Hard Once during the adventure, each PC gains a +2 bonus to an Engineering check, a Sleight of Hand check, or a Reflex save against an analog trap or hazard.

EXPLORE AND REPORT REWARD

You gain some insight into the site's layout and recognize some patterns in its construction.

Hard Once during the adventure, each PC can roll twice and take the better result on a Survival or Perception check.

INTERVIEW LOCALS REWARD

You hear rumors from the locals about the dangers of the ruins.

Average The PCs hear several tales of people going into the ruins and not returning, or of people returning after months or even years had passed thinking they'd only been gone a few moments. Ghosts and spirits in peculiar clothing are also said to inhabit the ruins. Some of the locals take an interest in the PCs' investigations and gift them each a brown nanite hypopen that must be used during this adventure. A PC can use a brown nanite hypopen as a standard action on themselves or a willing or unconscious living creature to grant the benefits of lesser remove condition (Starfinder Armory 106).

RALLY THE RANKS REWARD You inspire your fellow Starfinders, and the experience buoys your own sprits.

Hard Once during the adventure, each PC can roll twice and take the higher on a Charisma-based skill check.

SUPPLY LINES REWARD

The supply teams are grateful for your assistance and grant them each a vial of magically-infused broth that heals the body and steels the mind.

Average Once during the adventure, a PC can consume this broth to gain the effects of a mk 3 serum of healing and a +1 bonus to Will saves for a number of minutes equal to their character level.

Hello Everyone! I'm GM Hmm, a quirky but fun GM.

Welcome to my Tier 7-8 table of Perils in the Past! I hope that you all will enjoy this weird little story where the Starfinder storyline is intermixed with the Pathfinder storyline that was played at Nostalgia Con. Specials tend to be fast-paced so let's get to know one another.

Maxamas Maxamas to the rescue. A gentleman, you can see how he is dressed, though not necessarily a diplomat. The calm type, he might even say "good day sir" Maxamas Maxamas was born into a wealthy family, they taught him to become wealthy, you must be money tight and save up for the big stuff and so he was, but to be kind as always. As you can see, he still has very low level armor to be the penny pusher he is. He lived a normal life, with few friends. Maxamas Maxamas is the operative with the divine champion archtype so he can heal as well as do his operative stuff. He loved going up against Sarcesian Snipers in Blackmoon, having to deal with them was a challenge well served and he made it out alive, along with everyone else.

Of course I can keep the fast pace.

Kneepuncher is a man of contradictions. He walks around in powered armor and makes a living hitting people in various body parts (with he added height from the armor, he is no longer limited to knees). However, he prefers to handle matters with his words, and in his off-hours, spreads love where he can. Eager to help and with hair dyed green, he is occasionally mistaken for a gnome.

His shield is emblazoned with the insignia of Oras' Razors, one member of which he met while searching for a hacker who might help with the Data Scourge (4-04). He's no vidgamer, but is one of the team's cheerleaders and owns some of their merch.

Expect to see the occasional (joking) attempt to use Profession (Courtesan) when it does not apply. Player does not expect these to be considered or even acknowledged, and will definitely limit it to PG.

Botting KP is pretty simple. Full attack entropic strike is possible, move and entropic strike if not. Character sheet needs a level up and will have that and macros by start of game. I can usually keep up the pace, though, and I am also on US Eastern Time.

Weird Character Stuff:
Kneepuncher has a strange rules interaction on full attacks, and I've never seen an official answer for how it works, so I leave it up to GM interpretation for each table.

He has the boon Possessed Augmentation (Arm), which reduces the penalty for full attacks using that limb by 1. He is a vanguard, so his primary attack is unarmed. He also has the Multi-Weapon Fighting feat, which reduces the full attack penalty when using two weapons by 1. Can he use two different parts of the arm (say, fist, then elbow) to full attack at -2/-2, or does he need to switch to a different attack (e.g. kick, shield bash) for MWF to apply, meaning full attack is at -2/-3? Not going to argue for either side; whatever you say goes for the game.

And what if he had a weapon in that hand (club/elbow)?

I was torn between Hmm and bigboom. Ended up here because I have played with the latter a lot and my level 6 character might be awkward in a special (khizar = lots of weird sensory interactions).

Well I am glad that you will be giving me a shot. Big Boom is wonderful, of course.

As for hosting Manifolds, Charla Ritzpan (the Manifold Host head of the welcoming committee) was directly based on Charli Poshkettle. So I had to make Charli Manifold Host! Fortunately, I GMed at the PaizoCon where that was first offered. But I have high hopes that they will provide another entree into MH at some point.

As for GM popularity, I've probably gotten more recognition than I deserve! But I'm happy that people seem to enjoy my tables.

Zargothrax McDonald... a happy-go-lucky Vesk who has recently become prone to bouts of melancholy due to a recent mishap. Expect lots of questionable repair jobs and stories of his childhood. He's a technomancer with heavy armor who likes to get up close and personal.

Zargothrax took a year off from adventuring with the society. He recently returned to the Veskarium for a simple mission, and was quite happy to return to his former home and get back on his feet after his time off.

I'm good with the fast pace, and will get my botting spoilers updated when I finish updating my character. I'm good to be botted or bot others. I'm on Pacific Time (California)

1. Who are you bringing to the party? What do you do? I love to hear a little of character backstory, personality and mechanics.

I'll be breaking Teka Teach, a more long-lived ysoki envoy.

Teka is primarily focused on resolving issues outside of combat, using her skill in computers, engineering, and diplomacy where possible. In combat, with a host of helpful augmentations to keep her body going, she tries to focus her shots to take down enemies with her non-lethal weaponry where possible.

She has been a support engineer with the society for many years up to the point she was removed from action for a time during the Scoured Stars incident. Following that her more adventurous spirit was kindled and she started taking on more exciting missions, so she could have stories to share and make sure she can help bring others home safely.

