inspired to created your own, you can get the pattern HERE. I've made several fabric sculpture dragons using this pattern, although I've always made the limbs in a fixed position rather than do the button-work articulation. It's not a quick or easy project, but it does make a nifty gift or a unique item to donate to charity auctions.

HAH! I've been too distracted writing Haiku on the RPG forum to check this thread.

I can just see the techs working now:

We are going to make spears out of Mairkurion? A cunning plan, m'Baron! Now that you mentioned it, I think I start to feel the Infernal Love and Brotherhood flowing in my veins...
