While the others experiment and examine the bag, Zabu approaches the monolith. In much the same way he did with the upside down pyramid, he gets extremely close.

He doesn't touch it, but it looks like he is very tempted to poke or scratch it just to see what will happen.

Raindrop rings the bell. Again, a startlingly loud and clear sound comes from the bell. The monolith shimmers and blurs, much more intensely than before. Once it stops, you see no change to the monolith, but something definitely happened to it.

Aerin opens the pouch. Inside are two potion bottles, both labeled invisibility potion. One has been emptied, and one remains full.

With your two excellent Religion checks, you know that reciting the full poem is part of the purification rite. Reciting the poem won't do anything on its own.

Raindrop's eidolon puts his nose to the ground and sniffs the area. He can confirm that the bag has no lingering scent and that no invisible people are hanging around. Whoever left these here hasn't been around in a long time.

The eyes are still looking at you from up high. They're basically a heavenly body imprinted into the sky.

Atae looks around for invisible people, but can't find any. Either they're really well hidden, or there's no one here but you.

Squash throws his magic dust over the monolith. The dust seems to stick to certain parts of the monolith, revealing a sentence.

Starlight speed the hunter along my trail.
Hidden and sundered and lost in four dreams.

You all instinctively know now that's the complete poem, and how to incorporate it into the ritual. You're going to have to do the ritual four times, once for each monolith.

You have three options to deal with the monoliths:
- You can destroy the monolith to disperse the magic within. This can be done by either damaging it, or by several Athletics checks to topple it.
- You can purify the monoliths by doing the ritual on the scroll. It takes a minute each time and requires an Arcana, Occultism, or Religion check. If you fail, you can't purify this monolith anymore (meaning others have to do it, or you're gonna have to break it).
- You can also absorb the magic of the monolith into yourself. You can do this only once, and you become Drained 1 for the rest of the adventure.

I'd also like to remind you that the Radiant Oath and Verdant Wheel factions have asked you to do something for them. Take this into consideration if you want to score brownie points with these factions.

Manny seems to fumble the ritual slightly, but when he reaches the part where he recites the poem, swirls of magical energy surround him and empower the rite. When the ritual is over, the magic is released and it feels like the ground breathes a sigh of relief. Nothing has changed about the monolith, but in the distance, pieces of the inverted pyramid start to turn with a grinding sound, like a Rubik's Cube, changing configuration, then stops.
The 14 is enough. Knowing (and reciting) the full poem gives a massive bonus. You still have your Hero Point. :)

You stand there, making ready to go to the next monolith, when an old woman’s voice murmurs, “Something itches...”

Massive talons suddenly furrow the earth and a broken amalgam of flesh and teeth pulls itself from the dust, shrieking out despair from a thousand mouths.

Moved some of you to be on the little isle. And sorry, tactics state they spawn immediately next to players when possible!

Red, Green, and Pink immediately start screeching, mumbling, and spewing nonsense. It's very disorienting, hearing dozens of voices rambling all around you at once.

Red immediately starts to bite Atae.

Piercing: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (4, 3) + 5 = 12

It then latches onto Atae, giving her the grossest hickey ever Grab, and bites again with a different mouth.

Piercing: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (4, 7) + 5 = 16

Its mouths have very jagged teeth, tearing open arteries where they connect with flesh. Persistent bleed damage.

Green hears the murmurs of Red, and squints against the onslaught of sound.
Will save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

Its many eyes go wide and it starts spewing spittle around wildly.

Random targets: 3d10 ⇒ (9, 8, 7) = 24

Spittle versus Eidolon: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

Spittle flies around, coating everyone nearby. It's gross, but harmless.

Finally, Pink hears the maddening sound Red and Green are making, and needs to save as well.

Yellow starts yammering in pain, its cacophony adding to Red, Pink, and Green. It then needs to save against their moaning as well.

Oop, Aerin, you're right. I read the Incapacitation trait several times to be sure, and I still messed up. Everyone, if you're level 6 or higher, a fail becomes a success. Sorry for missing that! You can re-do you actions if that applies to you, and you regain spent Hero Points.
