After Ushi misses with his dagger, he looks over these fey and recallls they are lurkers in twilight and they are vulnerable to silver…
You may ask two more questions…
Levin also misses but Waki slashes purple deeply, though it doesn’t do quite as much damage…
In the meantime, Patchouli, heals the celestial and she starts to come around, while Grey veil sics his swarm on orange yet again…
Orange squeals, ”Screw this!” and flies away…
Undeterred, purple and red attack again…
Dagger: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

While Waki & Levin take down purple with two mighty blows, Ushi & Greyveil sting and stun red, leaving it open to be taken down next round…party over!
Patchouli continues to heal Cybelle and she comes around. ”Where am I? What happened…lurkers…MOM?”
COMBAT over! Pathfinders victorious!

"Rest easy, the lurkers have been defeated." Ushi reassures the younger woman. "Fate lead our path across your plight and both you and your mother are safe."

Waki bows and steps back but watches for any new or hidden menace
GM Otha

The Celestial sits up, smiles weakly, and says, ”Thank you for rescuing me…they were going to sacrifice me…I know where I’m at now though…I can find my way back from here…but what about you? Are you going to take on the evil wisp? Be wary, it is most dangerous…and pure evil…”
Patchouli Rosenthal
|
"Yes, we will tackle the wisp, that's what we're here for. Do you know where the evil wisp is?" Patchouli asks.
And she will also search around the area for potential loots/supplies.
GM Otha
|
"Yes, we will tackle the wisp, that's what we're here for. Do you know where the evil wisp is?" Patchouli asks.
And she will also search around the area for potential loots/supplies.
Cybelle cocks her head. ”You don’t know? Just follow the the path you’ve been following, the glistening trail lit by Ashava’s light; it leads to the Glade of Silver Sparks, where you will find Tulvatha…”
Patchouli finds daggers upon the corpses of the lurkers, along with some empty vials which reek of poison…
"Really, anything you know about it would be helpful. Where it is, what it's capable of, favorite meal, anything. None of us have seen it before."
”I have not seen it before, either; but I soon would’ve if not for your rescue. I only know she is evil and is capable of anything…best be wary…I must get back to my Mother. Farewell, my rescuers, I am in your debt,” she says as she leaves…
You follow the illuminated path which eventually leads out into a dense fog…
A layer of dense fog covers the landscape like a pale shroud. Distant howls of anguish and the discordant sound of bells rattling in the wind inexplicably echo in the distance. Ambiguous shapes begin to form but then dissipate back into the mists as quickly as they appeared. With each step, the loamy odor of wet earth and oakmoss wafts up, mingling with the sharp scent of ozone and a faint aroma of flowers. A damp chill hangs in the air.
You can sense the glade is near…but also something foreboding in the mist you must get thru before reaching the glade…
Need Perception checks from everyone…
Patchouli Rosenthal
|
Patchouli will cast Bloodhound and Heighten Awareness upon encountering the fog.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 8 = 19
She has scent now and will use it to detect creatures
Levin Hessel

She has scent now and will use it to detect creatures
Actually, we've all got scent. (Though not the other effects of bloodhound.)
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Levin sniffs the air nervously. "Does anyone else feel... like we'rre alrready being watched?"
Greyveil
|
Greyveil still has his False Life up (10 temps, 7 hours duration) and might still have his Barkskin (70 minute duration?).
When he feels the foreboding he will drink his Alchemical Allocation elixir and follow it with a potion of Protection from Electricity, gaining the effects of the potion (60 points of protection) for 70 minutes without consuming it. He will also drink an elixir of heightened awareness as he looks around.
Perception, take 10: 10 + 21 = 31
Waki Huro

Waki follows along, wary of further surprises…
perception : 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

