"Onye Dinta will do this," the catfolk says once it is clear that Daehalya's efforts are not sufficient. He braces himself to resist the inevitable pain as he moves to the water to fill the wooden mug.

Not trusting the device to hold the weight of the water nye decides to go in with his own canteen instead. Slowly he dips the the vessel ito the waters. As it touches the surface the boiling water bursts a bubble near him.

Badly burned Onye manages to gather the water and scurry back to safety.

Rappelling down the side of She Who Walks is a trivial matter. Having disembarked, She Who Walks Through Seasons turns with a rumbling moan and strides back into the jungle, sinking into the trees and disappearing. You are left with the distinct, inexplicable feeling that She Who Walks understood your goal and approved.

Taking a moment to heal you are able to return to Loskialua where the elves immediately set to brewing a cure for the obnubilate curse. Jenthiel kneels down and slowly administers the elixir to Alleli.

Alleli’s wheezing body lies curled and charred on the bed. As the sages’ glowing tincture touches her tongue, however, the change is instantaneous. Shriveled skin swells with new vigor, and gray dust falls away to reveal raw but healthy flesh beneath. The elf lurches upward with a gasp. She looks around in shock, then smiles, and in a shaky voice says, “Hello, everyone. I hope I haven’t kept you waiting.” The room erupts in cheers and happy sobs.

Townspeople you haven’t even met yet hug you, thanking you for yourhelp, and the entire settlement erupts into a spontaneous party, with Oatia shaking your hands, kissing cheeks, and garlanding you with flowers. A feast is quickly pulled together to honor the new heroes of Loskialua.

The alchemist who crafted the elixir approaches you and hands a small satchel. "I used some of the leftover water to brew a few extra potions and elixirs for you."

Nicky gives a standing ovation. He claps and claps at the magnificent theatre of it all!
This elf woman is a thespian after his own heart. She knows how to work a crowd. She is so good, she even lifts him up with a joy filled heart and hands that attempt to clap his approval.

Amazing. Amazing.

She grabs the key as proof of the lifting of the curse.
Bravo! Bravo Alleli. You are the true hero of tonight.

Nicky gives a nod to Onye who risked life and limb and a scalding to get the last component.
This person -right here- is another hero. Onye and his flying companion

Uhu twists his head to the side and silently stares at the tiefling.

"The sacrifice was only what was right," the amurrun says.

Odioki is also charmed by the celebration and relieved that the curse has been lifted.

He can't help but wonder what's next though.

Daehalya smiles as Alleli is revived and the curse is removed from the key, though she remains reserved. She can't help but wonder how many elves died to this who didn't have to.

Cool potions! I like that draft of stellar radiance.

Like Odioki, she too can't help but wonder what's next. They still need to learn what happened to them. Was it some encounter with the Blackfrost Whale? That seems unlikely, but the coincidences also feel too strong ... why would Findeladlara have guided them here if not to learn that?

With the danger of the obnubilate curse past, you have many days to rest, recover, and interact with your new friends. The Oatia hosts are, in turn, eager to learn from your experiences and share their own traditions, even teaching any so inclined their greatest astronomical secrets.

Alleli, for her part, isn’t one to sit on her hands. After several days of research and examining the Shadewither Key from a prudent distance, she finds you to brief you on her discoveries.

“I think I’ve found a way to get you home.” Alleli’s green eyes gleam. “Before you arrived, I was communing with a distant astronomer named Sakuachi—a human from your world. She hails from the same part of Golarion where Osoyo, the Blackfrost Whale, is buried, but there’s more: she told me she was on a quest to seal away an ancient evil that had recently awoken beneath the ice. And now here you are, bearing a key with Osoyo’s mark.”

Alleli closes her eyes and shakes her head ruefully. “We Oatia believe in omens, not coincidences,” she says. “I believe your mission and Sakuachi’s may align.”

She pulls out a bunch of notes lined with arcane equations. “Through means I won’t pretend to understand, Sakuachi attuned her telescope and mine, creating a bond stretching across the space between our planets. At the same time, your Shadewither Key had the power to activate the aiudara that led you here. I believe that if I can link all three—the telescope, the arch, and the key—I can create a one-way portal from our telescope to hers. A doorway back to your world!”

Alleli grins proudly, then frowns. “I should warn you, though: the magic of the aiudara is poorly understood, even here. It’ll be dangerous, and there’s a chance that the feedback could destroy the artifacts. But, stars willing, it might just work.”

Odioki is relieved to hear there's a way back to Golarion, and a grim determination fills his chest when he hears of the ancient evil under the ice.

"Sounds like sending us back is worth the risk. Is there anything we can do to protect the artifacts from the feedback while we travel?"

Alleli shakes her head. "Likely not without years of continued research. Decades even."

"If an ancient evil wakes at the far corners of Creation that Onye Dinta could prevent, then Onye Dinta must try," the amurrun asserts. The shadowy eagle owl glides silently to perch on his shoulder and lets out a haunting oo hoo.

Once you are ready, Alleli and a handful of her fellow sages meet you at the light-line gondola headed out of Loskialua. The sages haul with them a massive deconstructed telescope, "We will set this up at the same ruins where you first emerged." The light-line makes the first portion of their journey relatively easy, and the size and strength of the group scares away predators between the light‑line and the aiudara.

