Everyone hunkers down behind cover, waiting for the gangers to come into a clear field of fire for an ambush. The goons stay low for the most part, sensing the potential danger, and move forward mindful of cover. More shouts come from the west as more bruisers from the Wreckwash get close.
I think Saria and Zadira have a fairly clear shot on green, but so far they don't have your locations pinpointed.
Round Two
Characters are up. They're closer and moving closer each round...

"Sokkla, let's move back a bit. We can bottleneck them just as well at the top of the stairs, and have more cover."
Tormnyr moves back up the stairs and again uses Total Defense.

"I can see one, but I'm not as good a shot as you Zadira."Saria whispers to her companion. "If I shoot him now, I don't think I'll accomplish much beside giving away our position. I'd prefer to wait until he's a bit closer."

Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Can I keep a clear view of the enemies from where we are if I'm prone? Since I can still fire a crossbow that way, it'd make sense to do so in case they're carrying ranged weapons.

Sokkla nods and moves up the stairs with Tormnyr, happy to follow the more experienced fighters advise. Looking around she has an idea...
Is there any debris at the top of the stairs that Sokkla can grab this round and ready to love down the stairs when the time comes? I'm thinking a barrel or an old crate or something, something that might knock them back and hinder them on the stairs
