Current conditions are difficult terrain and increase Acrobatics DCs, DC15 to run or charge. Starting turns within 5ft of the oozes causes 1d6 fire damage. Striking with a weapon forces a Reflex vs 2d6 fire damage to the weapon.

Nectanebo recognizes the oozes as shard slags, dangerous creatures with much sturdier defenses than more common ones. In his haste, his mind slips past any grasp of further knowledge that what has already been displayed. Ooze type and traits.

The other slag grows a full complement of blades and flails at Kahwen and the skeleton next to it. With one slash it explodes the servant, before two more cruel slashes burn into the rogue. Thankfully, the final swings strike only the stone floor. However, the burning heat is sickening, causing Kahwen to stagger back.

Kahwen abruptly realizes that his tactical withdrawal is quickly just becoming him abandoning his fellow Pathfinders. He skids to a halt, turns around and starts running back down the stairs as quickly as he can.

Just moving back, not sure if that will put me back where my token is on the map or if I need another round.

Kahwen only would have been maybe 15ft up the stairs. Let me know if he has anything else to offer the party.

Kahwen slips past the comatose Farroon. "Pardon me, madame."

He twists into a cartwheel to avoid being slashed by the weird creature then takes a swing with his sword, taking care to keep it in a defensive position, a position only enhanced by his new, agile stance.

Acrobatics to Avoid AoO: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (2) + 23 = 25

Kahwen has mobility so his AC is 30 vs. AoO's caused by his movement and when fighting defensively in Crane stance with his Acrobatics his AC is 30 in general.

Table Maps | Oathbreakers Die | Passing the Torch

Kahwen makes a desperate dash into the fray and with one slice cuts through the chilled metal, causing the slag to collapse into the goo covering the floor!

Mykel already provoked its one AoO, so no danger there. Kahwen will need a reflex save against the fire damage to his weapon.

The machine shudders and forms a lifelike image made of its own tendrils and vile fluids. The image depicts an elven woman inserting an obsidian key into the machine’s flesh, a glowing spatial rift opening, and the elven woman walking through the rift accompanied by a halfling and a troll. The machine absorbs the image back into its body and a hand-shaped depression appears in its place.

Kahwen finds the machine too alien to even attempt to disable. As he places his hand in the depression, the tendrils surge over his arm to the elbow as a host of incomprehensible, inhuman imagery assaults his mind.

Cha Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6 Will save to reduce.

Then, just as quickly, the machines tendrils retreat, freeing Kahwen from the embrace. A shimmering rift opens in space, hovering just a few inches above the goo-covered floor.

Assuming everyone performed their healing as Kahwen did, moving right along.

The trip through the shimmering portal is instantaneous and leads to the sterncastle of a black-hulled ghost ship. Though an icy wind blows the tattered remains of the ship’s useless black sails, some other force seems to push the vessel through a churning gray sea. Overhead, the sky is full of unrecognizable stars and an enormous white moon. To starboard, the gray sea is vast and endless. Several hundred yards to port, a single bleak rock, studded with strangely proportioned architecture, rises from the sea. A brass plaque mounted on the mast behind the ship’s wheel is inscribed with the name Voracious.

Behind, the portal appears to remain open. Nothing stirs on the deck, while it is obvious that the longboat on the deck has rotted to uselessness. A strange, hollow piping echoes from below decks.

As you take in the strange sights, an oppressive feeling descends upon you all, especially on Kahwen.

Kahwen is taking a -4 to all mental-attribute based checks, while the rest of the part is only -2.
