Sorry I didn't communicate it better, my intent was to attack both archers, to see if one was a illusion, but leave as is, i's a headache to retcon. Does he see a third figure?

Stepping towards the final fiend, Elek tries to stay close enough to he corner so as not to get snuck on. Confident that Harrington will have to move off of the bed to strike him, he feints at the archer's face with his blade. Commanding the cursed cannon "Yánggōng" Firing the point blank at her chest as he thrusts the estoc towards her neck. Before you start moving....

Elek Knowledge (arcane): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Based on what you learned about mages, you know that most ongoing spells require line-of-sight to the caster.

Yeah, I'm glad Elek knew that.

Frowning Elek moves to the door and looks out into the hallway, then turning back towards the room, starts riffling through anything in the room that might be large enough to hold Lady Nightshade.

Taking 10(29) on perception

You check under the bed (the only apparent place someone could be hiding) but find nothing.

did he find anything interesting in the room that may have been helping with a magical doodad? did he hear anyone running away? Did he find anyplace that had a peep hole? Any other sort of knowledge check that would help here? Should he go check the roof to see if anyone is peeking in? Would he have noticed the roof line? There seems to be some place that have two floors and some with three.

The answer to all of your questions is No.

THIS is an example of what a high-level illusionist can do. Lady Nightshade isn't doing anything nearly this complicated, but you can see that Knowledge checks, Perception checks, and other relatively mundane solutions won't cut it. After looking over Elek's character sheet, I can confirm that he has at least four ways of overcoming this challenge. XD

Retired to SUMITHA

Frustrated that he isn't able to find the illusionist simply, he moves to the doorway so he can see in the room and the hall. Then pulling out Svingli's Eye, he uses the magic items 'true seeing.'

Amusingly, I'd thought you'd already used that power, so I wasn't counting it as a way to overcome the challenge. XD

As you activate Svingli's Eye, the bookcase that was placed entirely-too-close to the bed vanishes, revealing a closet. Crouched in front of the door is Lady Nightshade, concealed under an invisibility spell.

Map's been updated.

Shaking his head as he picks the illusionist off the floor and tosses her on the bed, Elek tries to consider where he'd not looked yet. There was the tower in the northwest corner and the pit the scorpion thing was in. He didn't think it was likely that anyone was in either spot.

As Elek moved out of the room and into the hallway, intent on going downstairs, he considers who he may find, assuming none of the dead were revived. The only folks he'd seen was the odd fellow in the other tower and Harrigan himself.

Pausing in the storage room, Elek looked about to see if it seemed like anything was missing, then headed out the northern door towards the tower.

Keeping a keen eye out as he moved, he eventually enters the northwestern tower. Ascending to the third floor to see if perchance anyone was hiding there.

He feints with the trident at Harrigan's face, then thrusts the estoc at his chest repeatedly while driving the trident towards his former captain's neck.

Ducking the hurled sword, Elek smiles as Harrington falls. He quickly approaches his old captain, frisking the body for anything of value as he uses his deathwatch eyes to make sure Harrington is dead. He heads out of the room picking up the sword on the way and dropping it in his pack.

As he walked down the hallway he started to make a mental note of the dead, the living and the potential undead. He'd still not found the body of the masked woman, and he'd not found the odd fellow from the tower with the forked tongue. Moving down the stairs he heads through the storage area and out onto the battlements.

Once outside he tested the 'weather' again, attempting to raise a storm.

Either way
Drawing out his sending stone for the 'Revenge' he spoke. "Send crew and ships boats to gather treasure and survivors. Watch for any ships trying to escape. Contact me as soon as you see any."

Looking up at the tower to his north, Elek decides to double check the last possible room, before he rescues the prisoners and considers what to do with the fortress and the scorpion in the basement.

your 100% right, it did hit Elek, didn't even think about it. Did Harrington have anything else worth taking? And I didn't think about E2 and E2a being the third tower with the ballista, so skip the tower, he'll cut through E2 to E1 to go down the steps towards where grok was.

Furrowing his brow as he is able to call the wind, he wonders if the odd man was the witch and if he was the one controlling the weather. Releasing the wind, Elek moves through the northwestern tower E2 to the northeastern tower E1. Taking the steps to the first level he again opens the door into the room with the pit. Howling Skull Armor (worth 11,375gp; sells for half price)
This suit of masterwork studded leather armor is decorated with metal skulls. Once per day as a standard action, the wearer can command the skulls to unleash a cacophonous chorus of howls, causing all creatures within a 30-foot spread to make a DC 16 Will save to avoid becoming frightened for 1d4 rounds. The wearer can choose up to three targets (plus himself) in the area of effect to be exempt from the effect. The wearer of a suit of howling skull armor gains a +4 bonus on all saving throws against fear effects. Each time the wearer of howling skull armor succeeds at a saving throw against a fear effect created by someone other than himself, he gains a +2 bonus on Will saves for 1 round.

