Kzem staggers from the blow, taking just a split second to collecting himself. His hand flips in the firelight, the small mirror catching the light and projecting a hazy image of himself on the far side of the Ogre. In one motion he strikes with his shield and then brings it up into a defensive position.

Beggar So manages to catch Blue with the third fist, but it's enough so that when Thorn puts a bullet in him, it brings him to the edge of death. Buzz's first stinger lands right in his eye, felling him.

Kzem, mirror can only go 15', but the attack still hits. Kzem walks up and smashes Yellow to the ground.

Combat over!

It appears the dungeon’s creator built this room to torture enemies, either to extract important information or for sadistic thrills. None of the torture devices are in working condition

However, the heroes find a bloodseeker beak amid the remains of a broken chair. This item is a talisman that can be attached to a weapon. If the hero wielding that weapon hits a creature with the off-guard condition, they can activate the beak to deal an extra 1d4 damage, or 1d4 persistent bleed damage if the attack already dealt sneak attack damage.

He looks around, proudly at what they've accomplished but then focuses on Thorn and sets back to work on him to finish up the healing he started.

When everyons is healed up, they head back across the intersection to the northern tunnel. I'll use Slide 2 as an overview of where you are in the dungeon, and Slide 1 as a combat map.

This area appears to be an empty set of prison cells. Five cells surround the central area of this dank prison, their barred doors all hanging slightly ajar. Each cell contains a cot hanging from one wall and small piles of refuse, including scraps of cloth and gnawed-on bones. The wall next to the northern exit has a small wooden cabinet mounted on it.

A rusted metal gate that leads to this area is latched shut from the inside, requiring a Thievery check to Pick the Lock or an Athletics check to break the gate open.

Thorn begins trying to pick the lock, but it's more difficult than he anticipated. The tumblers aren't quite lining up and maybe it's because this lock has been picked previously. He tries again, jiggling the rake, and Beggar So is getting antsy. Just as Beggar So is about the break the gate open, there is a satisfying click and the door pops open.

Beggar So goes flying through the open door, shocking the kobold hiding inside the cells.

Beggar So will start inside the cell area but I'll take his Athletics roll as initiative.

Among the kobolds’ possessions are a skeleton key, a shining arrow, and a moderate thunderstone. The cells are not luxurious, but it does provide a safe place to sleep for the night.

I'm okay if you want to rest for an hour and then move on after a second Treat Wounds so So is sewed up for sho.

This spacious chamber has exits to the north and south (plus the one you entered from). The room looks like it once served as the main entrance, used by visitors coming to pay fealty to an unknown leader. At one point, lavish furnishings decorated this room, but those items have since crumbled from age — if not stolen by looters or appropriated.

Stray feathers litter the ground, along with several fist-sized pellets of dung pushed into one corner. The pellets and feathers come from the chamber’s two beastly inhabitants.
