I'm in a GM Round Robin to learn the art of GM'ing PbP so I'm just seeing what I need to prepare for, though my turn isn't near... We're also trying out RPG Chronicles which doesn't appear to be too bad... Of course, we'll need to wait for the game to end before we see whether it's any good or not! :)
Basically, there has to be an easier way to do stuff! :)

![]() |

I agree. I wonder if there is a library of resources that the forums have for DM use?

![]() |

I think the benefit of RPG Chronicles is that they will email the chronicles to you. It's free for the most part. Some benefits to make things more automated if you pay ($5/month or $50/year).

considering it's not really all that much.

Tyranius has described how to create digital chronicle Keep in mind, chronicles were introduced to print out and fill with pen ;) So the process is not nice or pleasant. On top of that the chronicles has different fields ;) (the newer ones does not have player name but only the PC name ;)) etc.
I know that there are still people who fill chronicles by hand and send pictures. Others are using free tools to fill pdf's. There is plenty of ways to do that.

Player name is kinda redundant anyway. The only important bit is the PFS# :)
fill with pen? what's that? so undignified... ;)

Alright lads, here's what you do. Print the chronicle page as a PDF. Open it up in Acrobat. Use the fill edit/fill function to slap in the relevant stuff, save, send to players. Easy.

Hey everyone, just a heads up from me. I won't be able to post until Sunday.

![]() |

Chadius, Escaping the Grave (1-03) has all the maps come out as one piece. I just got done playing that one -- that's a fun one, especially the last fight at the end...

![]() |

I noticed the scenario you signed up for in Gameday. That's a fun one -- probably my most memorable. The GM was pretty good too...

![]() |

My idea for escape plan for Friday:
- Try to forge papers for Stone Giant to be our slave hired to carry load (using the templates that Ysoldt got from the Ministry)
- Try to forge papers for Flitch, Yuleg, Daffrid and Vurna using Flitch samples
- Ask Yuleg to sign papers that he sells us X amount of Barrels of Fish (that would be a legit document, besides us not paying ;))
Yeah, that is a lot for Avonatha. The other group use (probably Crafting) to prepare the Barrels with fish for anyone who does not have good paper. So if Avonatha fails to forge papers for individuals he goes with the fish ;)
The barrels would most likely have small holes to bring the air in, 2nd bottom to separate fish from the flesh.
If we fail to forge papers for the stone giant, he would have to pretend the pile of rocks, and we would need some cart to bring him in.
And we nominate Ysoldt to be the group deception artist ;)

When you say 'you' you mean who exactly? And what is the scenario that you are talking about?

Sorry. I meant Chadius... Dacilane Academy is the one he signed up for... I just realized that what I said was totally open-ended! :)

Just going back, apologies if I didn't say I was work at a music festival this weekend just gone ... Going back I see that a post I wrote with details of the festival and to botting instructions for Jac seem to have got lost, or have in my memory. So sorry about disappearing for a few day.
Got back from the festival yesterday ...
See highlights for the Wickham Festival 2021 on Google, YouTube. Six days of chaos and mud. The main stage was deemed unfit, electricity and rain don't mix. So was down to 3 stages, Main Stage to the big top, big top to a smallish marquee etc... Oh and the mud... we had lots of it ...
Tractors had to put cars into the car park, as well as take them out.
I'll be with you all soon ... catching up with work and life still.
Not sure if you've finished the scenario, but will find out later today.

Sounds fun. I had a tent fall on us once at a festival. Strong winds. One guy got slammed by the support beam. Smashed his skull really bad. Nobody I know, but ... Weather can do stuff to you.
Anyway, welcome back.

Ha, Dacilane Academy! Never played it. And thanks for the nice words, that was a fun game and I like the setup of that scenario.

Hey @Jacknife good to have you back!

Hey @Jacknife good to have you back!
Didn't show that you've never played it. I'd just assumed you've played it before -- since it's usually easier to GM something if you've experienced the other side of the table already...

The details looks good, and thank you for the hero point.
And I am sorry for not sending my nominations, the request has fallen on some busy time.

![]() |

Do all players need to make the Are we there yet check? Quickblade is untrained in both skills.

I think the answer is yes ... often these sorts of skill checks are along the lines of, you need 3 successes out of 6 across the party, so it doesn't punish different builds that much.
And you can always make checks untrained, unless the GM asks for only Trained, Expert etc...

![]() |

I mean if it's that important, I would reroll the papers thing. Just thought it would be fun failing for a change.
ON THE EXIT CHECKPOINT

Sorry yesterday was the first day of school back with students, It was craazy!
You lucky thing ... :-)

Oh wow, when my wife was a teacher, they had to cover for lots of absences, it's a lot harder job than people give credit for. Eventually she left, she ran out of energy needed for the job and is working in admin part-time now, so she doesn't bring the job home with her. She was and the back end of her 50s when she came out of teaching.
Hope it gets easier ...

Thanks for running, Chadius! Fun game, especially the reefclaw and warehouse fight!

![]() |

@GM Chadius thank you so much for running this game. I was one of the last one of the season 1 scenarios that I wanted to play and I am glad that I played it at this table.
I actually love the idea of the scenario, sneaking individuals out of town, figuring out a plan to do it, speaking with a group of people. All of that happening in the town that stopped in town, darn what a set-up!
Very nicely executed there! I liked the interaction with Baralbus when we tried to get to Themolin! Nicely done, you presented him so well!
At some point, I wondered how much the citizens would be more like long-living elves and less like people. So the Rookie from the guards might have worked for hundreds of years, just doing different jobs. How excited, enthusiastic would they be? Are Daffrid kids still mentally kids? Would talking with them be like talking with an ever-living being just locked in a body of a child?
Anywho, great game! I loved it a lot. And thank the team for the good work!

![]() |

Thank you for the game everyone! That was great. The team was awesome - great chemistry.
I still wonder what's up with Pelican. Hopefully nothing bad.
Chadius, hats off to you. Great interactions and references.

![]() |

Thanks to the DM and my fellow players, This was really fun. We should do it again, well not this one but one :)

![]() |

Don't mind me, just rolling day job checks for the GM.
Performance: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Very average.

>>CLICK HERE<< to download your chronicle sheets. Make sure I didn't make any errors on them or forget your purchases. (I should have been asleep maybe half an hour ago, but it is the weekend...) By the way, Radiant Oath members get an extra 2 reputation points for completing the mission.
If it looks good, please confirm. Once everyone is alright with the chronicles I'll report it.
I love this scenario. Every team handles the extraction differently. You're the first team who didn't go straight to Flitch. Daffrid seems to be the most affected by the temporal loop - she knows too much and thinks about it too hard. Reliving the same week for thousands of years is pretty horrifying. Kind of like Groundhog Day but on a city-wide scale.

![]() |

Looks good! Thanks for running it.
Only slight downside to RPG Chronicles is that it doesn't account for the downtime roll. But GM Valen used it for a quest I played here. He said it was easier to do it that using Adobe Acrobat.

![]() |

I also got confirmation from Discord -- the paid accounts will automatically email chronicles...

![]() |

Chronicle looks good, it is downloaded. Thanks
@UncleFroggy - just FYI Gm Valen is the author of this scenario

I didn't even notice until you mentioned it.
