Merle and Seph's Sigil Adventures

Bribes always welcome

Merle and Seph relax after their long journey to the Drow metropolis. They lounge in their room on the Third Floor of the Copper Cauldron, enjoying the feel of their own beds and a truly restful nights sleep.

The peak dawns drizzly. The window of their room is beaded with moisture. It overlooks Copper Court, and a low sound of people going about their days comes through the wavy glass

Female catfolk sorceror 11

Merle yawned and uncurled from her bed in a most cat like manner. Getting up and making sure not to disturb Seph Merle got dressed and sorted herself in the mirror before heading down into the main room

Bribes always welcome

The smell of food wafts up from the common room as Merle descends the staircase. The common room is full of locals eating their breakfasts and chatting. Merle doesn’t see any of the Silver Rose people yet, but Ramona smiles as she walks by and asks if Merle would like anything to eat

Female catfolk sorceror 11

"Please." Merle orders a meat breakfast and settles down to eat

Bribes always welcome

The breakfast is mostly sausages and ham, but delicious. Merle finishes up, feeling content. The day seems drizzly, but that’s usual for the city. Renkar had called a debriefing for the Afterpeak at the Silver Rose offices, but that leaves Merle about 6-8 hours of free time

Female catfolk sorceror 11

Merle once making sure Seph was up, ready and had breakfast began to plan out her day she figured maybe having a walk around a small part of the city could be a good way to pass the time maybe even visit Skint at the end.

Feeling pretty cheerfull and with Seph alongside Mere headed out for a few hours exploration.

Bribes always welcome

The early peak hours are busy fir this part of Sigil. Copperman’s Way flows towards snd away from the Great Bazaar, and endless River of pedestrians, carriages, palanquins, and wagons. The two siblings head towards the Great Bazaar, as it is a fun colorful place to browse for goods.

As the two enter the throng of stalls, there is a hue and cry

“STOP THIEF!!”

A skinny man rushes through the nearby crowd, being chased by two Harmonium namers in red armor. The man leaps onto a cornice and begins scrambling towards the upper stories of one of the buildings along the edge of the Great Bazaar. The two Harmonium start whirling bolas above their heads

Female catfolk sorceror 11

"Huh...." Merlc casts a grease spell to slow the fleeing thief down.

Bribes always welcome

The climbing man finds his hands greasy and he tumbles to the ground. The Harmonium pounce on him and begin to beat him savagely. They haul him up semi-conscious and start dragging him off

Female catfolk sorceror 11

"Geez not even so much as a thanks for your help..." Merle approaches the guards "So what did he steal anyway?"

Bribes always welcome

The closest vendor shrugs

“Didn’t see”

A red-armored figure walks up to Merle

“Greetings citizen! On behalf of the Harmonium, I wish to thank you for your timely assistance in apprehending that rule breaker. Can I ask you a few questions?”

Female catfolk sorceror 11

"Uh yeah sure I guess."

Bribes always welcome

The Harmonium is a young human female. She takes out a pad of paper and a writing stick

"Can I have your name and current address? Also, can I have your current place of employment? Are you a citizen? "

Female catfolk sorceror 11

"Merle bearer, the copper cauldren at the copper court, Silver rose and I dont think so?"

Bribes always welcome

The woman scribbles furiously

“Thank you Ms. Bearer. I assume you are new to our city. Let me welcome you to Sigil. The Sigilian Municipal Code mandates that if you plan to establish long-term residency in Sigil you should head to the City Court and register as a citizen. They operate during the hours of 4 Beforepeak to 4 Afterpeak , except for Shineday and Moonday. Failure to register can lead to fines and possible incarceration. Good day “

With that, the woman clanks off

Roll a Perception

Female catfolk sorceror 11

Seph Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Merle perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Bribes always welcome

The crowd has gone back to their business. Merle sees a stall full of silken clothes. Steph sees a gnome at a stall selling dozens of intricate clockwork toys

Female catfolk sorceror 11

Merle heads on over to the silk stall to have a look over the wares

Bribes always welcome

The vendor is a human woman. She smiles at Merle

“Greetings! Are you looking for any clothing in particular? Color, cut, pattern?”

Female catfolk sorceror 11

"............What do you have in the way of robes?"

Bribes always welcome

The woman pulls a rose-colored silken robe with delicate needlework embroidery of various flowers on the hem and sleeves.

“This one is Granthanian tree spider silk. Just came in! I can let you have it for 75 gold”

Female catfolk sorceror 11

Merle had no idea where or what Granthanian is but nodded anyway "Sure sounds good." As she payed and took the item

Bribes always welcome

I’ll dovetail you back into the main story

The lady wraps the robe in some paper and hands it to Merle. The package is a bit bulky, so she decides to head back to her room to drop it off
