Think about your character's history, motivation, and ideology. Then answer the following in this thread:

1. As a child how would you have described the "perfect" monarch?

2. The best part about having a system of nobility is....

3. The worst part of having a system of nobility is....

Don't forget that you need to make a post in the Gameplay thread for this game to show up in on your campaign tab. Make a post there of anything you want, but a physical description of your character would be a great help.

1. As a child, Xavien would have said the "perfect" monarch is one who puts the nobility in their place. Today his thinking is more nuanced: Marendo believes that a "perfect" monarch is one who sees through the nobility's plots and lethargies, and leads the nation to renewed vitality whether the nobility wish it or not.

2. Marendo believes that the best part about having a system of nobility is derived from the division of labor. Leadership is a difficult business, and a nobility is an efficient system for ensuring that some individuals are developed for leadership from a very young age. Moreover, while he would have supported revolution for sake of revolution in his younger days, he is now cognizant of the direction such endeavors can turn, as in the frightful chaos of Galt or the corruption that plagues Andoran.

3. Alas, the nobility all too often eschews its role as a guiding hand for Taldor, and instead concentrates on their own petty squabbles and selfish pursuits.
