Heading out of town you make your way into the forest to the last
area where the bandits were spotted along a wagon road. The large trees hang eerily overhead. Little light filters down. The young man follows in the back.
"Uncle says the elf is doing good by stealing the taxes? Should we bother her? She has a lot of men!"
Wisdom checks for the party

Brother Theodor |

Theodor begins to turn on Raff with a few choice words, but stops and gives the man an embarrassed smile.
"Yeah...I cannot abide people treating others in such a fashion...it's why I left the cloister to become a friar!"
He looks a little startled that he said so much and tried to cover his error with bluster!
"Now then, let's not just lolly-gag about! Let's get to it...this bandit will not capture itself!"

Yennifer |

"Now then, let's not just lolly-gag about! Let's get to it...this bandit will not capture itself!"
”We are in agreement on that at least,” the knight said gravely. ”But to do so without a plan would be folly I fear.”

Still thinking about that goat eh?
While looking around the area, Raff notices a set of wagon wheels leading to the village but they stop. On one side of the wagon wheel tracks, Raff she's several sets of "medium"and footprints off to the side.
The young man turns to Raff.
"Yeah but the goat lord is our lord and we must obey him!"

Rafferty "Raff" Evenhand |

Meeeeeeh?, he says holding one hand up horizontally and then rocking it side to side, his expression doubtful. Irrespective... we gave you a whole gold piece. That makes us your EMPLOYERS and so think more about obeying us eh?
He stops to look over the tracks...
If that's the bandit? They sure are sloppy... let's move quietly and off to the side of these tracks and see what it turns up. IF we don't follow them directly like a bunch of rookies, we may even avoid some off the deadfall's and pits they've no doubt prepared.

"Employers...Oh well. I guess I don't have to listen to my mom anymore just you guys! And your right! I did get this gold piece!" He reaches into his pocket, smiles and hold it up as a badge of honor. He kisses it then stuffs it back into his pocket.

Yennifer |

Satisfied that the boy had his priorities straight the knight returned to the business at hand. Disagreeing with Raff, ”Perhaps, it would be best if just secured your inheritance. The more I think on it I am less and less inclined to help this arrogant goat lord.”

Rafferty "Raff" Evenhand |

Great trees come from small seeds, and favour is best sowed as small deeds, he says waving the concerns away. We need coin, and a bandit may well end up robbing us. It's a win win win if we can put this bandit down.

Hail there my good... man, the raffish figure calls to the dwarf, uncertain as to the correct way to address the outlander.
New in town but looking for employment or have you a task that needs to be seen to instead?

Brother Theodor |

Brother Theodor looks over the dwarf and sneers as he sees the pagan talisman displayed so prominently.
I do not think we should have anything to do with this infidel! Begon pagan and take your unholy devil worship with you!"
The Friar holds out his wooden cross and speaks several line from the Holy Book in his hand.

Raff gives the priest a curious and confused look.
Errr... yes? I mean if you can handle a bit Ecclesial back and forth that is. We have a bandit problem and offer equal share in the bounty.
"Don't forget me!" chimes Shadwell. "I was promised a share of the loot as well!"

Thorgar Broodrock |

The Friar holds out his wooden cross and speaks several line from the Holy Book in his hand.
Thorgar looks sidelong at the man with a snarl ”What are ye goin’ on about? Pagan? Ye’re not familiar with the God under the Mountain, the Master of Forges?”
Raff gives the priest a curious and confused look.
Errr... yes? I mean if you can handle a bit Ecclesial back and forth that is. We have a bandit problem and offer equal share in the bounty.
”Bandits ye say? Mebbe some evangelization is in order?” - he grinned - ”And equal shares sounds good enough ta me - what’s tha plan?”

I can see you two are get along like a literal house on fire
He sighs.
It's possible we won't make it out alive, he mutters.
Regathering his thoughts he says We are seeking a bandit Queen, but given local flavour it's more like a bandit deputy manager or bandit clerk.
Its been a while I forget a lot of details :)
We sneak towards where she's at, quietly... quietly as in 'No loud debates' mind you all, then on locating her and her cronies? Well... "punish" is a good a word as any.

Thorgar Broodrock |

"Eh, I'm guessin' it'll be fine?" - Thorgar added, again taking a second look at Brother Theodor.

"I'm hopin' this 'Queen' shares are worth it" - the dwarf grumbled - "But... If ye be wantin' quiet sneakin', maybe I should be hangin' back a tad. Mot much fer skulkin' about, see?" - he patted his leathery armor - "But I can follow ye silent lads from tha back"

Assuming there are no complaints we move into the wood line, off the road and move towards the last reported location of our target.
You head into the woodlands, the trees oak and maple, through thick over your heads. Insects and birds flutter about as you walk. The forest smells of leaves and dirt.
As your trudge along, you all spot 8 figures in the trees, several have long bows drawn with arrows knocked. They're wearing worn leather armor.

"Hello my friends. May the one god and his saints find you hale and healthy on this fine day. I am Brother Theodor, a friar of the Mendicant Order of Saint Keye the Chronicler. My friends and I are simply passing this way and ask humbly for your permission to continue onwards."
"Going where!?" shouts a half elf woman. She drops lower in a tree on a rope. She looks towards the dwarf. "Itching to fight are you outlander dwarf?" She smiles. The rest of the men keep their arrows knocked.

Brother Theodor |

Scowling at the belligerent dwarf, Friar Theodor turns to the bandit queen and smiles.
"We are in search of one of the lost shrines of the saints, blessed be their names! I was given to believe one might be located in the wilds around here...you have not, by chance, stumbled upon such a place have you?"

"It's far to the north Padre. Perhaps you need a guide?" she shouts.
Raff peeks around a tree.
What he said.
The young man whispers to Raff.
"But I thought we were after HER?"

"Errm...Yes. Please excuse my companions...they can be very vexing at times. So, you know where the ruin is? Is it possible you might take us there, or at the very least draw me a map?"
The friar waits to see how the bandits react to the ruse.
"What ruins are you talking about frair? The ruined abbey is far from here?" shouts the woman.
One of the men climbs lower in a tree then points a knocked arrow as before.