Grok is still lying at the bottom of the pit. You also notice a pile of empty vials where the healing potions used to be. That's probably how the evoker healed herself after you dimension doored away.

Not without rope, flight, or some other method.

Retired to SUMITHA

Relieved that the evoker had left Grok alive, Elek dropped his pack and rooted his old 50 ft rope out of it. Making sure the knots were tight he tied it off and dropped the other end into the pit. Trying not to wake her up, Elek tied the end of the rope around her like a harness. Moving her to the edge of the pit, he climbed the rope, then hauled her up. Once out of the pit, he carried her towards the front of the fort and the doors he'd blown open and waited for the two 'ships boats' to arrive.

Smiling as he sees Conchobhar and Breaker leading the two boats, he waits for them to beach the boats. As they disembark, he explains the battle, how he found Grok and Peppery Longfarthing, the layout of the buildings and the locations of the things he wants to take. Describing the 'silent' room he tells them to avoid it and that he would deal with anything inside. As they talk he carefully loads Grok into the first boat, then leads the crew to where Peppery is, and speaks calmly to her as they explain what's going on.

Once Peppery and Grok are secure, Elek has Conchobhar take them back to the 'Revenge' and then return to continue helping gather the plunder. As the crew begins to load the plunder on the second boat, Elek takes Breaker to the third floor, showing him the Illusionist, "Tie her up, and take her to Iryani, ask her to keep her alive, but just barely until I decide what to do with her." He points to Harrington, "Have the crew strip the bodies and toss them in the bay, we still need to decide what to do with the 'sea monster'."

Moving to the office with all the paper work, Elek contemplates the sea monster, the scorpion and the witch as he puts the contents of the office in the bag he'd taken from Harrington. He'd not found the witch yet, nor the body of the masked woman. Furrowing his brow he tells Breaker. "I think I encountered the witch Kipper warned us about. He dumped some powder on himself and I believe teleported. Did you see any ships trying to leave the Island, or did any winds stir as if someone might be flying?"

As the crew and Breaker went about the business of securing the prisoner, disposing the bodies and collecting the plunder and loot, Elek returned to the Masked womans quarters. Taking the time to remove the tomes for Iryani to research, the stone masked-shaped font and the red and black banner he places them in the magical bag he'd taken from Harrigan's corpse. Returning to Breaker, he asks, "Mr Bones would you see that Ms Iryani gets these items to look at. I'm going to finish the scorpion creature and see if there is some other way the witch and masked woman may have escaped."

Before he heads into the 'Silent room' he pulls out his wand and heals himself. Then pulling out the summons wand, he summons the first Hound Archon, pointing towards the silent room, "The room has no sound, there is a giant scorpion thing in the pit, go kill it." Using the wand a second time, he summons another hound archon telling it the same thing. Finally summoning a third hound he repeats the command. Dropping the wand in his pack, he draws his Estoc and commands the cursed prosthetic, " Jīngāng jiàn" as the adamantium estoc manifests on his cursed prosthetic he moves into the silent room, heading towards the silent battle.

"So you must be one of Harrigan's pests. I've been curious about you! Hopefully, when we next meet, you will have a change of heart. Submit to Thrune, and perhaps we may bargain - my thralls are well kept, after all. Perhaps you would enjoy a magistrate's position within our new colony? I suppose by the time you've finished with Harrigan, he won't be needing it. A shame, really ... he was such a good puppet. If your pride prevents you from bending the knee to me, no matter. There are plenty among the Free Captains who will gladly serve us once Bonefist falls and the Shackles break beneath my armada. In any event, I'll see you soon, so be sure to have an answer for me."

Raising an eyebrow as a miniature version of a woman rises from the black water in the stone masked-shaped font and begins to speak, Ele k chuckles, realizing she was as surprised as he. Curious about the font as she spoke, he wondered how much that sort of magic would cost. He was surprised by her casual attitude, but good tacticians didn't get ruffled when things don't go as planned. Hearing her call Harrigan a puppet didn't surprise him as much as he thought it would, and she was right, there were plenty of free captains who would betray anyone at the drop of a hat. Pleased that the back room was not silenced like the other, he began to answer, then saw the cracks starting to form as she blew her kiss. Ducking most of the explosion, he began to consider who this woman might be.
----------------------
Opening the bag to put the captured banner inside, Elek realize there were papers he'd not noticed. Reading quickly through the information he learned what the actual plan was to capture Port Peril and Fort Hazard. Shaking his head, he wondered if this admiral may have been the woman he saw in the Font.
-----------------------
Knowing he would need to leave with the tide, Elek calculated how many hours he'd have to search for the witch and the body of the masked woman. Resolute in removing the scorpion threat, he sticks to his immediate plan.

You recognize the woman as Druvalia Thrune, admiral of the Chelish navy and cousin to the queen. She commands Abrogail's Fury, the second most powerful pirate hunter after the Dominator. From rumors you've collected over the years, she's being courted by a member of House Salisfer in an attempt to increase the power of both houses.

