Having found many of the other members of the party a little on the stuffy side, Deosil wanders back to Brasshorn during the serving of the tea.

Rather than trying to actually perform tricks, Deosil takes a more academic approach to the subject, offering to trade tips on techniques to confuse and misdirect in the hopes it will continue to make inroads with one of the few people who are Deosil's size.

After the first auction, it should be Round 5, but it looks like I am missing Round 4. As usual, Discover/Influence for Round 4.

Noticing that one of the fine guests still remains a bit of a black box, Sianfinn attempts to use her keen perception to figure out what makes Pikkry tick-- specifically, which of the party's various talents might be useful.

But then she can't help but overhear that Malqees is a fan of the performing arts...

"By any chance, have you been to Absalom lately? There's a play being staged there that had such a lovely ballad."

She takes in a deep breath and prepares to recount the tune that she had heard not so long ago.

Deosil fails to convince Brasshorn Fail, but Brasshorn is no doubt still talking with Deosil about his magic tricks. "You have plenty of tricks, you know that?" Success to Influence Brasshorn

Brasshorn then sidetracks their conversation about Pikkry and indicates that they should take anything Pikkry has to say with a grain of salt, as he’s been known to exaggerate his claims for social clout. Who knows if his new spiced cheeses are even real things. PCs gain a +1 circumstance bonus on the next check to Influence Pikkry.

Pikkry is having a good time with Tieri, enjoying the acrobatic stunts performed by the fighter. Success to Influence Pikkry Pikkry, in return, shares something to Tieri. A cousin of Pikkry’s told him that Malqees had recently lost exclusive play rights to the retelling of a historical religious hero’s story. Pikkry thinks it was because of her “condition”, the poor thing. He wishes he could do something for her, but alas.

"Bashii calls 460 gold for the crown. Pikkry becomes quite animated, willing to win at any cost. [b]"600 gold!" Pikkry exclaims.

"600 gold to Pikkry! Going once, going twice—" the auctioneer declares, the gavel poised above the podium.

The gavel strikes with a resounding thud. "Sold!"

Laughing, Pikkry thanks them for an exciting battle. "That was a thrill!"

On their next check to Influence Pikkry, Deosil and Bashii roll twice and takes the better result. This is a fortune effect.

As the guests return to mingling, Faqhir once again steps out into the middle of the garden, this time with a group of monks, one from each of the four Houses of Perfection — the Monasteries of Unblinking Flame, Unfolding Wind, Untwisting Iron, and Unbreaking Waves. They perform demonstrations of elaborate martial katas that incorporate the element associated with their monastery as the pond underneath cycles between elemental terrain and occupants of fire, air, earth, and water respectively.

DC 17 Perception check:
You notice that Malqees in particular enjoys the routine. You gain a +1 circumstance bonus to your next check to Influence Malqees if you discuss the performance.

Glenda takes the situation to her advantage and gains favor in conversation with Malqees about cooking. Crit Success to Influence Malqees

Malqees shares to Glenda that she overheard theatre attendees discussing fearsome rumors about a potential attack from Qadira, and the potential of a Jalmeray preemptive strike on Qadira in response. She remarks that it is rather alarming what people think to talk about when they believe no one is listening. Should Pathfinder Society ever wish to attend any of the productions she puts on, or have need of one written for them, they should simply contact her.

Deosil shares his connection with one of the Houses, impressing Pikkry with the moves he learned from Meleeka. Success to Influence Pikkry

Bashii joins Deosil and the duo shows an impressive act. Pikkry has to learn these moves. Success to Influence Pikkry

Pikkry confides to them that one of Pikkry’s cousins told him that some Maurya-Rahm have been secretly establishing new, exclusive trade deals with merchants from Absalom, resulting in a major disruption for Niswan’s merchant class. One of the involved parties apparently has a penchant for expensive and unique reptiles. Pikkry also indicates that should the Society ever require use of his cousin information network, they need only to ask. Deosil and Pikkry gain a +1 bonus to Initiative rolls in B2.

3. If you want to Discover something about the NPC, indicate what skill you would like to use (including the modifier if they are not in the Macros) and I will roll the skill secretly or you can roll them spoilered. If you want to Influence the chosen NPC, openly roll the skill you want to use.
4. Indicate what information you would like to learn if you Succeed or Crit Succeed to Discover. Choose from the following options:
> the lowest DC skill(s) (excluding any skills you already know to Influence)
> one of the NPC’s resistances
> one of the NPC’s weaknesses[/i]

DISCOVER (Concentrate, Secret):
You watch or study an NPC to learn more about that NPC’s preferences. Choose an NPC and attempt a Perception check or an appropriate skill check determined by the GM. The DC is typically found in the NPC’s influence stat block.
Critical Success Choose two of the options detailed in Success below; you can choose the same option twice to learn two pieces of information from the same category.
Success Choose one of the following: You learn which skill that can Influence the NPC has the lowest DC (skipping any skills that you already know), one of the NPC’s personal biases, one of the NPC’s resistances, or one of the NPC’s weaknesses.
Failure You learn no information.
Critical Failure Choose a piece of information to learn about, as success, but the information is incorrect. For instance, you might think the NPC is susceptible to flattery when actually the NPC is resistant to flattery.

INFLUENCE (Concentrate, Linguistic):
You attempt to make a favorable impression on an NPC to convince the NPC to support your cause. Choose an NPC, and attempt a skill check to impress that NPC. The DC, and whether success is possible, depend on the NPC’s preferences (typically found in the NPC’s influence stat block).
Critical Success You gain 2 Influence Points with the chosen NPC.
Success You gain 1 Influence Point with the chosen NPC.
Failure You gain no Influence Points with the chosen NPC.
Critical Failure You lose 1 Influence Point with the chosen NPC.