The ruins of this jungle aiudara appear exactly as before. The arch stands atop a crumbling, ten-foot-tall stone platform with stairs leading up from north and south, while lower five-foot-tall platforms bracket the main platform’s corners, tipped by obelisks of darker stone. On the way you find more signs of dragn scat that you noticed upon your first arrival.

Daealyah gives a concerned look at the scat again, and her new friends, hoping they won't have a problem once she and her companions leave. But they have no choice, it sounds like. They need to get home, and make sure they lock away this blackfrost whale for good.

"It was too short a time," she murmurs to Alleli and the others. "Perhaps someday we shall see each other again."

"Yes, let's hope we meet again under better circumstances some day."

Despite the elves hospitality, Odioki hopes his eagerness to return home isn't obvious.

Nicholo hears some rustling and before he can warn the others a deep and low rumble comes from the tree line as he spots a large, thin green drake mere feet away. It's black orbs gleam hungrily at the tiefling elf.

Nicky exclaims as he moves to the cover of the tree and downs one of the newly acquired barkskin potions! He tossed the empty bottle to the ground and pulls out his sword.

The drake's venom splatters the catfolk before he can bring his shield to bear and protect himself. He immediately feels his muscles cramping. Gritting his teeth under the wooden tiger mask that he wears today, he growls and gestures toward the drake.

The dark feathered owl flies around the drake to harass it. Just before the owl reaches the drake, Onye Dinta throws his javelin and then draws another. "A great and dangerous beast!"

Ezgara deeply inhales the poison fumes and finds himself unimpressed. Endless winters of pickled broccoli, cabbage, garlic stew inured me to contaminates of all kinds, drake. Breakfast lunch dinner. Spend years in a scuzzy hovel buried under the snow, fermenting in lonely farts. In such juices, the yeast of wisdom proliferates.

He trots around the platform as he babbles. Then, he pauses to throw some crackling lightning at the drake:

Uhu flies around the drake, trying to harrass it. As the owl does so the dragon's tail whips about, a deadly stinger emerges aimed at Uhu.

Uhu sqwuaks in pain as the large stinger pierces the owls chest, pinning it to a tree where it falls unconscious. In anger Onye tosses a spear, it arcs through the air cutting across the drakes eye.

Ezgara surrounds the drake in violent winds, though it seems the drake is used to flying in such drafts.

Like Ezgara, Daehalya seems unaffected by the poison, even if she's not able to move quickly enough to get out of the cloud. "Uhu!" she calls out as she's spurred into action, closing on the fearsome beast with staff spinning in a blur of motion, hitting the creature as she probes for weak spots!

The drake lunges onto Nicholo as Onye and Nicky's cloak do everything they can to defend the tiefling elf.

I think I have 2 more HP's due to barkskin. Is the tail piercing?
Also, did the dragon appear to at least understand his words when he tried to feint? That is important for what he wants to do.

Nicky was not expecting to be the core subject of the dragon's ire. He certainly doesn't want to continue to be harmed!

Daehalya remains calm and silent, as is her wont, as Nicholo taunts the dragon. Hoping he can draw its attention from her, she gets in position and strikes. As before, the color seems to rush out of her body, leaving her looking like a figure carved from snow and ice, as the staff makes impact.

Onye Dinta climbs over the stone terrace and launches a javelin at the drake. He draws another one from over his shoulder.

Uhu feels the poison course through his veins as Onye's gets worse as well. The Amurrun doesn't let something as minor as poison slow him down as he hurls the javelin into the drakes wing.

Daehalya's limbs elongate as the staff gains far more thrust behind it as it breaks the drake's wing, causing it to go limp.

Nicholo uses this moment to slowly back away as he gets to safety.

Ezgara continues spinning a tale. Crude images of a drooling, slack-jawed Odioki dance around the thaumaturge.

Odioki listened to the wise old elf, the venerable old elf, and slowy began to understand. The fog in his brain cleared. He therefore stopped shooting his blunderbuss haphazardly at clouds and dirt clods. He aimed carefully at the dragon that was trying to kill his friend Ezgara. Yes. To kill his enemies and protect the old sage, he must aim carefully. So that he could live and hear to wise words forever and perhaps through years of apprenticeship donkeywork attain a drop of the elf's ocean-vast, measureless wisdom. Ezgara ratchets himself up with his own tale, hopping up and down, yanking tufts of scraggly grey hair. First, the Erutaki knew he must… old elf screams: …STOP MISSING! STOP IT! SHOOT IT IN THE DAMNED FACE.

Ezgara heals Daehalya's wound as Onye does the same watching Uhu's spirit vanish right before his eyes. Javelin was a miss. Odioki's aim has become worse as Ezgara gave a blessing, or rather a curse.

"That was a very fearsome dragon," she says painfully to the Oatians. "But it won't bother you anymore." She suggests they take a moment to rest and bind their wounds before going through the gate again. She's sure more challenges await, and some inner voice tells her they could be quite deadly.

Under Alleli's direction, the Oatia quickly rig the telescope to the aiudara with enchanted copper wire. They strap the Shadewither Key to the top of the arch with delicate strands of gold appropriated from someone’s necklace. Alleli makes one last adjustment to the telescope, then looks to the characters for the go ahead.
