I'm assuming Abaal will take the other since he seems best suited to be suited.
Zartan puts a hand on Elby's shoulder, With me, not ahead, and watch your step.
The ever watchful ifrit takes point with the more heavily armored half-orc.

The green metal doors open to reveal a short hallway extending five feet to the north before ending in a billowing curtain of opaque, multi-colored gas. Every few seconds, the gas glows with an inner, largely obscured radiance—first red, then blue, and finally white before the cycle begins anew. The swirling gas makes distance difficult to determine, but perhaps eighty feet away, a wide column of dull green light casts a lugubrious radiance over the chamber.
Zartan's sixth sense tingles and he immediately grabs Elby's shoulder. He think the opaque fog are poisonous gas.
New map is up in position 1. "Left" is North.

Not really. He's more of a "mobile fighter."

Abaal Zadeir, Sword of Katapesh

"I can wear the blasted thing, assuming of course that you think we'll be able to see anything once we are inside."
Zartan Samuel

Definitely a trap. Let me see if there's a bypass on this side otherwise I'll have to borrow one of the suits.
Perception, suit: 1d20 + 19 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 19 - 4 = 28
I'm assuming the will be a disable on the other side of the fog. Note that Zartan disables in half the time because of his prestige class and has the option to go even faster because of skill unlock: disable device
Take 10 on disable device for 31
| GM_Colin |
There seem to be a invisible barrier that stop the gas from flowing onto your position (the green door), but you can put your (Decemvirate suit covered) arm through the barrier without being blocked by it.
Zartan looks around and realizes the vents that the poisonous gas is coming out from is not by the door, so he can't disable it by just standing next to the fog. Zartan might need to venture into the fog to disable the trap, but the visiblity in the fog is very low.
Zartan also recognizes the gas as burnt othur fumes, which is extremely harmful to one's body a.k.a Constitution.
What will you do, Pathfinders?
Zartan Samuel
|
Zartan takes Abaal's suit for environmental protection and Ashwell for physical protection before venturing in to find the shut off valve.
| GM_Colin |
Both suit offer the same amount of protection, so you only need to wear one.
Zartan suits up and step forward. Thanks to the suit, whatever that's in the fog does not affect him. He can barely see anything in the mist. After a few step, he sense...
Zartan's Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 20
...there's literary nothing beneath his feet in front of him. He realizes that the floor drop down for a decent distance beyond the barrier that holds the gas, but is unable to determine the exact distance of the drop due to the dense fog. You would imagine those who are not careful will have to endure a fall into the unknown.
In other word, you are on the edge of a "cliff"
Zaigan Greenwood

"Did you succeed, Zartan? Is it soon safe to enter?" Zaigan yells
Zartan Samuel
|
Depends. Can you fly? It's a big hole after the first step.
Zartan will go prone to check if he can see under the fog into the hole. If not he will attach a rope to himself for the party to use as a life line before casting fly from his Celestial Armor and scouting the room.

In the fog, you can only see 5ft in front of you. What's your searching strategy? Go down to the floor? Following the wall on the side? Keep to the ceiling?
| GM_Colin |
Zartan start checking the perimeter of the room at green door's altitude.
When he flies to the right edge of the room, he sees a large, stylized bas-relief purple face, compete with staring eyes and a howling mouth large enough to fit a human, spewing out gas in violent color.

Good job! With clever manipulation and skillful hands, Zartan shuts down the eye beams as well as the gas vent with amazing speed, all without getting hit by the freezing beam. Colorful gas is still coming out from other parts of the room. Zartan think there're probably more traps of this type that's creating the fog.
If you go around the room you will encounter 5 more traps of this type. Even though Zartan is skillful enough to guarantee the success, tt's set up in a way that one will be hit by the trap's effect (eye beams) at distance where trap spotter just activated. If you can give me 5 more Reflex save, then I will call all the eye beams and gas vent disabled.
That's is, if Zartan want to disable all the traps.

With the fog finally clearing Zartan calls back It took a dodge, a duck, a dip, a dive, and another dodge but we should be able to see in just a minute.
| GM_Colin |
Zartan easily dodged ALL eye beams and disabled the colorful faces, stopping them from shotting beams and pumping poison gas into the room. He then flies back to the platform by the green door, gladius in each hands, put them through the invisible barrier, and strikes the gladius together.
BOOOOM!
The sparks ignite the poisonous gas in the room and create a HUGE EXPLOSION that burns out all the gas. However, Zartan and his teammates that stand behind the invisible barrier aka all of you are not affected by the explosion at all.
With the gas cleared out, you can see the layout of the room clearly. This long hall have 3 alcoves on either side, with stone face in each of it 30ft above the floor. A mustard-colored, moldering carpet occupies the majority of the floor space, extending from the bottom of the 30ft drop to the eerie green light pillar on the other end of this room.
The room seems empty now. Zartan's Fly spell is still up. Pathfinders, how would you like to proceed?
Zaigan Greenwood

Zaigan takes a hemp rope out of his backpack and ties it firmly, so it can be used to descend. "Moving on, may the light of Sarenrae guide our way."

Ash pulls his lesser rod of extend one more time and casts Fly, which will last 18 minutes on himself. He follows the others at approximately one foot off the ground.

Or you could just brace along the wall. It's the same DC. The knotted rope is for when you have to climb into a hovering helicopter, most of the time there's a wall or other surface to brace against. This has been a Dungeon PSA with Abaal. ;)
Abaal rappels down the line. And then takes a moment to scan the area with his wayfinder's magical black light.
He takes 10 for 20 and 'accelerated-ly' climbs down giving him a little longer to scan. Note he can't hit the far wall from his current location.

Zartan flies down to the floor and takes out a small bottle labeled "rogue things", then pours it on the acidic carpet. Its roguish and magical+alkaline content causes the carpet to start sizzling and soon neutualize the carpet. Other pathfinders then start rapple down with Zaigan's rope. Abaal's routine scan detect nothing besides the lingering conjuraion aura on the carpet.
I've moved those who rolled Climb check to the lower floor. The climb DC is 5.

Ashwell and Kali have about 2 round worth of action you can do after Zartan disabled the carpet trap and before the ambush happen. You can move your token to where you would like to be after the paladins have scale down the rope.
Round -2: With a jarring rattle of chains, Kali springs from her resting stress-position after the traps are dealt with, and eagerly rappels down the rope; if she has time in the round, she also avails herself of a stout little flask of translucent, tinny-shaded liquid (potion of mage armor)...
Round -1: ...Once at the bottom, she concentrates a moment to fortify her flesh against harm, like lightning-scarred bark on an old hangman's tree.
Round 1 - FIGHT!: Damn it, she thinks. Not my favorite foe; I should have expected as much, though...
Quick on the draw nevertheless, Kali concentrates the dark pitch within her soul until it ignite into a red-hot spear of energy from each fist!

Two fiery rays come out of Kali's hand and melts the adamantine body, cutting the snake into 3 sections. The cut sections are still red hot from the scourching spear of fire.Blue snake uncoils its body at the surprised Abbal and bites his ankle. Its fangs inject venom into Abaal's system, which doesn't seem to affect him at all. Petty poison is no match of Abaal's battle-hardened body! Abaal takes 6 HP damage from the bite
