I also feel like we're not in danger of being murdered in the first combat anymore, and Melira did tell him to run.

Spoilers work for me, especially for checks like sense motive or perception. I will generally roll any dice that I think I should, but you can disregard any roll I make since I'm just doing it for the sake of expediency.

Let me know if I'm overdoing it on the italics. I can cut out my character's thoughts more later on, but for now it seems reasonable since things are complicated and I want to convey my character's perspective.