The mist gets thicker; you can see no more than 5’ around you. The glistening trail leading them to Ashava’s glade is no longer visible.
Ushi gets an answer to his query but not from Levin, feelings prove prophetic. From the misty void, a raspy, disembodied voice cuts through the din. “Beautiful,” it whispers slowly. “Delicious. All these lovely fears you’ve brought for me. Let me see them. Let me peer deep into your soul and free them from their cage, where you’ve tried to lock them up so tightly.”
Levin Hessel
|
"Sure," Levin responds, looking around uneasily in the thick mist for the source of the voice. "I'm terribly afraid of, um, breakfast pastries. The ones that have chocolate in the middle. And a barmaid to bring them. The thought of that just... really gets to me." One hand grips the handle of his sword.
Greyveil
|
Greyveil smiles a tight smile wondering this creature could have any idea of life on the plane of shadows and how mundane things are on this plane for a creature of the shadowrealm. He continues to move forward.
GM Otha
|
The eerie disembodied voice seemingly comes from within the mist itself…it talks to each of you, and neither of the others can hear your conversation, only theirs. The voice is curious, mocking, and eerily anticipatory as it awaits your answers…
How you respond to its queries and requests has an affect on this encounter’s outcome…
Ushi Goroshi
|
"I fear being as ignorant as I once was, as ignorant as you appear to be by your conjecture. To return my village of Nibung, an unsuccessful merchant, unable to see the wonders of the world outside our mountains, fear of THAT outcome is what drives me. What drives you? Anger and malice, hatred of outsiders? I find you pitiful."
Patchouli Rosenthal
|
"I worship Milani, not book. This book is merely the instrument of war that I picked up. I take pride in being able to kill with books, and with any other things. Without a book, I can kill you with a chair, a Pearl of Power, or with your mother's skull. The Everbloom taught us that the only thing to fear is fear itself."
Waki Huro
|
Waki instinctively draws both blades and looks around for the source of the voice
” Fear not always bad. Fear temper recklessness can. Keep alive you it may. “
GM Otha
|
I was waiting for Levin to answer…but I’ll move us forward in the morning if he hasn’t (or has) posted…
Levin Hessel
|
Levin shudders. He avoids honesty when he can help it, certainly when it advantages him. However, there are times when the brutal truth makes the path forward easier rather than harder. Maybe this is one of those times.
"Being forgotten." He says the words softly, as though speaking them aloud makes them real. "Now how about one for the other, eh? What do you fear? Being seen for who you are?"
GM Otha
|
A hollow cackle erupts from the swirling fog. “Hmmm, some of you answered truthfully, yet some were evasive…but even they have a core fear deep down that I recognize. Yes, that will do,” the voice purrs with a sense satisfaction. “Thank you for the scrumptious meal. Pleasant dreams, travelers.”
With that said, a haunt manifests itself next to Waki…
Misty images emerge from the fog, taking on horrifying shapes. A phantasmal image of your greatest fear forms in your mind…
You can first attempt a DC 18 Will save to recognize the image as unreal. On a failed save, the phantasm touches you, and you must succeed on a DC 18 Fortitude save or take 9d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 2, 1, 3, 3, 5, 4) = 32 points of negative energy damage and be shaken and fatigued for 24 hours.
Ushi, Greyveil, & Levin add +2 to your saves as you directly answered the mist’s question on your greatest fear…
Ushi Goroshi
|
Will Save: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 2 = 18
Ushi regards the phantasm with just a hint of disgust, otherwise unmoved.
Patchouli Rosenthal

Assuming we're group up in this mist...
Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17+2 vs mind affecting, +5 vs evil
Perception: 1d20 + 9 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 8 = 20
Fort: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18+5 vs evil

He shakes his head trying to clear the tendrils from his mind…
Greyveil

Perception: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (11) + 21 = 32
Greveil recognizes the approach of the haunt.
Will: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 = 16
Fort: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 2 = 21
Was tempted to choose to fail the fort save as Wayangs can once a day heal from negative energy. Would be funny but also would waste the resource.
unimpressed by the haunt Greyveil considers how he might put it to rest.
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 2 = 24

While a couple of you are haunted by bad visions, thus far, each of you withstand the physical effects of said visions…
Greyveil recalls the words of Luyvire before setting out on this mission…and the dance he taught you. Also with the blessing of Ashava, you feel other options are available against this haunt as well…
All that accepted the Blessing of Ashava, which is all of you, inherently know Perform (Dance) and Diplomacy are an option in ‘fighting’ this haunt…but let’s give Levin time to post his save(s) before doing any ‘fighting’…
Greyveil
|
Perform Dance: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Geryveil moves with sharp almost jerky motions that somehow look appealing as they are well suited to his joint configuration.
Waki Huro
|
Waki watches as it looks like the masters have the moves and schmooze to make it happen.
GM Otha
|
While Levin recoils from visions of his greatest fear, he withstands them physically…
Patchouli boldly stands forth against the haunt, commanding it…and the mist lightens and recedes from the aphorite in reaction…
…meanwhile, the haunt appears undaunted by Greyveil’s dance moves…
Sorry, I forgot to mention if you are in hybrid or wolf form, you may try to bite the haunt using your base melee attack first 1d6 damage; thus haunt is also subject to positive energy damage like all haunts…
The bold may post!

GM Otha

While Waki’s bite misses the mark, a touch from Ushi’s wand finishes off the haunt as the mist slowky dissipates enough for you see, once again, the path to the Glade of Silver Sparks before you. It is only a short walk ahead, thru the rapidly subsiding, and no longer dangerous, mist…