In combat she uses Double Tap to try to do as much damage as she is able, but doesn't have any other envoy abilities that help the party land their shots. Her envoy improvisations come in the form of grandmotherly/kindly advice that keep her allies in the fight. Inspiring Oration to restore the party's stamina and Don't Quit to remove debilitating conditions others.

1b. Any weird character stuff I should know about?

I have Long Range Improvisation which extends the range of my few tricks, because of that I can perform them within 60-120 feet of my ally.

I also have Universal Diplomacy which allows me to use Diplomacy to change attitude without sharing a language (or if they have an intelligence of 1 or 2).

1c. What has been your character's favorite mission so far?

Waking the Past was an interesting adventure for this character. That one stands out in my mind.

Logistics

I'm good with maintaining a fast pace and I'm also fine with being botted or botting others

I'm pretty sure my botting instructions are up to date, but I'll be double checking that I have the numbers to be reasonable and I might still do another editing pass on them for clarity.

Daata is a newly chosen name of an izalguun who left Izalraan to explore the stars as a Starfinder. He is conflicted about his decision to leave home, but has found his beloved work with machines rewarding. He is pensive and quiet, like most izalguuns, and strives to make minimal but positive impressions on folks.

Nothing super weird, just that being an izalguun he is Large.

1c. What has been your character's favorite mission so far?

Probably Haven for Scourged Machines, being surrounded by advanced tech and challenged to navigate a synthetic cyberspace.

Srurdez will be joining the group for this foray into the Perils of the Past. He is a combat envoy. Specifically, he favours being in the thick of things and causing a ruckus, getting his claws dirty. Notably, he wields an Orcish Greataxe instead of a traditional vesk doshko. He has... issues with the Veskarium in general, to the point that Ehu has decided not to include Srurdez on any of the recent-ish missions to build relations with the Empire.

Most of the time, Srurdez can be seen smoking a cigarette and a sh*t-eating grin, as if the whole world was a personal joke crafted especially for him.

Mechanically, he bosses folks around, both allies and enemies. He does have Get 'Em, but only to use with extra actions most of the time, as he prefers to execute Combat Expertise attacks with his axe - either thrown or up close. He also has Hurry, if he can boss a follow Starfinder into doing things properly.

1b. Any weird character stuff I should know about?

Combat Expertise is a type of skill-attack similar to Trick Attack, but results in a Shaken condition. It is not called out as Mind-Affecting in any way, and thus should apply to enemies immune to Mind-Affecting actions.

1c. What has been your character's favorite mission so far?

Oh definitely The Last Bite. Catching that little Rat was so much fun. >:D (And also, sparring with Suzi)

Maxamas, I just noticed that as an operative you have a EAC of 14 at Level 7. What is your character's dex? What are you wearing for armor? How many credits do you have, currently? There is a supply tent here. Let's get you properly outfitted so that you can have a level-appropriate armor class.

Hey there! Looking at your character sheet more deeply answered some of my questions. You have a dex of 18, 43,000 credits and are still wearing Kasatha Microcord 1 armor from many levels ago.

So... Let's go shopping! Here are my suggestions:

Mk 1 + Mk 2 Personal Upgrades

They're from the CRB. I suggest putting the Mk 2 into Dex, since operatives get so much from dex -- your AC, RP, dex skills and attack bonuses will all go up by +2.

Put the Mk 1 bonus into any attribute that is not dex. Choose whatever makes sense to you.

Cost for both: 7,900 credits.

Advanced Lashunta Temp Weave

This is from CRB, so you can purchase it one level higher. It will give you +9 EAC and +10 KAC, and three upgrade slots.

Cost: 8,500 credits.

It's probably also a good idea to pick up a level-appropriate energy weapon and some fusions. My favorite fusions are called and merciful, but I also like holy and ghostkiller, both of which would be appropriate for your character.

Yeah, I guess it is time to upgrade, I'll buy the Mk 2 for Dex, Mk 1 for con: 7900 credits.
and the Thermskin II armor for galaxy exploration manual for 5,900 credits.
As far as energy weapon, I need a suggestion, budget 6 K credits. Range 30 feet or better. Fusions not yet, I may need to switch one out later if I pick the wrong one.

I'm not familiar enough with small arms to be 100% confident on suggestions, but a corona laser pistol has the range and more. You would even be able to add a fusion for 1040 credits and still remain within your budget.

The thunderstrike sonic pistol does similar amount of damage (just a bit less) for less cost, but also has lower range and uses more ammo with each shot. Even if you do want a different fusion later, the cost here is low enough that it would be reasonable to have a neat fusion attached.

There are other weapons within the range that do acid or electricity instead.

Maxamas:
Maxamas, the armor that I suggested allows you to put all 6 of your dex into your AC and provides a much higher AC bonus over all so you won't have to upgrade again until level 9 or so. I find this saves my characters money in the long run. Generally speaking if your armor is two levels lower than you, you will get hit all the time. If it is level-appropriate, you get hit far less, saving you the cost of healing serums and time because you'll need fewer ten minute rests and be knocked out less.

Other advantages: with 3 upgrade slots, you could add a jetpack and/or a thermal capacitator. These are things that have pulled me out of tight spots in higher level play.

Another thought? Has your character played Ashes of Discovery? If you have, you can borrow the armor you need for three adventures, and then spend money on the next level armor.

Okay thanks, instead I'll buy that armor for 2600 more credits. And add a Jet pack for 3100 credits. I didn't know how often I would get hit statistically speaking.
Don't have ashes of discovery on this character.
Thermal Capacity, nah. It seems like a good choice, but there are other things I'll want to add that I could do cool things with, just not sure yet.
