Yes, as long as you use your wisdom bonus to predict where the sentries are placed.

It looks like I have 7 ranks in Know History and a +1 Wisdom Bonus

1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 1 = 22

That's enough. You know where the sentries are and you know they regularly change every three hours.

It would not be prudent for an armed group of adventurers, most of whom are not elven, to approach the elven homeland unannounced. I will go ahead to a sentry post and inform them of our coming. You may need to find shelter. he says, as heads off.

As a sailor and a monk, not a forester, Drakkor is a bit lost on 'finding' shelter.

"One group of trees are as good as another. Right? Sit down. Put your back against it. Then rest...and that's about all I got."

You find a post up ahead. It has five guards there, all elven.

"Shade and grass shoyld be enough. Unless we expect to camp here?"
Varis finds a suitable spot and sits down, taking a sip of water.

Before he gets close to the post, he will announce his arrival.

Spoiler:
Greetings, Children of Qualinesti. My name is Lyzander of the White Robes, come with urgent news for the Speaker of the Suns. There are members of my party, several miles away from this location. I travel with a few humans, a half-elf and a minotaur. We come with peaceful intentions.

Male Human Psion 10/Atlanteologist 10

The Sentri replies in Elven;

Spoiler:
A minotaur, peaceful? Bring them in, then. The Speaker will hear of this.

He will return to his companions.
We are to meet with the Speaker of the Sun. We must be on our best behavior. he says as he leads them to the sentry post.

As they arrive

Spoiler:
In elven. We are here and are ready to travel to Qualinost.

Not carrying any overt weapons other than his driftwood staff and a dagger, Drakkor sighs ands starts to worry about how he can escape if needs to do so quickly. Elves and Minotaurs don’t have a great history together.

”I’m not saying it will be necessary…but if we have to make a run for it, and we get split up, try to make it back to where we rested back there. If not, head back to Solace. We can try and meet at the Inn.”

The White Robe offers a realistic response to the minotaur, The elven guards and archers are known for their accuracy, you would be dead before you made your 10th step.

Shaking his head, Drakkor disagrees.

"Have you seen me run? I can almost out-pace their arrows...and possibly deflect the rest. No, they would have to slow me down first somehow. But I digress, is it wrong to make a plan just in case it might help? You may have faith in these woods, but we are not elves. We know we are only being given the benefit of the doubt right now. That could change in an instant if they feel like it. I won't take their hospitality for granted, but I also won't shove my head under their very-sharp elvish sword blades either if I can help it."

M Human Warpriest 6, F:9 / R:4 / W:10; AC 24/11/24 HP:45/45

Varis gets up from his resting place.
"I don't think they would hold us unless they think we're serving the enemy. Let's see what we can do."

They aren't bloodthristy, but we can be on our best behavior. We'll probably have an hard time proving the gods are back on Krynn. Even for long-lived elves, that must be a fading memory...

The Speaker of the Sun was alive at the time of the Cataclysm. We have members of our community who are still devoted to the gods but have no clerical power. he adds.

Female Half Elf Fighter 3/ Bard 3, Init +4, HP 51/51; AC 18/13/15; Fort +5 Ref +6 Will +5, Per+7

Oh....

The thought that some elves, even if there were only a few in the world, were alive at the time of the Cataclysm, was enough to leave Kellandra speechless for a few minutes.

Part of her was elfic, even if she tried to hide it on her day-to -day activities, but there was so much she didn't knew about elves..

The bardess was starting to wonder if there were things about her heritage she was unknowingly hiding to herself, or afraid to learn

M Human Warpriest 6, F:9 / R:4 / W:10; AC 24/11/24 HP:45/45

"Humans couldn't live that long, we'd be neck deep in humans within two hundred years. And blood." Varis comments, knowing all too well the nobility and their politics, rivalries and conquering tendencies.

"Hopefully, we can grow into civilization at some point. In the meantime, it is up to us to guide and protect the weak."

He walks some time in silence before commenting on an earlier topic.
"How could they not believe us? I mean, it is one thing to see things cast from a staff. But I can cast. And not all my spells are invisible. Or without obvious effect. At the very least, Mishakal and Paladine are back." he is speaking both to the group and to any potential listeners around them, he knows politics. Not the flowery words and double meanings, but the flow of friendship, alliances and rivalries between noble houses can be tracked. Preparing the grounds is always a good tactic.

Shaking his head, Drakkor notes what he believes.

”The elves are an ancient and proud people. They may deny our claims simply because they can. Elves often feel slighted by other races’ successes I have heard. Technically the dragon’s head could be from some sort of mutated giant lizard we merely mistook as a dragon. We can really only wait and see what they say.”

My parents were students during the Lost Battles, where the forces of Beldinas Piloforo, the last of the Kingpriests of Istar sent Knights of Solmania and the Knights of the Divine Hammer to kill mages of all robe colors, black, red and even white. Being so close to Wayreth, they were able to take their Test, but I grew up on stories of the Cataclysm and the Lost Battles. he adds.

Are you half Qualanesti elf?

We know that E'li and the Dragon Queen are no longer in the heavesn, from the constellations. If one is back, so too is the other. he says. We know that her shrieking hosts are here as well.

