Mara shouts in pain and tries to cover behind the table a little bit while she sends her elementals after the only visible foe. Just as one of them arrives in position, she croaks from deep in her throat and a massive, nasty frog appears right next to the red-scaled serpent folk and tries to chomp him, glowing with energy!

With the sudden appearance of the serpent-creature and its attack upon Mara, Zen quickly releases his shield and fires his new repeating heavy crossbow at the serpent-creature but the bolt hits the intervening table. Zen then calls out to Karita, Karita with me so I can help to protect you." as he cocks the device to prepare for his next shot.

OCC: Note I am assuming an 8 misses the target. However if we knew what the target AC we could write that into our posts much easier.

Round 1:
Mara & Zen’Zot: 22/21
Serpents: 14/13
**Uwe/Karita: 10/6**

The attacks levied towards the red scaled serpent both miss their target. The tough hide of the enemy is too much for the frog to chomp through. The red scaled serpent then looks around, and sees he is highly outnumbered. He refused to show any sign of weakness or trepidation in the face of such odds.

The lizard drops its short bow, and draws a scimitar as he takes a slash at the frog.

scimitar on frog: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22

The other voice just starts to laugh as the lizard gets a deep gash along its head and shoulder area. Moments later she appears, hovering towards the top of the tower, about 40’ up in the air. She points a finger at Karita as she feels her mind and eyes start to cloud over.

Karita thinks for a moment and she recalls a lot of information about serpentfolk. To the serpentfolk, the pursuit of knowledge and magic is the highest goal. Their legends speak of how humanity rose to power only through the theft of serpent magic, a legend that may form the basis of the hatred toward humanity most serpentfolk harbor. They view themselves as the undisputed masters of magic, be it arcane or divine. Yet despite this, the majority of serpentfolk today are degenerates who have devolved to the point of primeval savagery and have lost much of their magical legacy—more civilized serpentfolk generally regard these degenerates with shame and disdain. They have the innate ability to resist magic (SR 15+), immunity to mind-affecting spells/effects, poison, paralysis.

Serpentfolk are 6 feet tall and weigh 120 pounds. Degenerates are only 5 feet tall but weigh 200 pounds. All serpentfolk are quite long-lived, and generally live to the age of 500.

Sorry for my slowness!

Mara summons a new monster to try to help with the spellcaster. There is a slight swirl of aether but then it turns invisible. She makes a request.

Auran:

"Hello Viktor. Please grab that spellcaster and make her life hard."

Flavorful summoning of an aether elemental. It then tries a ranged grapple.

Ranged grapple with flagbearer: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

She then orders the earth elemental to move in while the magma elemental waits for an opening in the crowded area. The frog tries again to chomp.

Frog bite with flanking and flagbearer: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 19
Dam: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Grapple if the bite hits: 1d20 + 9 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 9 + 2 + 1 = 24

Earth elemental bonk with flanking: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 30
Dam: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Earth elemental bonk without flanking: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 28
Dam: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

So if a 19 hits the grounded guy, we're looking at grapple and 5, 13, and 9 damage.

The aether elemental isn’t able to grab ahold of the tricky caster as she float/sidesteps the aggressive foe. While on the ground the frog barely misses the red scaled serpent. The earth elementals are more than capable of bashing upon their intended target however. The serpent hunter takes a pair of bashed to the chest. It refuses to even show pain as it takes a pair of hacks and a bite at the earth elemental in front of it. If it drops it then takes a slash at the green elemental.

scimitar attack 1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 251d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

scimitar attack 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 201d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 201d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

While the hunter starts to whittle away at the mass of enemies around him, the sorcerer glares at Mara with pure annoyance. She floats backwards a bit and then casts a spell. Within seconds, 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 images of herself are flickering around her in concert.

The aether tries to wrap its wispy body around the adversary but the caster winks out of existence as another mirror image is popped.

real on 1: 1d4 ⇒ 3

The caster then floats back five feet and levels its wand at Mara once more as a glove of force smacks her in the chest.

Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Damage marked.

Mara groans as she's hit again. "Oh boy... This is not very fun..."

Just under half health.

Karita fires a ray up at the spellcaster but the ray of enfeeblement flies wide.

I'm about done for this fight. I can't reach this thing with my last blasting spell and it's not on the ground for a create pit spell.

Uwe calls upon his inner power to throw some acide up at the flying creature.

I am guessing its in melee, but I am below it and shouldn't have cover. If not the penalty will need to be added in. If he is more then 40 ft up, I miss.

Acid Splash Touch Attack-Melee: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 7 - 4 = 12

Acid Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2

Uwe uses a basic cantrip, acid splash…and actually manages to hit the real serpent caster.

Round 5

Serpents: 13 (Caster -2)
Uwe/Karita: 10/6

Haha. I think that acid splash was intended to break an image, not deal damage.

Mara points up at the spellcaster. The frog climbs onto the nearby table and leaps as high as it can, trying to reach her with its incredibly long, sticky tongue! The haste spell helps the frog jump higher than normal (by increasing its land speed).

Acrobatics to jump: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (2) + 25 = 27
Tongue touch attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Bummer on the jump check. My math is that is a 6 ft vertical jump. The frog starts on top of the desk (roughly 5 ft) and is a medium creature (another 5 ft) so that it's 15 ft reach lets it reach from 10 to 25 ft up. The jump adds another 6 ft so if the caster is as low as 31 ft, the frog can reach with that touch attack. But even if she is low enough, that's gotta miss. Maybe she's low enough and its within 4 of her touch ac to pop an image?

Mara tries to blast the caster with an acid splash of her own.

Touch attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 Don't forget flagbearer adds +1/+1 to ray spells, PCs!
Dam: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

The aether elementals keep trying to grapple the caster.

Grapple 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Grapple 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

The frog mightily jumps off a table as it’s commanded. The tongue is able to reach just close enough to pop an image of the caster. There is a lone mirror image left.
