Sunshine still can't believe she misses that retaliative punch she gave to one of the pirates. She has been quiet after that until Dennis gets the hat from Taldrun and wears it. She thinks it suits him better than the evil pirate.

That hat looks better on you." she tells her as the others begin conversing with another being from another room. But she chuckles and rolls her eyes when Dennis tells Ganthur that he borrowed the hat. "You stole it, just tell him that. The pirate's dead anyway." she scolded him.

Not interested in participating in the conversation, she prepares her healer's tools and gets attention of Mimi by letting her legchair lightly kick her to indicate that she will patch her wounds while showing her bandages and serums. She takes the opportunity that while the others are conversing to Ganthur, she mends Mimi's wounds.
DC 15 Medicine Check to Treat Wounds: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
HP recovered, Godless Healing feat: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (8, 1) + 5 = 14 HP for Mimi

"That's the best I can do to your wounds." she tells her while Sunshine shakes her head in disappointment to herself. She still can't move on from that failed punch of hers and now it is taking a toll on her healing abilities.

That makes Mimi at 33/44 HP while Sunshine is at 25/28 HP.

I count 42 for Mimi--I think you're skipping Pennypocket's soothe spell.

"You probably shouldn't linger too long," says Ganthur nervously, limping towards the window. "They'll notice something is wrong eventually. And the crew will return. Er--we're pretty far from the docks here. Did you have a plan for getting people off the ship?"

When Ganthur thanks him for the clan dagger, Dennis attempts to bow to the nice man. But his weapons make it awkward and he almost tips over. He laughs it off, "Lucky I didn't impale myself! That would be embarrassing. I'll practice more!"

At Ganthur's mention of a plan, Dennis rubs his hairless chin, "I find it best to leave plans to the smarter people." He looks to his allies and continues to the dwarf. "Do you have any ideas? Zoha has a boat. That's how we got here." After quickly coming up for air, and inexplicably forgetting the need for a plan, he continues, "But you're right. We shouldn't wait. Let's go down and free the prisoners." Dennis makes his way back to the center of the ship and stands near the stairs going down.

BK does a head wobble as the goblin goes up while the others go down. Preferring the odds when sticking with the bigger group he also heads down, though he does smile at Pennypockets before descending. It's a toss up which is scarier, a goblin's grin, or BK's. BK brings his ever present flute to his lips and starts playing some tense music as they descend, though he makes sure it is soft enough so that the enemy will not hear it and stops altogether when they get too close.

Sunshine leaves the room as well after the others decide to rescue the prisoners on the ship. She let her legchair follow Dennis and Mimi down to wherever part of the ship they would go next. But she stops at their tracks before they go down and calls out their attention when she finds a similar door in front of the ship. Dennis agrees with Mimi and Sunshine. "Yes, let's clear out this room first. Remember? It's where I heard the metal banging." Excited to check it out, the fighter leads the way through the door at the front of the ship.

"If he's here with his boat, sounds like you do have a plan," says the dwarf. "I.. think I'll head down there. That one boat might not be enough, but we can also steal a lifeboat if need be."

As the Pathfinder discuss their next plan, Ganthur climbs down to the boat.

Sunshine shrugs her shoulder when the group decides to go down the deck below first. She follows them, commanding her legchair to move down the stairs too. "Be careful, I don't wanna fall down that stairs."

The only light filtering in the room comes over the two staircases leading to the top deck as the gunports in front of the cannon on the broadside remain closed. Cruel laughter and the sound of sloshing water drift through the southern door.

A pair of doors flank the stairs the party just came down, and another set flank the other staircase at the other end of this long room.

Hurrying down the stairs, Dennis is disappointed there are no bad guys to poke.

He looks around and listens. "Does everyone hear that laughing? It's not a nice laugh. It sounds kinda mean. I don't like it. Not one bit." Dennis makes his way directly to the southern door. He gives the group a moment to catch up, before opening the door and charging through.

This room has access to steerage below, but the stairs leading down are underwater.

A halfling at the top of the stairs leading below to steerage crouches to fill a rusted bucket with seawater. Three more captives form a line to toss the water from a porthole while two hobgoblins move a heavy crate to a dry corner. A third hobgoblin, his scimitar held out threateningly, glowers down on the working captives. A corpulent hobgoblin sits atop a short barrel, watching the work with a cruel smile.

As the realization of who's at the door hits them, the hobgoblins go for their weapons while the captives either make for the other door or drop onto the waterlogged staircase.

"I already got trouble trying to make a patch," hollers the sitting hobgoblin, "The captain can't deal with intruders? Fine, handle 'em!"

"Yes sir, Vaggas!"

Weird how most of you got the same number... Anyway, Mimi and Quadennillia most definitely succeed on their Avoid Notice checks and start out undetected by the hobgoblins. Given that Red is down, it looks like Dennis is up along with Qen. I'll post now to keep the game moving. But feel free to have Dennis delay for Qen, if appropriate.

"Even if you kill me, you'll never beat the captain," he spits, "Sure he's coming now."

Successful Tumble, and two hits. The first one bloodies him, though yes he is still standing.

BK does indeed start playing a martial tune on his flute before whipping it at the pirate with a dramatic flourish, which sends a splinter of wood hurling at him. His mouth is too busy playing the flute or he would do a quip too.

"You're a bad liar!" But his face falls a little as he notes the captain's hat.

Snapping up the pike beside him, he jabs Mimi with it. He twists it viciously, not quite while it's still embedded in her flesh, but it does catch on her clothing. He yanks it to the side, throwing her off-balance and swinging her directly into his swinging fist.

"Hah!" Overconfident, he throws another wild punch, but this time he is the one off-balance--and wide open.

Banterknell misses. Pennypockets and Quadennillia both hit.
He uses his Pike and Strike ability, targeting Mimi. First he makes a pike attack, which hits for 11 piercing damage. That allows him to follow up with a fist attack with no MAP, which hits for 10 bludgeoning damage. Heartened by his success, he'll make another fist attack, which critically fails.

All PCs' turn.

BK has a couple of soothe spells he can cast when the time comes which might as well be now...

Seeing Mimi in dire straights he also casts an underwhelming soothe spell on her.

This time I'm posting Mimi's Opportune Riposte reaction. If only for the practice.

With BK's soothe spell, Mimi is still down 25 HP.

Dennis looks at the halflings (who are not that much shorter than he is), and assures them. "It's okay. We're the good guys. I'm Dennis! Hi!" He sees a couple of them staring at his captain's hat. "Oh I found this on the former captain." Removing the hat, he continuing talking quickly. "Do you like it? I think it makes look like a real pirate?" Focusing on the issue at hand (clearly a difficult task for the rambling youth), he continues, "Anyways, like Mimi said -- she's my friend who talks funny -- find the rope ladder to the rescue boat."

"I don't think there are any more parts below deck," says one of the now-former captives, "but there are more prisoners resting in the crew quarters for their turn bailing." She points across the gun deck towards the back of the ship.

"As for buried treasures..." says the halfling, edging around the bosun's body before diving into the water below. He returns lugging a small crate. "I think the kind of 'treasure' this crew collects are captives to sell or ransom, and most of the money will be with the ones shopping for supplies, but this is one thing in steerage that I think survived the water. It's really tightly sealed. And that emblem-- trade goods."

"Um," says a third, kneeling by the stairs and holding out a hand towards the water, "it's deeper than it was a minute ago, but just barrel. It was deeper than that when we first started. The ship is sinking, but not fast. We do got some time. Although i dunno about when the crew'll get back."
