As you walk down an alleyway, following the smell of pesh, you spy through a window the scene of an adventuring group leaving Omira's shop with newly purchased wares. Inside the next window, you see them being slain in an alleyway by daemons.
Turning a corner, you come to the purple door once more. You open it cautiously, expecting trouble. However, you find only a memory. Omira walks past you into what appears to be an herbalist's shop. "Hello!" she says congenially. She then grabs her head in both hands before falling to the ground in pain. The room becomes an empty chamber except for a runic circle painted on the floor in blood, Omira bound to the floor within the circle, and a jackle-headed daemon with terrible claws chanting over her. As the daemon completes the ritual, it touches Omira's forehead. A yellow glowing eye matching the daemon's own opens in the middle of Omira's brow. Then you see Omira staggering back past you before everything fades away.
You find yourselves sitting where you began. Omira is wide eyed and a little pale. "Oh my."

GM Blake |

"Well, that's going to take some thinking on," Omira says, forcing a smile. "And I'll probably need to call on some old friends. But that's not for today. Thank you for restoring my memory. Please let me repay you now."
She stands and goes to the table where the encrypted parchment rests. She speaks the command word to unravel the encryption. "These are the last words of a friend of mine, Mauhrim," she says a little sadly. "I last saw him when a hall in a tomb collapsed. It looks like he did not die immediately and recorded his last moments."
She turns the parchment toward you. The scroll details how Mauhrim was trapped in a vault below the tomb they had been exploring. He observed a sarcophagus exude a dark miasma that appeared to be slowly rebuilding the corpse within it. The scroll contains as many details as he could before he pushed the scroll through a crack in the rubble in the hopes that someone would find it and its warning.
The Pathfinder Society will be interested in these details about an ancient tomb.

![]() |

"Thank you for your cooperation today. What we learned today will be vital for the Society. We are sorry for what happened to your friend. He was brave to get through all this and was able to send us a warning about what he saw." Avery tells Omira.

"Yes, I'm sure we'll be able to act on this information, or at least pass it on to someone who can," Kaz says calmly and confidently while Zak continues to look aloof and disinterested.

Jun-Mei gives the shopkeeper a puzzled look. "I'm not entirely certain I understand the significance of these visions. What do you think they mean?"
After the contents of the scroll are revealed Jun-Mei's expression turns sour. "It seems that a vampire or lich or some other horrible undead resides in that tomb. We'll need to visit it at some point and put an end to it."

Tiger shakes his head, not sure whether what he just experienced was real. "In my many travels, this is one I'm not likely to forget anytime soon. What was that thing?"

GM Blake |

I agree. It is a rather interesting non-sequitur.
Omira sighs and nods. "I suppose you do deserve a bit of context. Many years ago, my Pathfinder friends came across a fiendish temple dedicated to the Horseman Trelmarixian. Within was an artifact dedicated to the Horseman, which we destroyed.
"It appears that Trelmarixian sent one of their meladaemons after me. When I went to visit the new shop across the street, she ambushed and captured me. Through a rather painful ritual, she bound my senses to her. So she is listening to what I hear and seeing what I see right now." She wipes a tear forming from her eye. "You must have come across some of the daemon's memories, too. The adventurers who were killed--I didn't see that happen or know that it happened, but I do remember selling them supplies. It must be some sort of perverse revenge."
She turns to one of her shelves and removes a haversack. "Please take this as a reward for your efforts. You truly put yourselves on the line facing my--literal--internal daemons."
And I forgot to link the serpent bolts:

![]() |

"Indeed it was, my friend, most strange indeed. Until this matter is resolved once and for all we should probably warn pathfinders to only visit this shop in groups."

GM Blake |

"That is wise," Omira says as she bids you farewell.
Knowing that the Society will want to know about all that you have learned, you hasten on back toward the lodge. Unfortunately, an opposing force has other plans for you.
As you emerge from an alleyway, you hear the sound of buzzing flies. This is not unusual by itself as the litter in the alleys brings the pests, especially on warm days. However, looking to your right, you see that it is not simply flies that produce the droning buzz but rather grotesque little fiends half-obese human and more than half-giant fly. Their compound eyes stare without blinking and sharp mouth parts emerge disturbingly from their otherwise human-like mouths.
A man in robes stands atop a balcony overlooking the crossway and asserts, "The traitor Zarta will pay for her crimes against Cheliax, but first, her paws will fall!"

The man chants and summons a ball of hellfire to rise out of the ground where Jun-Mei is standing. He then wards himself from harm.
The other fly demons begin buzzing forward. The blue bottle demon springs into the air and bumbles toward Jun-Mei. It flips over in midflight as it lunges for Jun-Mei and manages to take a bite out of the fence. However, it seems to have gained some advantage as Jun-Mei is just a moment too slow. The fly demon sinks its mouthparts into her and drinks her blood while exchanging it for something vile that burns.

Thanks. I should have added a note to apply the highest persistent damage from the Strikes that hit. Or should I only roll one persistent damage? The Support text does not mention if it is for every Strike that hits, then implied to choose the highest if the target receives multiple persistent damages of the same type.
I will also add deadly d10 in the future, it will be easier for the GM actually. Thanks.

Technically they would only take the persistant damage at the end of their turn. I usually just let the GM take care of it. If one of my characters is taking persistant damage I usually roll it at the end of my turn along with the recovery check to lessen the GMs workload.

Professor escapes the fiery hell ball and moves down the alley where he invokes the power of lightning. It immediately fries the bee fly zebub, which drops down next to Avery. Somehow the bluebottle zebub rotates in a circle and the lightning strikes a random piece of metal sticking out of the wall.
Laohu puts Avery back together and throws his javelin at the remaining demon. It grazes it.
Avery sends a trio of arrows at the diabolist. The first one sinks in his shoulder painful. While he's recovering from that pain, the second one takes him out in the eye.
After that, it is a matter of little effort to finish off the last of the wounded zebubs.
Once you take the time to patch your wounds, you make your way back to the Grand Lodge without further interference. Zarta is there waiting with Biglock and Mr. Glovely.
"Welcome back," Zarta says with a smile. "Tell me what you have learned. Hmm. You look a little worse for wear, too."

"Huh? Oh, that. We were attacked by a murderous diabolist. But never mind that, we have to tell you what happened at the shop!"
Kaz starts to explain, but isn't sure whether to start with the mindscape or the revealed message.

"Don't forget about the daemon killing Omira's customers. The Pathfinder Society will need to help her deal with that at some point."
