"How long ago did she leave?"
"I think around two hours." says the farmer as you make up your mind if you want to fulfill his request.
As you decided to have a look, you head towards the farm. It is very close by Ganary Road so you don't have to detour much.
After 15 minutes you arrive at the place
A large barn, a farmhouse, and several outbuildings come into view. The simple wooden fence around this farm has been badly burned. In the field, between a barn and a large shed, lie the charred remains of two hogs and a horse.
In front of the barn you spot a small pack of four wolves accompanied with a oddly looking burning creature. Image in slides
At the first site of you, the firey creature turns towards you and the fight starts!

So what's the deal with the fences? Can we ignore them? Can we fight across them? Can we move freely through them? Are they impenetrable walls?
Mary watches the wolfpack approach with the flaming wolf at the head. "So that's one mystery solved, I suppose." Wasting no more of her breath on talk and seeing that her friend Bonnie is in danger, Mary leaps into the fray. She quickly moves to flank the flaming creature before striking at it twice with her rapier.

Also, Mary can flank the wolf with Arity, but not so much with the other two wolves, he he. The fence is difficult terrain to cross, but can one attack through it? "A snack sounds lovely, but we are in somewhat of a hurry. By any chance, have you seen a centaur courier around?"
Marysiel |
Mary eyes the fleeing wolves. Fast as she is, she calculates that she could catch them on foot but would be too winded when she got to them to do much more. They were also a little too far out of her shortbow's range for an effective shot. She decides to let them go.
Updated the loot sheet.
Mary pockets the healing potion and the gold. "Maybe this little detour was worth it after all."
She lets Bonnie do the talking. "A snack does sound lovely; a drink wouldn't go astray either, but she's right, we don't have time for niceties today."
Instead, with Albrecht 's help, she gets to work patching up her injured friends and bringing them back to full health.

"Ow, ow ow." Arity says from the ground. Stuck between the concept of staying on the filthy ground, or getting up and hurting even more, she just manages a "Oh, I do wish that brute of a wolf had at least had the decency to knock me down onto a feinting couch."

Laviania listens and say "No I haven't seen centaur courier lately"
She looks a bit worried "Maybe they also bumped into wolves?"
Since you declined the offer of hospitality you are quickly back on your way. When the heroes have traveled another few hours up the Granary Road, approaching where it meets the main road to Absalom, you notice a large stone.
A statue of a centaur stands in the road, an angry look on her face. Much of the centaur’s haunches and flank have crumbled away. Thick brambles line the road on either side, with a small gap to the southeast.
Map is up what would you do?
Marysiel |
Mary's mood darkens when she sees the centaur statue in the middle of the road. "Looks like it's way too late to help Narala. Based on the condition of the remains, it looks like she was petrified some time ago." Mary then examines the statue to see if it is still carrying the parcels that the courier was supposed to be delivering. "Waste not, want not"
She then looks about them. "Stay on your toes. Whatever or whoever did this to Narala could very well still be in the area. I'd really hate to add our own fossilized remains to this impromptu art exhibition."
Flory Buntzer |

GM Farol |
The heroes get ready, Bonnie casts a shield and enters the stance. Mary observes the statue looking for a parcel, but from there she can't see one. She also advices being cautious.
Arity and Flory exchange pleasantries and comment on the state of their clothing, while also getting moderately ready.
a: 2d20 ⇒ (7, 4) = 11
Mylos and Albrecht try to figure it out. They do know that some spells can change living creature into statue, like Flesh to stone but that would mean something being able to cast high-level spell. Alternatively, there could be creatures being able to change creatures into stone, but nothing specific now.
Albrecht is almost certain that he notices something suspicious on the ground next to the statue. That comes from THat's Odd
As you wait there nothing happens.
Feel free to move on the map ;)
Marysiel |
Mary approaches the statue. "Based on the look on her face, she was not entirely taken by surprise. My guess is that she saw her attacker before they struck and wasn't happy about it."
Not seeing any parcels on or near Narala, Mary carefully and quietly looks around in the adjacent brush for anything that might indicate how the courier ended up the way she did.
Albrecht Jaeger |
"What's that on the ground by the statue?" Albrecht moves to the statue to take a closer look.
GM Farol |
You move closer and begin to look at the statue ... either this is her, or some amazing sculpture decided to dump their sculpture on this road.
As Albrecht points out to the track, you hear a low growl, to your left you can spot a giant lizard, 13 feet long from head to tail and weighs roughly 300 pounds. It moves towards you. A bit to the south of it you can spot a rather large snake. This is a fight with that lizzard, snake is added to balance the fight since there is 6 of you.
