Lope casts detect magic to scan the area and hasten the search. Soon enough he stumbles with the half eaten body in the river. Using a long branch to pull it back to the river side, he reaches for the body and shows the scabbard to the surviving priest "Is this Dradi's scabbard?"

The fall of the snake brought a sigh of relief from Valeria, they had been in a very bad position to fight something like that with their backs again the wall. At least it was over now. Unfortunately, they had little time to think because of the voice that called for help.
Valeria followed the others as they headed towards the cry for help. When she saw the state of the man, she was more than a little worried. There was only so much she could do and if this one had not been bitten by one of those snakes, then she might as well go back to that harem of succubi and let them drain her dry.
Valeria quickly knelt beside the man and cast a spell to try and stabilize him before anything else. With that done she began to ask him what happened as she tried to determine what she could do to treat his injury.
Cast Stabilize on the man.

I should be able to keep ahead of the damage the poison is doing as well but it will require a lot of effort to manage it."

Lope looks at the priest thoughtful as he discovers the rest of the group is as clueless as himself on how to help him "We cannot leave him here to his own luck." he points down to the man "There, grab him, help me move him up the slope, back to the carriage. If we can do nothing, maybe at their temple can."
If the group manages to move him up, Lope will propose for the carriage rider to bring the priest to the his temple while the party finishes the mission at Telus State.

Remington rolls his eyes and tells the man, "This careless woman has wrecked my favourite suite. I was taking her to the watch for your information sir." The sir was said in a way that made it an insult.
The butcher retorted sounding doubtful, "Where you now..." Spurred on by the butcher's words, several on lookers jeered at Remington.
All the while, Remington's grip tightens as he snarled into your ear, "Cut that out wench, you're making a scene! And making me late!"
Before much else could happen the watch arrived and a harried looking lieutenant demanded, "What's all this then?" as he looked at you, Remington and the butcher.
You feel Remington get ready to say something, but perhaps you can put in a word first?
When Lope asked if scabbard belonged to Dradi, the man reached up to look and let out a strangled cry. Something seemed to die inside of him as he sagged back to the ground looking wretched.
Valeria examines the man but she doesn't really know what to make of it, although she's convinced he's going to die.
Lope decides to manhandle the man back up to the carriage which takes everyone's help. At some point perhaps mercifully he lost consciousness, although he's still breathing.
So what's the plan? You gather his temple is in Lothedar.

Please bring him all swift to Jambis. I think that is the closest sizeable settlement where you can find someone able to help him." he takes a hundred coins and gives it to the pilot, then also the scabbard "Here take this, and this scabbard is worth at the least another hundred, in case you have to pay for the help."
| DM Fang Dragon |
The coach driver is a little surprised but replies, "Yes m'lord! Will you be needing me after?"

The watch lieutenant listened to your story and he noted the marks Remington's grip had left on your arms and looking rather cross he confronted the man, "So let me see if I got this straight. There was an accident in which she spilt red wine over you, you got mad but then you noticed she was pretty and tried to lure her somewhere, she resisted and by the looks of it you assaulted her leaving a mark."
Remington tried to interject but the lieutenant cut him off saying, "Remington you're an idiot. The chief came dam close to busting your ass last summer over that other Tian girl, if I have to tell him about this he's going to absolutely flip a lid. Do the smart thing and walk away."
This made Remington bristle with anger but when the other members of the watch closed ranks with their lieutenant, he came to his senses and with a frustrated cry he stormed off realizing he was now very late for his appointment.
The lieutenant spoke to you next saying, "Are you OK? That man is bad news. Look it pains me to say this, but are you able to travel? If so I think it would be for the best if you leave Cassomir for a few months, ideally today. We do what we can on the watch to keep the peace but our resources are stretched and Remington has powerful friends..."
There isn't anything more you can easily do in this situation, but you've held him up for a good fifteen minutes which should be all the time the Night Swan needed.
The driver nods when Diana mentioned the druid, "Aye m'lady I'll take him to her on the double and hope I get there in time."
Before long he's clattering down the lane and the party decide to push on to Jambis and the Telus estate. It takes a half day's hike to get there, the driver having agreed to wait for your return for up to three days on the other side of the broken bridge.
You approach Jambis finding the once prosperous trading town deserted. It's eerie walking down abandoned streets filled with leaning wooden buildings and bleached bones—some animal, some not—gathered in corners like autumn leaves. You notice thick spider webs choking some of the buildings.
Are you going to explore Jambis or push on to the Telus estate?

As she looks around at the remains of Jambis, Diana shudders as she pays closer attention to the webs covering some of the buildings.
"Be on your guard - I don't think the streets are safe for us. See those webs over there? Those can't have been made by a normal spider - they're too big and strong for that. It'd have to be the size of a large dog, at least."

Valeria was certain the man would die if he didn't get help soon and that the chances of him making it to help even with the carriage were poor. Before the carriage left Valeria took the time to cast a spell twice on the dying man in hopes it would buy him time to get to help.

You decide to bypass Jambis and head directly for the Telus Estate. Set at the head of a valley a short way out of town, it's a fortress of sturdy stone, albeit with crumbling white plaster. The once-sturdy wooden doors now lie on the overgrown lawn, half-rotted, while a tree has collapsed into the eastern bastion, partially caving in the wall.
As you walk up the weed choked path to the main entrance, you pass the weather beaten doors on what was once a fine lawn giving you a view of the chamber inside. There's a scattering of dead leaves covering most of the floor, though much of the furniture has held up well, if a little faded and mildewed. Wooden doors stand in the east and west walls. To the north, a massive oaken double door has been locked, chained, and barred from this side as if to lock something in.

