Part 1: How Not to Deal With Goblinoid Threats
Combat Map
Here's where to discuss all things related to the game.
She/They/He
Yay!
What are the build rules :3
15 point buy, core and featured races from the Advanced Race Guide, Paizo classes only, no alignment restrictions but be sensible :)
Edit: Starting at level 1, of course.
Okay, I'm here. Sorry it's taken me so long, I really haven't been doing too good today with it sounding like we're in the middle of a war zone.
It's bringing up a lot of ugly memories. I don't know....I don't really remember when the 4th started to become so awful for me, or why it makes me feel the way it does....it just does and I hate it.
You know I'll probably be chaotic good no matter what I am because I don't really know how to be anything else.
Added a bunch of stuff to the campaign info tab.
I'm assuming level 1. I've been using the Archives of Nethys and I think there are traits and variants there that were added later.
Can I take the IceMage feat? I don't know what "Irrisen affinity" is, but since there's no Irrisen here anyway so I had to ask.
Man, I don't even know yet. My head is pounding so hard, I'm having a hard time thinking of anything.
I think that feat predates PF1e. Google doesn't turn up anything for "Irrisen affinity" either.
Anyway, you can take that feat, but you will definitely be known as a non-resident of the valley (for reasons that will come into play at some point).
I edited in the level 1 requirement after I wrote it. For some reason, it never occurred to me to state that.
We'll work on my character tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be a little quieter.
I'm guessing that has something to do with the title?
Average starting wealth or rolling?
I went to sleep with a headache, and even though I slept pretty well, I woke up with the same stupid headache.
After much deliberation, and considering the types of characters I've played nefore, and how I've played them, I think I'm gonna go with a Dwarven Warpriestess of Torag, and I'm gonna try Nuetral Good, cuz Henry says I play closer to that alignment than Chaotic anyways.
I like that I can offer support, as well as get in someone's face with my trusty warhammer. I've never tried playing a dwarf before, but they get bonuses to fight goblins and stuff, and their line of thinking and temperament seem to kinda go along with my own.
Of course, I don't really know how my character's personality is gonna be until it starts developing through play.
I also decided I would be one of the local Dwarves from the valley, and currently resides in the Dwarven stronghold of Varota.
I just have to make the character now, and come up with backstory and stuff.
Female Dwarf WarPriestess/2 HP 18/18; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +1, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +5 (+7 vs unusual stonework)
Well, here she is. Let me know what you think. Will work on filler later.
Nice I'll take a look at stuff later today.
Male
I have returned. Greetings everyone.
I've got 4 character concepts in mind for this one, though I don't think one of them will quite fit.
What were you thinking of?
Female Dwarf WarPriestess/2 HP 18/18; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +1, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +5 (+7 vs unusual stonework)
Hmm so looks like we already have Full Arcane caster and Divine half-caster. Might go with melee or skill (or a melee/caster combo)

I think either would be really good. You're pretty good at the whole A$$ kicker caster combo.

So after narrowing it down to one character and looking at the classes, I think I'm going to go straight up Brawler. No Shield Champion this time, just doesn't fit the character concept well.

So that's pure melee. I'm thinking given the setting, some knowledge/power over Nature might be useful.
That'd be either Shaman, Ranger or Druid.
Female Dwarf WarPriestess/2 HP 18/18; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +1, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +5 (+7 vs unusual stonework)
Druids are cool, and there's an order of them in the area.
Rangers get animal companions and can do distance attacks
Shamans are also able to do some healing type stuff.
Really, all three are really good options. I'm kinda partial to the Druids and Rangers....but you should just go with whatever you like best.
:o)

Okay, I am now completely done and ready to report for duty.
Lol
I got the background and appearance done for her. The first background story I wrote, I feel was better...but I forgot to copy it and of course it got eaten, so I had to start over.
I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with.
*claps excitedly*

NG Half-Elf Arcanist
Still need a background but I think I've got the fiddly bits done.
She/They/He
Hmm, might go Adaptive Shifter, thinkering still.
That or Sentinal Ranger, still thinkering.
Henry. Would a Druid work or is the secretive druid organization a plot point better left to be discovered?
What's the culture of the setting (would a shaman fit? Be an immediate outcast, or just a little odd?)

A druid can work. Just because you are one doesn't mean you are privy to any big secrets.
A shaman would get a lot of side-eye. In the setting, most people are superstitious, the rest pretty religious.

Nice! I'll probably go with half-elf druid. Looking at archetypes now.

Are we doing Background skills?

Here is my character avatar. Crunch and Fluff are still in progress.

What's background skills?

These.
Basically, skills are broken up into two groups. One group is used more heavily in combat (Knowledge Arcana, Acrobatics, Stealth, etc) and the other is for outside of combat (Appraise, Crafting, Knowledge Nobility, etc). These groups have their own skill point pools.
Female Dwarf WarPriestess/2 HP 18/18; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +1, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +5 (+7 vs unusual stonework)
Biggest benefit is the classes like fighters and clerics who are starved for skill points anyway.

Well...when you're having a hard time deciding some things, that's a good way to do it.
So, are you still going with the Druid?

I'll allow background skills. Make your changes accordingly.

Yeah it's a better fit for the setting. Shaman might work better as a half-orc, something a little more foreign to the average citizen.
Maybe Moon-caller archetype, plant domain(growth subdomain). Draws power from both the Sun and Moon, strong bond to the Plant World
Female Dwarf WarPriestess/2 HP 18/18; Init: +1; AC: 18, T: 12, FF: 16; Fort: +5, Ref: +1, Will: +6 (+2 vs poison, spells and spell-like abilities); Perception: +5 (+7 vs unusual stonework)
Cool...I'm really looking forward to playing again.

I don't know why I asked if you were playing a druid. Looking back I can see that you put that in there. I guess I just didn't see it.

Very cool. I just have one question though, are you 21 or 22, cuz your thingy says something different in 2 places.
