I think the enemy drops immediately asleep to the ground on Toral’s turn.

Grand Lodge

I looked for this in the hex. Slumber says they are asleep and thus helpless. I looked at the condition. Neither 'sleep' or 'helpless' state they fall prone. I think it is totally accurate to assume they end up prone and drop their weapon. But people can fall asleep standing up, they can hold objects while asleep. I would love to learn if there is an 'asleep' condition that explains all these things. I, however, looking at the spell, sleep, only see that it imposes the 'helpless' condition. To your point though, previously in this fight I had Blue fall immediately and drop his weapon. I figured he was holding the woman's dead weight and that dragged him down and knocked his weapon out of his hand as he fell. This is society play and we must stay to the rules, so if I am missing a rule somewhere, please enlighten me in the discussion. Also, unconscious does not impose the prone condition or make you drop your weapon, but I would rule it happens as soon as you gain it.

The Red guard's head slumps forward and he seems to be slowly moving towards the ground.

Grand Lodge

I stand corrected, or rather fall as corrected. Red being asleep is the same as being unconscious, and apparently falling prone is a common sense conclusion. If they are the same they should happen the same.

Red Crumples to the floor asleep.

Fox manages to bite just the right spot to kill the guard. He is dead before he hits the ground.

Combat over! I will explain about the far room in my next post. More to come soon.

As the fighting ends with the last man falling to the ground, fox spits out blood from its kills, as best it can. Mouth empty, but its snout still shows blood traces.

It walks towards the woman who was stabbed in the neck earlier.

Perception, is she still breathing?: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

Stabilize if useful/ press closed a wound: 1d20 ⇒ 18

Philthy stops to catch his breath as the last foe drops. He draws his wand and touches himself, seemingly relishing the slow knitting of his wounds. He wipes his axe clean on the fallen leader and keeps an eye on the Fox.

[Feral Speech]"She alive?"

Infernal Healing, and one on Bully too - would have had 6 damage on the familiar

Fox looks for signs of life in the woman, but does not see any. The woman was already in terrible shape, probably starving and her original wounds never really healed. Fox estimates she was probably just given enough water to keep her alive.

Toral and others look into the chamber beyond for the first time. They see a large room, bisected by a pit filled with burning coals. There are remnants of 4 burnt bodies at the bottom, some ten feet down. On the far side of the room is an altar, on top of which rests a scepter made of pure silver. At its tip is a large emerald. The alter bears the writing:

Ancient Osiriani:

Iltorian. "For Iltorian, the blessed second who taught me faith in the gods, but reliance only in oneself."

There looks to be a pile of gear lumped against the west wall, an empty bedroll with blood stains is just beside it.

Each of the three guards wears a breastplate and has a heavy steel shield, scimitar and (2) daggers.
Alarka wears a chain shirt and has a heavy steel shield and a scimitar.

With a quick detect magic the guards' breastplates glow

DC18 spellcraft breastplates:
They are +1 breastplates.

Alarka's scimitar glows
DC18 spellcraft scimitar:
It is a +1 Scimitar.

Alarka's chain shirt also glows.

You estimate that the gear and camels they leave to you would bring somewhere around 2965 gold.

As you search the gear by the wall, in a bag you find a trio of scrolls.

dc22 spellcraft scroll:

three scrolls of sending

What would you like to do?

Missed the Scimitar, people can open other spoilers

"Unfortunate, but there is no bargaining with these people. I wonder if the burnt bodies at the bottom of the ditch thought negotiation was an option" Philthy shrugs as his wounds continue to heal.

"Maybe a short message to our tasking Venture Captain like 'Original expedition slain, their assailants now dead, proceeding with clearing the ruins', that work?"

Anyone have Ancient Osiriani or a really good Linguistics?

Also, that is the daily casts of Haste and Fireball, and as we are no longer on a timer perhaps resting up for the night might be prudent

After wiping the blood off her weapons and inspecting the next room, Laiashi sighs heavily. ”Well there’s one half of our mission complete, I guess. So we just have to do the other half— finish theirs.”

Can’t help with those skills, unfortunately.

Reminder, back in the original room.
The SE altar is made of iron and lined with silver coated grooves. The top center has a square hole. An inscription decorates the front.

Ancient Osiriani::

"Kiranna"
"For Kiranna, my right hand, my fifth, the one who brought order."

The NE altar is black stone with a triangular hole. It too has an inscription on its front.

Ancient Osiriani::

"Osomi"
"For my beloved Osomi, the last love of my long life"

The NW altar is copper colored and inscribed similarly to the others. Its top has a circular hole.

Ancient Osiriani::

"Shasha"
"For Shasha, my third wife, who taught me to always seek the best in life."

The SW altar is made of sandalwood and decorated with a fine ivory inlay. It is inscribed as well.

Ancient Osiriani::

"Elea"
"For Elea, my delicate desert flower. May the fourth rest forever at my side."

It can reasonably clear that the materal of the altars corresponds to the rods now inserted into the center alter.

Fox attempts to figure out the writing on the silver altar.