The woman quickly scanned the paper and one eyebrow rose, "Voignum? Twenty five thousand, that's rather a large sum of money... Yes this can be done. And who is this? One Lord Betony has a loan for five thousand? I don't know them."
Remington shrugged, "The new lordling of Stachies, they came out of leftfield, nobody had ever heard of them before. Doubt he'll be any trouble, foolish boy's developed a habit of putting his nose where it's not welcome."
"I'm sure we can put a stop to that. Alright. And who are these others?" she replied.
Remington nodded, "Tax evaders for the most part. Small fry, they won't give you any trouble. Can I take it you agree? He will be most pleased if so."
She responded, "Yes. Standard terms and conditions. Half now, half on delivery within the next six weeks. You can make a deposit in the Banking house of Valint and Baulk under the name of Aiztercul Enahtram, goddess I'm going to be busy."
Looking relieved Remington nodded and walked off. You watched him go and when you looked back the woman was gone, only for her to appear next to you some minutes later.
She said softly, "Well done. I learned quite a lot from that, Sir Guisarne it seems wants to silence a group of merchants who are complaining quite rightfully about his tax collecting thugs. In addition he wants to do away with Baroness Voignum and this new Lord Bentony of Stachies. Now that has got to be political, Voignum has made no secret of her allegiance to Eutropia but house Lotheed leans towards the High Strategos. I can only assume this Lord Bentony must too."
"Hmm what to do. Can't say I'm a fan of the nobility, I'd normally watch their infighting with amusement from the sidelines but something about this rubs me up the wrong way. I can handle most of this, but I could do with some assistance. Molly needs to know, as does this Lord Bentony. Do you think you can do that?"

Hoping to make the Spider Prince visible to everyone so they can all try to stop him, Diana conjures a cloud of tiny golden particles around the monstrous man, and then draws her crossbow.
Glitterdust , Will save DC 17 or be blinded for 5 rounds. New save allowed at the end of each of the target's turn.

As she loads her crossbow, Valeria pinpoints the baron, he's high up in the webs towards the back. You can post a standard action if you like.
Lope's ball of fire rolled over the spiders, roasting dozens upon dozens of them which burned up in little puffs of smoke.
Spider swarm Reflex DC 16: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 <--- FAIL
Triphylla threw a vial of acid into the now smoldering swarm of spiders, chemically burning some of them.
Like Valeria, Diana also spotted the baron's hideous deformed body and with a word of power she summoned around him a billowing cloud of sticky yellow glitter!

Blinded, Telus roared in rage and he uttered a spell which made lightings crawl around his hands, which sent crazy shadows dancing among the webs!
Fort DC 15 vs vermin repellent: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 <--- FAIL
The spider swarm recoiled from the stench of the vermin repellent Triphylla had drenched herself in and they turned towards Valeria but didn't quite make it to her.

"I'm going to try and force him to come down with some flames, so you can close in with him and stop him from casting more spells! But watch out for that lightning around his hand! I don't know for how much longer he'll stay blinded."
Diana waves her hands and a magical fire seems to spring around the webs from which the Baron is hanging, the flames licking at his hands. She then puts some more distance between herself and the advancing swarm.
Casting Major Image, which can include sound, smell and thermal effects - trying to convince the Baron that the webs are indeed on fire and forcing him to the ground. Will Save DC 18 to disbelieve.
| Triphylla Achlys |
With the spider swarm advancing now to Valeria, Triphylla has to decide if she's going to fight the spell or fight the monster casting the spell.
She moves ahead, drawing a Ghast Retch Flask from her bandolier and lobbing it toward the mutated Baron.

Harvested and concentrated from the remains of slain ghasts, this foul-smelling powder is kept in tightly sealed flasks. It is thrown as a splash weapon and the flask breaks on impact, releasing noxious dust. The target is nauseated for 1 round and sickened for 3 rounds after that. A successful DC 12 Fortitude save prevents the nauseated condition, but not the sickened condition. Creatures within 5 feet of where the flask hits are sickened for 1 round. This is a poison effect. Crafting this item is a DC 20 Craft (alchemy) check.

She allowed you to speak and when you traced Nocticula's symbol and mentioned the Lady of the Midnight Isles she replied softly, "Ah, that explains a few things although for every question answered several more suggest themselves. I take it you are here, well in Meratt County anyway on her behalf? A remarkable thing that..."
She listens to your words before replying huskily, "Depends which Lotheed male you had in mind... Don't get me wrong, all of them are reprehensible and I'd dearly love to see that condescending smirk ripped off Bartleby's ugly face and to watch his pet viper Guisarne do the hanged man's dance! But fair warning if you're after his absentee grandfather, count me out. Panivar Lotheed is possibly the most frightening individual I've ever had the displeasure to meet and I was once groped by that madman Grand Prince Stavian."

Valeria's first bolt missed by several yards but her second one looked like it was going to miss too, but the baron lurched suddenly and the bolt hit him in the chest!
With a mental command, Lope sent his flaming sphere chasing after the spiders. They scattered away from it and swarmed Valeria, biting and scratching. She managed to keep her cool, just about but the feeling of them crawling all over was the stuff of nightmares.

With pinpoint accuracy, Triphylla lobs a vial of ghoul wretch which hits the blinded baron in the face. The stench of this was indescribable even from thirty feet away. It was frankly amazing the baron didn't puke his guts up, but he did look decidedly unwell.
