Any GM Glyphs?
Or anything in particular I need to know about your character?
How do you feel about taking friendly fire?
This is a PaizoCon game, so you should be signed up on Warhorn before you come here. That also means we have a scheduled start date of May 27th.
Finally, roll a d20. Anyone who rolls a 19 or 20 wins a $15 paizo.com gift voucher!
Prize?: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Ra'uf Steelwheels, Dog of War

I have one glyph. If there is not enough for everyone at the table, it will go to the lowest level character.
Digging for treasure: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Locus 22

One glyph, same criteria as Ra'uf, though I suspect that might mean we swap Hero Points with each other :)
Locus will accept splash damage or other AOE effects. She's very logical in her outlook and sees it as a small sacrifice in pursuit of the larger goal.
Provision: Scroll of Heal (rank 4). Note that she can cast heal, so if others want to take the scroll as their provision then hand it off to her, she'll use it on you if needed. She does not normally prepare heal, but if there are no other healers or healing capacity in the party she can. Therefore, unless there's a "you traveled together for several days to reach your objective" element to a scenario (which it sounds like there is not for this one), she will do her daily preparations after meeting the team.
1d20 ⇒ 18
So close.
Locus 22
|
I signed up with Locus as she's a level 7 and so is Ra'uf. But we've not seen what the other two Players are bringing, so I may change to another character if it makes more sense for the party. I have a bard 7 (or 8 depending on if he levels up tonight) and a swashbuckler 10 as options.
Hobbs Picklesmith

I have 2 glyphs. Hobbs is a level 10 wizard.
1d20 ⇒ 2
Kaitlyn Deathsbane
|
4 glyphs. 7th level monk/medic.
Door prize: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Finally! A new door!
EDIT - I'll update her statblock tomorrow morning (my time)...
Provision: 4th rank heal scroll (hands it to Locus)... before telling her human to 'go around' ;)

Sorry, should have included that in her intro. Yes, she gracefully accepts any heal scrolls that folks offer to her.
before telling her human to 'go around' ;)
Nope! "Unable!" Still haven't quite gotten the sleep cycle reset, though.
To clarify, Minzy is an Expert Hireling for Diplomacy and comes with Legal and Accounting Lore - so her agent, accountant, and lawyer. The giant locust is her familiar "Toop."
And I hope the GM doesn't mind, but I added a slide at the end for Character Art for those that want to show something larger than a token.

Yep he was 9 until 2 days ago. I'll update him to 10 this evening.

Still need Hobbs and Kaitlyn's information on the Slides.
Looks like everyone's set on RPGChronicles.
Kaitlyn Deathsbane

oops. Done.

I forgot to mention that each morning Hobbs will give everyone a moderate elixir of life that expires at the end of the day.

There might be other classes or archetypes that can as well but I didn't look over everything. Just generating a particular deity or casting divine spells is not sufficient.Generating? Ugh! I need to figure out how to disable autocorrect on my tablet. I meant venerating.

Cleric or Champion Dedication can grant sanctification. Exemplars can get it with a first-level class feat.

Locus's spell does not seem to have any effect.
Is that a rank 2 dispel? Failure, and it is not lower rank then your spell so it is not dispelled.
Yes, it's a Rank 2 spell. Rereading some posts about Counteract, I should have been using her Spell Modifier including being Expert Spellcaster, so the result would have been 25.
But how does Rank 2 dispel magic remain relevant as you level? There's no Heightening line in the spell. One post stated that since the spell can't be heightened, you would always use a Counteract Rank of the Spellcasting Rank (i.e. 4 based on highest spell rank available) just as you use the Spellcasting Modifier.
| GM Super Zero |
You can always heighten it. Having a higher spell rank by itself is useful for dispel magic, so it's useful even without any listed benefits for heightening.
Technically you can do that for any spell, it's just not as useful. It makes your own spells resistant to countering, but that doesn't come up that often. Plus you could get that and a more powerful spell by casting something else of that rank.
Locus 22
|
I ... didn't know this. (Clearly.) I always thought heightening only applied to spells with a Heightened entry. I reread Player Core, and wow, that changes my tactics. I think the only time I've used dispel magic is on my bard and he was level 3 or 4 then, so it didn't come up.
As useful as airlift was, I think Locus will swap dispel magic into a rank 4 slot in her next preparations.
@Ra'uf, do you desire enlarge during combat? Locus prepares it by default, but if it's not a thing you need/want, she'll switch it out.
I presume Kat doesn't need enlarge?
Ra'uf Steelwheels, Dog of War

Nah, I don't find the extra damage to be worth the drawbacks of clumsy 1.
Kaitlyn Deathsbane

Nope. What Ra'uf just said... :)

Feel free to sneak a peek at the speak with animals spoilers everyone. I just placed the spoilers because I think it makes the post funnier to do so.
| GM Super Zero |
Incidentally... reconnoitering a hex usually doesn't require any checks, just time. Finding Deskari's Gullet, though, requires a check. In the event that you passed through the correct hex, I would have (theoretically) rolled those checks in secret, both because I didn't want to give away that there was something secret there to find and because I didn't want to discourage you from continuing to explore.
So if you were to (theoretically) look at your map and notice that all of your clues are pointing at a hex that's already checked off, that could be why.
If you wanted to revisit such a theoretical location to check again, you could feel free to make your own checks this time. You can use any skill that feels relevant (it says "skill," but I'll certainly rule that you can also use Perception). It's a high DC (after all, everyone [theoretically] failed the first time), but it's reduced for every landmark you've discovered so it would be more manageable this time (besides, if you're confident you know the location, you could stop and continue searching if you wanted to).
That said, if you want to keep exploring first there are still other things to find.

Yes. It does! :)
I'm not the only one making silly noises! :)
Kaitlyn Deathsbane

Kat is fine with friendly fire as long as she's not dying or in danger of such.
Locus 22
|
So that folks aren't waiting on me, I'm going to wait to post in Gameplay until I see Red's status. But Locus will be using Phase Familiar on Toop to prevent 20 damage to him (plus any precision damage, though I don't think there was any precision.)
Kaitlyn Deathsbane
|
Kat's Heroic Intervention just gave 15hp back to Toop I think.
Kaitlyn Deathsbane
|
Ra'uf, do you want hp back now or do you want another chance vs the poison? Kat's medic dedication can do a second battle med to a PC who's immune once per hour (Master Medicine).
Ra'uf Steelwheels, Dog of War

The character wants HP, the player knows that more poison saves is better.

It's one or the other. So who is deciding? :)
Ra'uf Steelwheels, Dog of War
|
You are. ;)
Not joking, it depends whether you are asking in character or not. If Kaitlyn yells out, "Do you need me to heal the damage or the poison?", Ra'uf will ask for HP.
Of course, I don't know what the poison is doing at this point...
Kaitlyn Deathsbane
|
well, poison is not a guarantee. I think it just gives you another save.

The deadline for reporting is a week away. I don't think we're going to finish before then (this is a bit of a long one), but I'll have to report it anyway.
So if anyone would like to make downtime checks in this thread, feel free.

Chronicles distributed, and game reported to HQ.
We're kind of done, officially, though I hope you'll stick around to the end of the scenario.

Chronicle received and looks good.
Thanks for a great game, everyone, especially Super Zero for running!
Locus 22

Chronicle is good. Sorry I can't stick around. I need Locus for a F2F game at GenCon, and I doubt any final boss fight we attempt would be done by then.
Thanks for a good game everyone.
