"Eek!"
Trober immediately unslings his pulsecaster rifle and begins grabbing nearby foliage in order to create a makeshift barrier between him and the creature to his north. Barricade

Persuade the southern one and we will kill the northern one!, he answers Volitare and rushes at the dinosaur coming from above. Running up, he kicks the lizard with all his might... in the knee?
Stunt and Strike (Athletics): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27 - vs DC 20 + target’s CR
KICK: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 201d3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 - vs KAC; target could be FF (see check above)
If Stunt and Strike and attack roll both succeed, target should roll a DC 14 Reflex check or be knocked prone

Anthehtriss kicks the shins of the lumbering creature, which lets out a loud yelp, only to strike back. The other one seems to smell the fear of Trober, and goes straight for him, but missing by a wide margin.

It looks like Volitare's words have some effect on one of the monsters, but it only takes until Seldszar lands a shot for it to start thrashing again Owowww. Shoot me, you mug?
You can try more checks to calm the creature(s) if you want
Arachne also lands a shot on the other creature, who is likewise unamused.

That's strange, both of these creatures had a a triangular tracking tag clipped to their ear.
The flight back is uneventful, and back at the station, the Doctor is quick to thank the group for their efforts, even before he had time to inspect the samples.
Once he gets to inspecting them, he is overjoyed Wonderful, you've collected such good specimens and free of contamination! Absolutely wonderful. He then rattles in a drawer and produces a mk 1 serum of healing Have this as a reward! Your samples with go a long way towards helping these miners!

DM Kludde |

The smell of incense wafts from the depths of the candlelit room. Folds of fabric billow along the walls, while wooden shelves cradle all manner of esoterica. Seated cross-legged in the center of the room is a tall sarcesian, her white eyes staring into a pitch-black scrying mirror. Her lips move faintly, as she whispers words too quiet to discern. Suddenly, her head whips up as she bellows, “The Missing is found, and it hungers! Star lost, star consumed; born anew. Weep for the harbinger! Weep for the lost! The bugs shall have their due!” Her vision clears as she looks up, and a smile that could part the rainclouds bursts forth. “Sorry about that!” she says in a raspy voice. “I was communing, you understand. I am Nykitipolos, but all my friends call me Nykiti, and we’re friends, or we will be, so you should too. Tea? I’d be delighted to read your leaves after, if you like.”
“I sensed that you would be visiting me today, Starfinders. The comets spoke of it, and also the First Seeker sent me a comm message. I know you’ve come to learn about me, as I am one of the four who may yet lead you. Your questions are important, and I shall take the time to speak with you.”
“However, there is an important task before you. Our mutual friend, Julzakama, recently came into possession of several magical items of unique interest to me. While all three will make fine additions to the Society’s collection, I sense that one is related to an interest of mine—a region of space known as Kazmurg’s Absurdity. It’s a strange place, which one can neither reach nor travel within using the Drift, unless one possesses special maps.”
“I’d like you to procure these items for me. All three, if you can, but the dragon is most important. You may think this a simple task, but the vibrations… they trouble me today. I fear danger. Take care.”

![]() |

"What was that vision you just had? It sounded like danger," Darakwinn says. It's hard to tell whether she's excited or nervous about the prospect.
"When you say 'procure' do you mean 'go pick them up' or 'bring them back without the person who owns them knowing?'" she asks about the mission.

![]() |

"This is all very interesting, but I am just trying to understand how strange visions and geek-hobby in collecting dragons makes you a potential future leader in the Society? We have an abundance of Liavaran Dreamers already, what makes you unique?"
"So far the jobs have been fairly clear, one candidate has us in a ham-fisted PR piece about the Society, which I suppose undoes some of our earlier brand damage, the other had us help with medicine showing the capability of the Society to bring manufacturing and technology to bear to help people - also good branding, but you seem to have us doing a simple fetch and carry, and frankly that just makes you a regular Venture-Widget who likes antiques"

![]() |

"Dragon??? Are you out of your mind! We can't bring you a dragon!"

DM Kludde |

You are asking about my mandate? To investigate magical occurrences and anomalies, like Kazmurg’s Absurdity, and to untangle the mysteries presented by some of the magical objects and ancient relics stored within the Lorespire Complex and the Society’s other holdings. Sounds fun, yes?
“Unfortunately, my divinations only show me so much. I suspect the gods have a fear of ‘spoilers.’” Nykiti sighs when asked about the vision. “As Starfinders, we must prepare for anything, yes?”
They are items Nykiti ensure Trobers ? “Three they are, and three they shall remain,” Nykiti intones with heaviness. “One, the jasper dragon; two, the dancing sword; three, the fairy’s wand. Return them to me and unlock the Absurdity.” Nykiti clears her throat.
“That’s what was imparted to me, along with a vision of the pawn shop. I know little more than that at present. The jasper dragon is of greatest importance, however.”
---
Double doors connecting the shop’s back room to a warehouse stand ajar, emitting a cacophony of sound and light. A shower of glittering lights flies in front of the doorway, while in the center of the room, ripples of energy emanate from a pile of boxes. An unconscious figure lies near the center of the room, and behind them a golden sword merrily dances through the air.

Before Darakwinn steps in, he notices that the lifeforce on the unconscious Vesk is beng sapped by the waves of energy. If the Vesk isn't removed from the area soon, he'll likely die!
Due to the nature of the encounter, I'm putting us in rounds. Let me know what you want to do.
I've indicated some areas on the map, which are (fairly obvious) activated traps, that need skills to deactivate: Engineering or Mysticism for the dragon, Athletics, Mysticism, or music-related Profession for Sword, Diplomacy, Engineering or Mysticism for the dancing lights. Seldszar shrugs "Sounds like a deal to me" the Drow smiles "That covers the basic care call-out fee for the medical and magical aid you were rendered, but there is still the cost of the actual spellcasting services rendered upon you by a registered 3rd circle Mystic, an initial consult with a medical practitioner and the use of medical consumables - in a busy market I might add - and the additional cost of being afforded the platinum status priority 'no wait' service to sail past the queue"
