"I am not sure where you hail from good Rozi but certain areas are less welcoming of strangers. Alya is just exercising caution so we don't walk into a hostile situation uninformed. Plus I think she just wants to hide and be away from us; we make her look less regal."

"I spotted have campfires around the town and troops with dogs on watch at them, could not tell if they were guarding or laying siege to the town."

She indicates to Freedom to lower her voice with her hand.

"Right now the rain and wind are masking our sent and sound from the dogs, but trust me getting close and the dogs will hear you. They did me, so I think we need better plan then more sneaking about"

"Troubling news. Excellent approach by the way; one can't account for everything like guard dogs smelling us. Approaching openly is likely to be easier than sneaking in, with guard dogs about, but it definitely announces our presence in what appears to be an uncertain situation. My instincts tell me the campfires surrounding the town is not a good sign."

"With one of us who can't sneak and me being unable to see in the dark, I'm not sure sneaking in is an option. And a botched attempt to do so would surely be taken in a poor light by whomever is here."

Alya mounts up, using magic again she cleans herself and her mount until she looks like she has just come off a parade.

"Well let's go say hello, feel free to dispose yourself around me as you see fit."

Then she gee's her mount towards the closest fire.

As she gets close, calls out in her most noble officer's voice.

"You there!! YES, YOU!

She pulls up next to the fire glaring down from her mount.

"Tell me right now what the blazes are going on here. Why are there guard points around the town?, come on it's raining like the bloody hells out here and I want to be in a safe dry bed tonight."

There is not a minute to try to change their attitudes with intimidate before combat starts, so I'm going to interpret that intimidate roll as trying to demoralize. Opponents are shaken for three rounds.

I still need most of you to fill out the first page of maps; I'm pausing the game until you do so, so that I can easily roll initiative.

As soon as Alya got close she could see this was not going to work as the shout went up. But 'Intruders!' were these men defenders of the town? She only had moments. A Horse make a big target, so she needed to dismount but not here.

She wheels her mount around and charged back the way she came.

Ride skill 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 Horse move is 50' double move 100' back the way she came, so she is off the map. She will dismount there next round.