Lyzander: yes.

One and a half.

Despite the tiredness, Kellandra answers jokingly

Lyzander speaks up,

We would seek to meet with the Speaker of the Sun and the Thalas-Enthia on a matter of great importance.

The sentry says in elven

Spoiler:
Why, what happened? What is that the human is carrying?

elven:
It would be best not to alarm the nation. If you cannot get word to the Speaker, perhaps to my Lord Gilthanas Kanan? We were school mates at the wizard school.
he says.

He turns to Varis, Cover or hide the head. We do not want to create a mass panic if we are able to get to see the Speaker.

M Human Warpriest 6, F:9 / R:4 / W:10; AC 24/11/24 HP:45/45

It takes you two hours, but you finally reach the city of Qualinesti. It is a city mostly composed of elves. You can't seem to find another human soul. The elves look at your motley crew. Some look upon you in disdain, others with fear.

"You can stay here at the Golden Griffin while we see about you seeing the Speaker of the Sun."

Ahto catches the looks or disapproval and distrust, shakes his head slightly and smirks.

Old Man Vultan had little use for elves, rarely speaking of them, and never favorably. Ahto had better experiences, at least when it came to the elves and half-elves he encountered in his travels. Certainly, he had thus far found no reason to distrust Lyzander or Kellandra. However, these elves living insular lives in Qualinesti appear to have developed a degree of xenophobia towards the other races of Krynn. He hoped that the dragon's head and the Golden Disks given to Goldmoon would be sufficient proof of their words. Nothing else would, he was certain.

Even an elven white robe?

As they approach the Golden Griffin, he will ask one of the guards to contact Gilthanas Kanan on his behalf.

After they are placed in their room, he pulls out the spellbook he found and attempts to discern what spells are in it.

The spellbook is written in the notes of Fistandantilus. A read magic spell is needed to help decipher them. As for Gilthanas, they reach word of his coming.

He will cast read magic and then ask for the inn to prepare refreshments for Gilthanas.

He will let the group know that the younger son of the Speaker of the Sun, a classmate of his from his time in wizard school, will soon arrive. I am sure if we can get him to listen to us, his father will be more receptive. But please remember, you are dealing with an elven prince in an elven capital city.

Female Half Elf Fighter 3/ Bard 3, Init +4, HP 51/51; AC 18/13/15; Fort +5 Ref +6 Will +5, Per+7

We'll be on our best behavior. What is the formal title we must address him with? Should we wait until he speak to us to answer?

The formal title, is Lord Gilthanas, since he is the second son of the Speaker and a direct descendants of the founder of our nation, Kith-Kanan.

M Human Warpriest 6, F:9 / R:4 / W:10; AC 24/11/24 HP:45/45

Varis reiterates Kellandras question
"And do we speak with him? Is there a protocol for introduction? He goes first, we go first, you introduce us after a small talk? We're in a serious situation, let's be as prepared as we can. These diplomatic missions can be complicated without outsiders making it more difficult."

He shrugs
"We can always be just 'guards for Goldmoon', but then we are limited in interactions others would expect from us and it might create additional problems. We should be open, but respectful."

"I think I'll just keep my mouth shut unless spoken to directly," Ahto says in a surly tone. "I'll give them an equal measure of respect and courtesy as they give me." He glances around at the elves who have been whispering and pointing at the group. "So far, that isn't much."

M Human Warpriest 6, F:9 / R:4 / W:10; AC 24/11/24 HP:45/45

"What do we hope to get from them? I mean, Goldmoon mentioned some prophet, but why start here specifically?" Varis keeps the questions pointed at Lyzannder

And to Ahto, he shrugs
"We need their help, no sense in being disrespectful over minor infractions. Elves are always disrespectful toward others, being mostly brought up in isolated communities and viewing themselves as superior. You can see in Lyzannder that such personal failing gets cured once they see the world.

The minotaur nods and quietly agrees.

”Amen brother.”

He then continues to quietly sit and watch out for Goldmoon and her male counterpart. It would not do to have the disks get taken away or the woman hurt by the elves in some vague misunderstanding.

An elven waitress comes to you. She is lither than Tika, and she is wearing a golden gown. She has pointed ears, and like all elves, are much more beautiful than the waitresses you are used to in Solace.

"Are you ready to order your dinner?" she asks, looking at the motley crew. She sighs in relief when she sees Lyzannder. "Good to see you, good brother."

It may be possible that the Prophet that Goldmoon looks for is here among the elven people. Even if that person is not, it would take much longer for those who may be following us to get to Qualanesti and through the elven homeland, than if we are out on our own in the wilderness wandering around. The elves still have temples here to the gods of light and many who still take care of those temples. They have not fallen into disrepair. Perhaps Goldmoon can find answers there.

When Gilthanas arrives, I should do the majority of the talking. We studied together. Any supports would be necessary. If we can get him to listen to us, it might be easier to convince the Speaker to let us through. Be warned that Gilthanas is not as caught up in elven tradition, as is brother, Porthios, but Porthios is heir. Gilthanas, though, is still an elven prince..

He turns to the elven maid

Elven:
A little cheese, bread and white wine, please.