You continue to receive minor wounds from the creature's spines, but this time, you manage to deal enough damage to defeat it.

Now that you have a chance to look around, you see the partially-eaten body of a masked woman.

did we ever figure out what the creature was?

Frowning at the wounds from the Carapace Elek moves away from the creature. Seeing the partially eaten body, Elek decided at least one mystery was solved. Wondering who threw the body down here, Elek checked the corpse anything of value, especially trying to recover the armor.

As he did so he considered what could have happened. He knew the witch had made a pet of the sea monster, he wondered if it was possible that the fellow had also trained the creature here. Having stripped the corpse of anything of value, Elek tells the cursed prosthetic, "Chéngwéi dàpào" As it transformed from the adamantium blade to the adamantium and mithril cannon, he sheathed the other estoc and drew the wand.

As he followed the cave, hoping to find another exit with the witch attached he began to heal himself,

Do you mind if he uses the 14th lvl background feat Robustness? I basically doubles the rolls. I didn't know if he needed to rest first.

You're not sure what that creature was. It's vaguely scorpion-esque, but the head and tail shapes aren't like a normal member of that species.

Loot
Silver holy symbol shaped like a featureless mask (worth 25gp)
glamered chain shirt
ring of mind shielding

You find a narrow tunnel that descends several hundred feet in a winding fashion. As it's low tide, you're able to wade through chest-deep seawater and make your way north until you come to a concealed sea cave about 200ft away from the beach where you originally arrived.

You can use Robustness on the healing.

Thanks for checking

Gathering the gear from the masked woman, Elek wonders if she served the same god as his associates back in Beachcomber. As he places the items in his bag, he then wonders if her being here was they reason they couldn't provide more information, no matter the price offered.

Shaking his head he followed the farrow tunnel to what appeared to be a sea cave. Finding the cave gave him some hope that the witch may not have escaped yet, but not much. Pausing near the entrance into the concealed sea cave, he listens for a moment then carefully enters.

Hmmm taking 10(30/36) on perception listening for any signs of folks, then taking 10 (33) moving into the cave.

I'd wondered if you'd make that connection. XD

The sea cave opens to the beach, about 200ft away from where you originally arrived. Due to reefs, the Revenge is anchored about 100ft farther out.

Frustrated that he wasn't able to find the witch, Elek called a wind and flew back to the fortress. Overseeing the loading of anything of value. While the last of the loot was loaded he found the body of the bard and the evoker, stripping them of anything of value and tossing the bodies into the ocean.

Having collected anything of value and the information about the pending attack, Elek decides he will come back later and finish dealing with the sea monster. After words he will turn the Island over to Barracuda, he feels it's the least he could do since the man lost his fleet.

Flying back to the 'Banshee's Revenge' Elek find Iryani an asks her to keep the illusionist under wraps, then locating Wulfgar and asking him to keep the two former officers as comfortable as possible. Moving to the helm he informs his Helmsman, "Mr Rakkaw, set a course for Port Peril please." as the ship gets underway, he calls on a wind pushing it into the sails to speed their process.

Anything interesting happen on the way to Port Peril?

The voyage to Port Peril is quick and uneventful.

As they sailed to Port Peril, Elek went to his quarters, one by one addressing all the 'sending stones' to his captains and crews. Telling each, "The chelish are sending a fleet to Port Peril, Sail there as quickly as possible, warn every ship you see."

Once they arrive in Port Peril, he paid the crew and told them to take a five day shore leave. As Ambrose passed out the crews paye, he sends Breaker with a message to Tessa Fairwind Telling her it's urgent and he needs to speak with her immediatly. He also asks Sandara and Iryani to take Grok and Peppery to Winnie and arrange for them to be made whole, whatever the cost. While having Conchobhar begin selling the plunder, and restocking for the battle to come.

While Elek waits to hear back from Tessa, he begins working the local dives telling stories of His and his ship and crews exploints.

Yeah, I realize Conchobhar won't get to dollar, but we don't have much time, Can Elek gain more Infamy now? If so:
infamy (influence)(favorie port): 1d20 + 35 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 35 + 2 = 38 grrrrr, really?

It will cost 6,820gp each to fully heal Grok and Peppery. That's mainly due to greater restoration requiring a large quantity of diamond dust.

Fortunately, Tess isn't at sea, and when she receives your message, she's quickly comes to meet you in your cabin.

While not as skilled at haggling as you, Conchobhar's still able to sell the plunder for a decent amount of coin.

You've earned 6,600gp

By defeating Harrigan, you've officially maxed out your Infamy. I'll have the rest of the ways to spend Disrepute listed in Campaign Info in a few minutes. The rest of the campaign deals with how to best leverage your reputation and resources to handle the threat of the Chelish invasion. Good luck!
