Kyrie's Will (M): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23
The sweet scent in the air makes Humble and Kyrie feel nauseous as well.
Suddenly, a long, sinuous trunk rises up from underneath the fallen leaves and debris around the well. A bright red and orange flower at the top of the stalk spreads open like a colorful cobra's hood. The vine itself has a mouth-like orifice. Half a dozen smaller vines extend from the larger mass, each of them with a mouth-like orifice.

As you exit the hall into the large sand arena, Humble notices and can easily point out to his companions the tracks of a large beast that passed across the arena. Kioko can determine that the tracks belong to a quadrupedal beast and that they go from the room with the statue (and the broken wall) into the room with the fetid pool.

It is a relatively short hike to the closest Stone Market. Here you find a collection of unremarkable stone huts. Each is perfectly identical to the other and clearly created by magic. A few enforcers in red and gold patrol the eerily quiet market. The only sound is the grinding of dirt under your feet and the sea birds flying overhead.
You can see the light of a window inside the huts, though there are no windows on the outside.

Ingdani, this is a rather morose marketplace. I expected to hear the sounds of coins clinking and profit. Is there anything we should be aware of?

Tsurakkaro "Rakka" Obuzu |
Rakka counts his remaining arrows, then sizes up the huts, wondering if any of them sell ammunition.
GM Blake |
"It is not the typical market," Ingdani says with a kind smile. "Inside each hut, you will find a magical window. Awaiting there is a merchant who will take your orders and search the Neverending Market in Goka, take your payment, and make the exchange. You did have the advantage of being closest to this Stone Market, so nobody else has arrived, and though the merchant is just on the other side of the magical window, Goka is on the opposite side of Tian Xa. It will likely be an hour or two before the city wakes up enough to be heard through the windows. I assure you, there is nothing untoward here. Your only danger is being challenged by another team, should you run into one at a market."
Profit Humble Measure |
Humble is disappointed. Competent merchants should be to the market early, eager to make coin. Were I to have a magical window I would be available at my customers' time.
He suggests they peruse the market too try and learn a little, then Northwest along the coast, per Rakka's plan.
