Atia, I think there was some discussion earlier about which of us has that ring. I am fine with you having it at the moment. Currently I am getting a bit of a boost to swim skill due to Spirit Bonus. And your STR is quite a bit worse than mine.

Mateo: Not sure if this damage roll is including the +2 Champion spirit boost or not.

Same with parries.

Spirit Boost is easy to forget, so I am trying to be more active in checking when it isn't certain.

Did the spellcaster healers use their last healing spell slots to heal people up before going to bed last night? Is it too late to chronomancy that if not?

I didn't include Champion on my damage rolls, either.

I don't think that will matter for this fight.

Yeah, I just remembered that even without healing, we heal 1 hp/level over a night's rest.

Joran should be at 34/35 hp's instead of 31. Will get that fixed.

None up here in the neck of the woods I live in. Would love to go to one, but I might find it too peoplely. :)

Omg it was waaaaaaay too peoplely. Took an hour longer than planned just to get in. Ticket line was forever long. Food line was forever long. We watched one show, browsed the shops, and left before we had to wait in line for that too, lol. It's cool though, caught up with a friend I haven't seen in a decade.

When I used to go with a bunch of gaming friends, we would catch whatever shows we happened to be close to, but we spent the time playing with the cast and any other patrons willing to.

We made our own shows and just enjoyed being goofy together.

But, yes, it is WAY peoplely.

"Peoplely" I love that word. :)

Are people or other creatures that are underwater able to hear things said or shouted above the water?

If it's really loud, in a muffled way perhaps.

Peoplely is a word that my wife and I coined due to my high social anxiety caused by PTSD.

I cannot be in big crowds whatsoever, and shopping is hell personified for me, but I try to help her with it.

It gets worse when people are actively behind me or crowding me.

Which is why I say I would love to attend one, but I know I cannot. :(

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Good word. I'm not a big fan of crowds myself. They're just too overwhelming. Too much. But for me, it's simply a personal thing more so than anxiety issues.

You know, Mateo jumping in the water by himself and sinking to the floor, brings back memories of a certain "Oaf" who walks out of the woods and starts talking trash to about a dozen bad guys or so, and over half of them with bows. I don't know why. ;)

I'm sure KingHotTrash knows the optimal tactics. But just because it is optimal doesn't mean that it is fun.

KHT probably is remembering fighting Goblin Dogs in the main doorway of Citadel Alterain where we had that exact setup - and half of the 8-person party was sitting around bored because they couldn't get in on the action.

For sure this. People being stuck is no fun. That and it creates a ton of potential for flanks from people swimming or standing up above to help counter the penalty for fighting in the water. Add in the fact that that they have low to-hits and the seaweed grants him so cover and boom, they have to roll natural twenties to hit him or 19-20 if they flank him.

Is it a gamble? Absolutely. Could it be a really fun gamble? Mmhmm! Will he get scolded if things go bad? Certainly <3

Hmm... Spellcaster with mostly healing spells prepared. But no one needs healing yet.

Water Lung hex might be useful shortly. Though people underwater aren't in need of it yet.

Can throw cards if any of the enemies are on the surface of the water.

Those are my suggestions based on looking at the character sheet.

I didn't realize all of them were underwater. Totally missed that. My bad.

Assuming that both hit... If Atia does 1 point of damage with a crossbow and Des does 2 points of damage with a crossbow and Lanni adds +2 to both of them, that makes 7 points of damage total. :)

Male Gnome Animist 5 | HP 53 | AC 22 | Fort +10; Ref +8; Will +13 | Perception +11 low-light vision | Speed 25 |

So: Lanni using Mateo's crossbow...

I see two options.

One is the Inappropriate Size weapon penalty - taking a -2 penalty to attack rolls and it continues being a light crossbow and taking a move action to reload.

The other is to treat it like a heavy crossbow for a small character - Making it take a full round action to reload, but having no penalty on the attack.

Fern, any preference on which to do?

Your choice. Skipping a whole round to reload is not fun, but neither is missing =)

Male Gnome Animist 5 | HP 53 | AC 22 | Fort +10; Ref +8; Will +13 | Perception +11 low-light vision | Speed 25 |

Emotion effects are mental effects. Morale bonuses are emotion based, but not the only emotion effects. Intimidate and Fear are also emotion effects.

WITHOUT LOOKING THE GRAB/GRAPPLE rules up . . .. After initiating a Grapple (Grab makes that a free action), the grappling creature has several things that can be done as a grapple-based action. Pin, maintain, and hurt are the most common. I BELIEVE the intent is that big squid can bite instead of choosing a more traditional follow-up grapple option.

Now, looking the rules up, I get:

". . . If you do not release the grapple, you must continue to make a check each round, as a standard action, to maintain the hold. If your target does not break the grapple, you get a +5 circumstance bonus on grapple checks made against the same target in subsequent rounds. Once you are grappling an opponent, a successful check allows you to continue grappling the foe, and also allows you to perform one of the following actions (as part of the standard action spent to maintain the grapple)."

(The list has details for each option, but Move, Damage, Pin, & Tie Up [only applies once Pinned])

So, we learn 2 things. 1) The default action after entering a Grapple appears to be Damage. 2) The Bite is an additional option added to the existing list for this creature.

Since the list of options only apply for Grapple checks AFTER a Grapple has been initiated, the option to bite isn't free with the initial Grab. But the odds the thing will fail the next Grapple check are pretty low, so it is almost free the next round.

I think the spell Message got changed rather drastically between PF1 and PF2. I just went and read the description of the spell in PF1 rules and it is way different than what I was expecting.

It probably would work for communicating and coordinating between various groups of people in a split party. I'm not sure you could communicate normally to someone standing next to you while the spell is active though (unless they were also a target of the spell initially).
