Jiggo finally catches up as Salera sports a mile-wide grin. "That was... unexpected. I guess someone with connections to Chileax REALLY doesn't want the Pathfinder Society to gain control of that cathedral." He takes a few deep breaths. "First they try to curse us, then they hire mercenaries to disrupt our conversation. Maybe we can question these mercenaries to find their employer."
Jiggo dusts himself off before reaching for Valor's handshake. "Communication is key, Valor. I hope we've been able to generate some trust and good will between us and the Iomedaen Council. By the way, the offer is still open- we'd love more communication and perhaps cohabitation with you. Together, we'd learn so much more about each other. Even if we don't always see eye to eye." The symbol of Shelyn jingles against his clothing.
Salera distracts herself by disarming and searching the leader. The less Valor inspects her, the better. At least they're starting to make more sense in trusting Jiggo and the Society. The enemy is still out there, though. There is something inside the temple they don't want the Society to find and when they do, there will be Hell to pay.
"Jiggs, we should figure out who hired them. Maybe they have a contract letter on hand, or..." she grins. "We could ask them directly."

The Devil's Claw mercenaries confess that Aydrian Thrune hired them to break into the vaults, steal what they could, damage whatever they couldn’t steal, and generally cause as much chaos as possible. They know that a third party paid for their mercenary contract, but they don’t know exactly who—their only instructions were to follow Aydrian Thrune’s instructions. The mercenaries also share that they were expecting backup once they exited the building, but it never arrived—whether because they were betrayed or their allies backed out at the last minute, they do not know.

"The plot thickens..." Jiggo thinks. "Looks like we'll need all the help we can get, Valor."
