Well, well, well. I'm back - and this time, I'm not going to leave any bottles of cheap space-liquor intact, in all of the Pact Worlds :D
Anywho. Hey cmlobue! Saw you GMing a high-tier scenario and wanted in, if that's okay! I've got a lvl 12 ryphorian ranged support mystic, or a level 12 debuffing stellifera witchwarper, I can bring to the table. I have a slight preference to play my witchwarper, since 1) stellifera are boss, and 2) I've never seen a witchwarper at this high a level before! But if it's better for party composition, I am quite happy to play a support mystic as well. Plus, if it matters a great deal, my mystic has played through Live Exploration Extreme!, Duskmire Accord 9, and Future's Fall, so he has a big connection to Salvation's End.

Katrina has also been through nearly all of the Salvation Moon scenarios, except Clone Batch Catastrophe. She's also now level 12 - Daredevil Operative. She's still looking for Silvermane's home planet but apparently it's not P0N-3 or Equis. The unicorns there only stand between knee to hip height and Kat is only 5ft 3ish.

Okay, looks like the party is Technomancer, Technomancer, Operative, Operative, Fighter-Jock, and me. I don't think that party composition especially calls for either mystic or witchwarper over the other, so I'm just gonna follow my heart and bring Empress-on-Grey, my squid witchwarper. (Unless cmlobue finds out there's a strong incentive to bring a PC that's played in Salvation's End before.)
I'm planning to bring my Lashuntan fighter-jock who's callsign is Quantum-K.
Kishmo has run her before, though I don't recall playing at tables with his PCs with her.
Aw sweet! My stellifera witchwarper is the character that I assigned my GM credit to, when I GM'd you guys through Fleeting Truth. So, in a sense, Q-K and Empress-on-Grey are already familiar (although, in the way of witchwarpers, maybe it was just an alternate reality where their adventures happened that way :D)

So much of that trio of adventures fell into the realms between weird and strange that Kendra could easily have relived them in her dreams with the Empress-on-Grey at their sides.
Side note: since you were listing the characters by their actual classes, I'll add Quantum-K's here. She's an Envoy 10/Soldier 2 with the Ace Pilot theme.

Now I'm second guessing myself - since we have no 'meatshield' classes (melee soldier, solarian, vanguard, etc) maybe the extra healing that a mystic brings to the table would be more useful than a debuffing/controller witchwarper.
What does everyone else think?

I agree with Quantum K - play what you want to play.
I'm also in the process of getting Katrina ready. She has a Frostbite Zero pistol with a Ghost Killer Fusion on it and she recently purchased the more powerful Hailstorm model. Is it possible to move the fusion from one to the other or is it easier to get a new fusion put on. In either case, how much will it cost?
Some Starfinders may have heard of Katrina. Not only is she a daredevil pilot, she is a member of the Forum and is also known for putting on a mermaid tail and doing exhibitions for environmental charities, mostly those to do with the oceans of Castrovel. She has gill implants and has done at least two missions as a mermaid. She is also an honorary member of the Manta Corps.
Quantum K |
Quantum-K & Katrina have probably crossed paths before as members of the Forum.
When she's not on Starfinder missions, she's an experimental test pilot for the Castrovelean Space Defense Force.
So far as her fusion question goes, it looks like it can be transferred, though at some expense. Normally it'd cost 3580 to install a fusion on an L10 pistol, but transferring one only costs half that amount (1890). Not great, since she already paid 780 for the L5 install, but still cheaper than full cost.

...yeah, you're both right :D Screw party balance and magical healing, it's weirdo reality-warping psychic cuttlefish time!
Seeing as how stellifera are a primarily aquatic species, stands to reason my witchwarper and Katrina have probably hung out in the Lorespire Complex's aquatic areas before? And, as discussed, Empress-on-Grey has already adventured with Quantum-K before (albeit maybe in an alternate version of history :D) So, the party's basically already one big family!

Oh it's quite likely. Katrina lives with her sister, Selene, in the Puddles District. They've got a split level place that was a fixer-upper and Katrina recently got Big Jim from 'Jim Jams' to install a transparent aluminum wall in the lower level so Selene has a 'dry' section for her office for seeing clients. The rest of the lower level is full of water and is Katrina's 'play' area with an underwater bedroom. She also has part of the upstairs dry level as her office/workroom, The rest is communal living area, kitchen etc - Selene does most of the cooking.
Katrina is also used to witchwarpers. Selene is one. And yes, much of her free time is in the aquatic areas, sometimes with tail, sometimes without.
