The wizard breaks out in a cold sweat as he realises what they are facing with his magical abilities being erratic at best.
"Hellcats! These fiery beasts from hell are dangerous predators who can maul us with their claws. They are resistant to fire and magic as well."
"I will help if I can but from a distance. Without my magic I am like a librarian with a stick!"
With two small ioun stones in hand the wizard performs a Retrograde Maneuver. Other people would call it a retreat!
Double move (60 feet away from the party)
Xilt's AC remains at 12 and his CMD remains unchanged at 16.

Tzleztor |

Tzleztor stays with his Xilt for now. He flies as the wizard moves away guarding his master.
The mephit calls out to his cousin.
"Help out but try not to get hurt. Ok?"
Tzleztor AC will be 23 if his magical shield is not working. His CMD remains unchanged at 18.

Five round in the past
As Tzleztor summons his cousin Frantz in a puff a smoke his eyes light up with excitement. The blue tinged mephit nods to his family relation.
"Nice to see you cuz. It looks like you must be in a real fix. All this time away from home and you never call. Until now..."
Tzleztor: "And how. I will fill you in real quick. We are stuck with two flying baddies and the master's magic is not working. In fact no magic is working properly so watch yourself."
Present time
Frantz takes a position with the party awaiting these strange flying cats.
Frantz is a bog standard salt mephit with an AC of 17 and a CMD of 15.

Seeing how fast these flying cats are coming, Chaine says, "Don't bother, Tiber, we won't have time to strap this armor in. Give me my shield!"
He then jumps on his horse but delays, lance at the ready, to see if the cats will take Setare's bait... how in the Nine Hells are these cats flying?!
AC 15 without full plate and with no magic on the shield! lol!

Setare moves swiftly into a martial arts stance that is vaguely crane-like while Chaine leaps onto Silvermane, lance ready to strike! In the distance, the flaming hellcats land and continue racing toward the campsite!
The Hellcats do a run action and make it 160 feet closer.
Chaine's dialogue made me double-check, and for the life of me I don't know why I thought these hellcats had a fly speed. That's embarassing! Fortunately, it doesn't affect anything. We'll explain it as another temporary bizarre fluctuation of magic in the Mana Wastes :)

Ahh, I really misread the map. I thought they are much nearer. :-) I will just roll all those again in the round when they are arriving. Same action again.

Tzleztor rubs his eyes as the fiery felines lands. He could swear that they were flying before.
"Guys don't you have bows or something?"
The little mephit would need a miracle to hit these creatures with his tiny arrows at this range even with magical aid.

@Chaine - Sorry to be a party pooper but Xilt and Tzleztor are already 25 feet off the map so the defensive bonuses for Last Wall Phalanx will drop to +2 AC/Saves are they are not adjacent to Chaine and Monkey Boy.
"Alright if you say so."
The mephit replies. He stands on guard watching his master with little to do at the moment.

With no magic there is little for Xilt to do as well. He stands fast for now hoping that his mystical fortune will reverse.

Monkey Boy takes a look at the two shuriken he's carried his entire career. At this point, they're more like souvenirs than weapons...
Boldly stepping from Stealth move action to better use his Bodyguarding skills, if required, Monkey Boy holds a place by Chaine. He takes up a crouch, ready to spring to Setare's aid.
Move then ready to move next to Setare if she is attacked in melee. That will hopefully allow my Bodyguard skills to be used to their greatest advantage.

Xilt hopes for the best and advances next to Chaine. He motions for Tzleztor to get into the fight. He puts his hand into a handy pocket and drops the two ioun stones inside.
Maybe next round will be the charm. Otherwise Xilt will make a run for it.
I think that putting a hand into a pocket would be at most a move action and dropping objects is a free action so this should be fine.

Tzleztor takes to the air trying to stay above the cats when they do arrive. He has his tiny bow in hand hoping that he will be able to help out even if the magic does not return.
Tzleztor is 25 feet off the ground. It is so much better when Hell Cats do not know how to fly. :)
I have to buy this little guy a better bow. It was supposed to be a fun backup weapon but he seems to use it a lot. :)

Tzleztor hears Xilt belt out:

The mephit laughs as he is always accused of being the theatrical one.
"Melodramatic much? Alright boss we are on it."
Tzleztor whizzes right over the heads of Setare and Monkey Boy. The little guy then dumps a bucket load of magical salt on hellcat (green).

Xilt literally rubs his hands together with glee. If he were a small child on his birthday surrounded by presents he could not be more excited. The wizard smiles broadly reviewing the plethora of options available to him and decides that dropping one of the cats (green) in a nice vat of acid would be just the thing.
Xilt then chooses the course of prudence and moves away from the cats less his magic fail him in the near future.
Acid Pit (Fleeting) @ CL10, Arcane point to boost DC by 2.
Reflex save DC 25 (SR NO) or fall into the 50 feet pit filled with acid. The DC to climb out of the pit is 30.
Falling damage: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 3, 1, 1) = 12
Acid damage: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3
Yucky damage! I love this fleeting meta magic. No more worries about collateral PC damage (or death) by these types of control spells. :)
Xilt is again off the map. :)

Tzletzor's rain of sparkles clings to one of the hellcats, but it can still see well enough to leap out of the way of Xilt's conjured pit! The other hellcat is similarly illuminated by Frantz.
Green is lucky, and makes the saves vs both the glitterdust and the acid pit. Blue makes the save vs glitterdust.
As Setare has readied an action and Chaine has delayed, Monkey Boy is up.
Green Will vs Glitterdust: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Reflex save vs acid pit: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
